Videos from the life of an uninteresting, interested man.
Solo Day Trip Comanche Point Road, 01-05-2024, '97 Ford Ranger 4x4
Here is a video of Comanche Point Road. It was the middle of winter here in the San Joaquin Valley and it had rained for most of the night before this day. I caught a break in the rain and drove down from Bakersfield, through Arvin and up Comanche Point Road, to Comanche Point, and then back down. It is a fun road/trail with tight switch back sections but is well maintained and I'd say any stock 4x4 could make it. Be sure to use low gears coming down as it is very steep and there are no guardrails or anything of the sort really.
I could find minimal footage of this Road and what actually peaked my interest in this area was an article on a man who had flipped his truck down into a ravine here. He was trapped there for 6 days alone. He was thrown from his vehicle and lay there with a broken back for 6 days. Vehicles passed over him but couldn't hear his cries for help. When he was finally found and rescued he was at death's door but miraculously pulled through.
I was inspired by this story and wanted to see this road.
Now the man in the story was out at night and had no idea the road he was on was more of a trail than a road. He attempted to turn around and flipped the vehicle. He was searching for a shortcut to Tehachapi and Google maps suggested Comanche Point Road. He set out in the dark of night on a road he did not know and it almost ended up being the end of him. But it wasn't the over for that guy.
Thanks for watching

Gas Tank Relocation/Replacement, Massimo MB200S
Переглядів 649 годин тому
Here is a video of how I made a custom bracket to mount a gas tank from a Predator 301cc on my Massimo MB200S. I used a piece of steel I sourced from my garage junk pile. I explain in the video my reasoning for this and the rough nature of the bracket i made. This bike will be more my version of what i would imagine a Wasteland style bike would be like. Maybe some spikes or coyote skulls are in...

Wtf
Single best day on the DRZ400
Only wish we remembered the handlebar mount! More adventures to come
Amazing views
Best time of year to explore the valley!
Pretty cool setup. If you want to know your fuel consumption, maybe look into an hour meter.
Might be a worthwhile modification
Cool man, good job
Thanks man! It will be getting a fresh motor soon with billet parts. stay tuned and check it out if youre interested
I'll be watching, I have basically the same bike, kinda baffed out now, but its about 8-10yrs on it
@@marklaramie7393 Nice, I've had this bike for a little over 8 yrs as well. Took me awhile to start modifying it
@@DyckRyk yeah, mine is stock also, it's been good to me, I've beat the crap outta it, and it took the abuse, so I owe it some tweaking
Yes
Thank you 🙏
Another fun run thats close by
It's a great way to get out of town and do not even have to go off-road
As the sticker says, badass.
This machine likes to run
Top tier narrator voice
Thanks man! 🙏
Dude this is 🔥🔥 🎵 🎶
Thanks Man! It's a work in progress
Such a machine
Always more to do but it's great as it is
This is sick!
Thanks! Still room for improvement but I'm learning!
Cool man. Function over fashion. Better to work well than look good.
Stay tuned for more tool restorations!

I have a hard hat you can have
I have another helmet I can take the headband from but thank you
Huh, wonder who might have crashed your bike. Strange...
🤔 no one knows
Such a blast of a day. We need to make that run again
We will get back up there some time, but in the mean time there are many other close by trips just like this to check out!
Looking good. Spoiler is an appropriate word for them
Such a memorable day. Started with working on the DR650, had a blast adventure riding in the wind that turned into a storm, and ended having a beer at Ethel's. Thank you, Richard!
Wow, that turned out really well
That's with the old camera to !
What exhaust is this, can't for the life of me find one like it
I got it off of gopowersports, I will share this link for you www.gopowersports.com/header-pipe-coleman-200-mega-moto-212-w-gasket/
Thanks you rock!
Intruder most definitely intruding in on my utube time
I bought a brand new 2001 drz400s. Enjoy. I rode it for 10 years
Nice ride.
It was! And fairly easy , stock vehicles could make this one with a skilled driver
Hell yeah dude congrats. Just got my bike today. It's my first bike and I just took it for a ride through the neighborhood. Never rode a motorcycle before. Nothing could have prepared me for how amazing that first ride feels. Enjoy your new bike!
Sure is gratifying on that first Motorcycle... A different experience and delightful. Safe and fun motoring.!
Man you got that right! That first ride is unmatched! I wish you luck and speed in the future brotha
Always emphasize the safety aspect! I broke my femur last year and am just now off a cane. Look both ways every chance you can get!
@@DyckRyk 2x, 3x is better... These damn streets Are Not friendly to us on 2 wheels.
@DyckRyk holy shit I hope you're doing alright now man. It's crazy out there

The Kern River is a beauty not to be underestimated
Sounds great, like a machine that wants to run
