No i'm asking you all if it's worth it. Worth is a very personal assessment. On the surface, for features, no. But to get *that* authentic sound, quickly and easily, it's the least expensive option.

@@Aliengroover you're the damn youtuber bro YES we need YOUR opinion lol You want my opinion here it go, since we doin the reverse thing and you got me working for you now The sounds that come from the sp1200 with some gain driven into it is the warmest sexiest crunchiest sound you gonna get out of any sampler ever. Not even close. People selling this for 7k before the rerelease, it ain't worth that, and it ain't worth the 4k either. Unfortunately that warm difference can be made up for with current technology in any of our DAWs and the difference would be marginal to any one of our audiences. However i say worth it from an economical stance because i don't have 4k to throw at the SP and make it make sense. Im a hobbyist. But if I made money off of my beats, I'd consider it 100% or if i just had 4k to play with I'd get it just to enjoy and flex. Who wouldn't want the sound that comes out of that thing? I heard the sample time doubled or something too, that's tuff

@@freqcity I hear you bro but I ain't no UA-camr lol. I appreciate you though and I'll take your advice into consideration for the future. I do agree that the SP sound is unmatched in that grit and crunchiness. There are a million replications out there. I've used some of the plugins before and the MPC and Maschine emulations. Straight up though when I saw the rumors and then heard the official announcement before the price I was ready to plunk down 2 grand because the Isla 2400 was $500 less than that and had way more features. NOT an SP but faithful. I would love the 1200 but i'm probably going to eventually and realistically go with the Isla. It would be a want purchase not a need.

I feel you, and that's fair. There's gotta be an advantage play for the individual. There are emulators, both hardware and software, for that sound but if that "authentic" sound is what you need, you start with the SP and work your way down for affordability. Especially if it's not your primary piece of gear.

I thought I replied this but apparently I didn't lol. Anyway I don't see them as toys in comparison to other standalone units as a whole, but I think they should absolutely have better processing power in 2024. The parts are too cheap to still stick with what they use. They can do better and still have stability.

Yeah it's kinda wild. I listen to the radio when I do Uber. I only use Spotify on longer trips. I deduct it, naturally, and it's nice sometimes, but I'm kinda over it lol

While I am all for achieving the sound I want, however that may be. I LOVE working with hardware. I think that's why controllers exploded in popularity. But hardware by itself can be extra inspiring.
