The Differences in Fly Tying Feathers Pt.1
Very nice. However, when it hits the water, it will poof out again. Though the pike I know will just hit it harder. Not really a deceiver though, but it will deceive the fish.
Thanks for watching!
WTF with the suck music?
Seems like a lot of extra fussing for a bugger, but im sure it will catch fish
Although a couple more steps, they go quickly once you get it. Plus to have a fly that doesn’t foul makes it worth it!
Clean!
Thanks for checking out the vid!
Field tested???
Nicely done! Beautiful pattern
Thank you🤝
great fly, in my saved file
Thanks for checking out the video! Simple and effective
Cool looking easy pattern. Nice work!
Thank you!
I want to like this video, but I got lost after a while when he kept referring to ‘this rod vs this rod’. I lost track of which rod was which, and which ‘this’ was ‘this’.
Hi Richard, thanks for checking out the video! I mention each rod by name when speaking about them or while holding the specific rod. Take a look/listen again and I think it might be a little clearer👍
Congratulations! That’s an incredible fish
Sure was!
Where did you get that curved metal tip for your UV cements?
Hey Thomas, I just responded to your email!
What vise is this please
Hi! This is the Norvise! We have them available on our website👍
Is the waste strap removable so I can slide it onto my fishpond wading belt? Thanks
Hi - Help! Your opinion, could I use a UV resin to seal a rod guide wrap for a build instead of the traditional two-part epoxy? What do you think? Cheers
You say that the TRU zipper slides easily. I disagree. It does not slide easily. In fact you have to pull very hard to close it, especially when you're wearing it, it's very awkward to try and close it. Also, the net is not the easiest to get at. You've got to work pretty hard at it. I'll contact Fishpond to figure out how to get the zipper to close easier. Thank you for the video.
Hi Jarrod, have you tried using the Tru-Zip lubricant that comes with the pack? I find that really helps if the zipper gets sticky!
Too bad they completely forgot to update the strap by putting a spot for hemos like they did on all other packs.
OR Spinning Tackle/Gear.
For sure! Anything!
Great video. Do you know the internal measurements in this pack?
It's a 5L (305 Cu. In) pack. Hope that helps!
@@allpointsfly Hi, i know its 5L, but I would love to have the internal length/width-height 🙈
I'm more than a newbie so this can be a stupid question but, what is the difference between hollow and fake hollow? I can't see it in the procedure 😅 Thanks for sharing, very cool video!
Good question Alfredo. When tying a “fake hollow” you’ll see that the technique includes actually tying back on top of the material (bucktail) and pinching it down after it’s been pulled back. Where as with a normal “hollow tie” the technique is to simply build up thread in front of it and push it backwards (not tying directly on top of the bucktail). Let us know if you have any other questions!
The other snake guides are the same on the both rods ? Looking to see if they both have the same thickness ? Thx
What size mm did you use here?
Hey! These are 7mm eyes
nice and simple. nice looking fly.
Thanks for checking it out!
How do you prevent that bead from slipping forward over time, opening the loop up and then the tail fouling on the front hook? I’m new to this style of rigging so I’m not sure how they work!
Thank you for keeping it clear and simple!!
Glad it helped!👍
Nice work mate 👍
Thank you for checking out the video! Glad you enjoyed it
Baja killer for sure
oh yes! great fly for that area!
Where can I buy axiom 2 fly rod?
You can buy it from our online store!
joe just crushing it
Agreed👍
never seen a vise like that it's beautiful what is it and if don't mind how much $$$
Hi Eric! It’s a Norvise. They are fantastic vises especially for larger flies/hooks. You can check them out on our website👍
Just got one! ua-cam.com/video/BtnaxQZv7i0/v-deo.htmlsi=uv8r9wv1sY5RLI5g
Thank you!
Thanks for checking out the video!
What about the average gal?
Same for the average gal!🙂
Can’t wait to tie some of these in a tan and orange color way to imitate summer sand fleas that striper feed on in the surf here in NJ. Thanks for the awesome pattern
Thanks for checking out the video! I think that sounds like a great idea!!
Great video thank you
Thanks for checking it out Ryan and I'm glad it helped!
I always looking for none or tack free resin, most of these resin are not tack even though its says tack free.
Yes the Solarez is better than most. Especially the Bone Dry resin as a final coating
@@allpointsfly I live here in Sweden we don't have solarez here, we have gulf but expensive not good if you build for bait fish pattern.
@@duposflies2621 we ship internationally. If you would like to try Solarez, let us know!
If I keep the pack in front to get my boxes out does the net hit you in the face? Is there a d ring to hang a net elsewhere?
Hi Bryan! The pack has a lot of options for attachment points and ways of attaching a net so that shouldn’t be an issue👍
One of my favorite salmon flies.
Such a great fly!
Think you could speed up the video a bit more? Man that was hard to follow for a beginner.
Hey mark! Yes this is a pretty complicated fly with a lot of steps. We will be releasing another video with more detail soon
watch with reduced playback speed and pause between steps
Search up hollow tying. It's essentially that repeated.
I’ll be picking up this pack. Looks awesome!
It’s a great minimalistic pack!
So is Zap-a-Gap like thin uv resin or more like super glue?
Zap-a-gap is more of a super glue. Similar to gorilla glue or loctite
I'd get the Scott Centric...best high end rod
Scott does make a nice rod. We do not carry them here at the shop however, so are unable to make a comparison. Keep an eye out for some shootouts soon though!
I wish you had put the pack on to show how it sits on the back, how easy/diffucult it is to sling forward, and how high it rides, etc.
Hey Keith! Yes I probably should have. However the pack is very adjustable and just sit/ride in various points of your back depending on your preferences. It is very easy to adjust and can be done so while wearing it/fishing!
How would you compare the R8 to a Winston Air2? Great review and very helpful. 👍
I believe the old sling has the Velcro attachment pad inside the front pocket... Not really seeing a reason to upgrade?
Hey yes it does, however it has been updated to the Tacky pad
Great video Josh, thx.
Hey Peter! Glad you found it helpful. They are quite different rods. Very good rods but definitely have their own flavor
Lot of reading up the spec sheet. We need casting footages!
Here is a shootout I also did recently: allpointsflyfishing.com/blogs/all-points-fly-shop-outfitter-news/sage-r8-core-vs-sage-salt-hd-9wt-tested-on-the-water
excellent breakdown of the new series, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for checking out the video and glad to hear it helped👍
its a mid rod
Yes, it’s definitely not a super fast rod👍
This was a wonderful explanation of the different types of UV Resin and their purpose . I am new to the use of this UV Resin and knowing which one to use is a wonder. Thanks.
Glad to hear you found it helpful! If you have any questions feel free to contact me👍
It's trevally, not trevolly... Please learn to pronounce it properly...
Thank you👍👍👍👍
