Well, that took forever to load, but it is officially up at 6:55 pm. It took it several hours to upload, though.
Clearly ‘Man Flu’ ! ✌️
@gayefanner731 It was something, but it's all but gone now. I hope the video came out okay. It was hard to stay focused even though there was a couple of things I wanted to say.
@@fishyplantman5254 vid no different from normal apart from seeing the nameless dog for the second time ever!! BTW small dogs live WAY longer than larger ones, assuming they’re exercised properly. I’ve had two larger dogs in my adult life, one lived to 16, the other 14.5 years ✌️
There’s a label in the ‘basket plant’ bowl which tells you its Latin name ✌️
@gayefanner731 Maybe on the original purchase, but I suspect that the sticker was either removed or this is not the original pot.
@@fishyplantman5254 I distinctly remember you discovering the label on film! because at the time I thought how weird you’d never noticed it before!! ✌️
@gayefanner731 I seem to remember something like that. I don't think the tag matched the plant, but if it's the basket plant, the tag is missing, 'cause I can't find it now.
Gosh your hard work!! It DID match, why else would I be bothering?! It’s a Callisia fragrans, l thank God my memory serves me well, but I take the trouble to exercise it ✌️
@gayefanner731 Hey, I was gonna look back. It's the biggest reason I make these videos well, one of the biggest reasons. Just not know. Still will probably. But a quick Google says that it is the right tag I'm looking for. I'm thinking it's a tag that you put in the soil and I took it out, but never put it back for some reason.
I hope you at least use a cocktail stick or similar inert object instead of your finger in your pollination efforts this time around ! I believe l mentioned it last year, but you knew best ! Yes start a channel for chess, I just switched this video off straight away ! ✌️
@@gayefanner731 Yes, with zero percent success pollinating last year. I think it's likely that the oil, soap, cologne, and whatever else that may have been on my hands could have contributed to the problem. I thought I would give it a shot. Because it's a nice and easy way of doing it. I may have just learned why nobody does it that way. As far as the chess thing goes yes, I do want it on its own channel. I just wanted to see if there was anybody here. That would be willing to cross over. So far, it doesn't look like it's even worth bringing it up again. That's okay, i'm not really sure I want another channel anyway.
@ Phew!
I’m not into cichlids but I enjoy ‘Uncommon Aquatics’ channel for his enthusiasm n knowledge ✌️
@@gayefanner731 maybe ill have a look.
Interesting news about the alleged fish but l was dreading TGCactus news ever since mine began to flower, so it’ll be nothing but TGs for months now! Hey ho, God bless you anyway 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱✌️
@@gayefanner731 They do get the views, but we'll see. There was always a goal to get better blues in the african females and everybody loves baby anything.
I’m not interested in aggressive fish, there’s already too much aggression in this world ✌️
@@gayefanner731 I get what you're saying, but i'm not sure there's a fish in this world that's not aggressive at least from time to time. My neon tetris, chased each other around.Even the fan tails would chase each other. Still, you can pick fish that are not out to kill each other or anybody. Like the two I mentioned they'll chase each other, maybe other fish, but they're not gonna do any damage.
I may go back to the fantail project though. As chaotic, as it looked, there was a project in that.
I’ve had six White Cloud Mountain Minnows in quarantine for a week now n they have lovely natures. I can’t wait to get them into my main tank and get another group! ✌️✌️✌️
I've had my ponytail palm since between 2000 to 2003 and it's 3 to 4ft tall and the base is the size of a medium coconut. They require 4 to 6 hours of sun during the growing season. I keep mine between 55 and 65°f during the winter so it goes dormant.
@@MultiDragon1313 Nice! How big was it when you got it? Mine was very tiny, but still over 10 years. It seems like it should be doing better. Also, thanks for the subscription. I know I don't ask for them, but it's still nice to see people like my babbling enough to subscribe.
@@fishyplantman5254 it was 1 of 5 seedlings about 2 or 3 inches tall.
Unlike other UA-cam channels you don’t ask for comments but I feel I owe you a debt of gratitude: My neighbour, whilst helping me in with my new 4foot aquarium, asked me what got me into the hobby and I realised, upon reflection, it was your channel ! I was focused on plants after 50 years in horticulture but you used to have fish too and I became interested in tanks and collecting all the aquatic plants you didn’t show or grow. So thank you, in a funny way you inspired me! God bless you 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱✌️
@@gayefanner731 Yeah, i've got to get that front viewing panel cleaned and as I was reading your comment.I just got an interesting idea of how I might do it.
I refuse to accept those sad Kentia palms, they’re raised to sell not to live; sown too thickly n never pricked out, pumped full of fertilisers n forced into abnormally soft growth making them magnets for red spider mite, mealy bug n scale insects. Worse than a waste of time, they can spread their infestations to other houseplants! Put the whole thing, pot and all safely and gently (so as not to dislodge any pests) into a plastic bag, seal it firmly and put it outside in the trash!! And God bless you! 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱✌️
Please say ''uhm what the sigma?''
Now THAT was a good video in my book! Thank you 🤝 Lovely to visit old friends but the shivereana was noticeable by absence; possibly gonna be featured separately?!! The bulb looked, to me, like a Spanish bluebell which hybridises with our lovely native bluebells (in England) and endangers their very survival ! I would stamp on it! Indeed I pull them up wherever I see them, getting me into all sorts of trouble until I explain why, resulting in another recruit in the battle to preserve the British Bluebell which still carpets our woodlands and moors with drifts of blue in wilder places in Spring, Hallelujah !!! Thanku and God bless your endeavours 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱✌️
@@gayefanner731 Spanish and British I knew there was two. People seem to be doing the same around here. But I like my larger hybrid bluebells. It would make me sad to have to destroy them because of a ban. Luckily so far I know of no such legal action. That and I don't know, of any true bluebells in the area or even county. That too would make me consider destroying my hybrids. With neither of those two things being true, the only thing I do is keep them contained, what's deen up until now a single pot.
@@gayefanner731 The shivereana was a casualty of the failing light. By the time I got to it it was so dark in its spot that I figured it deserve better. So yes probably next week's video.
I must say l prefer general ‘tour’ type updates, just briefly touching on specific points, but glad you’re moving on and you’ll do it your way! I have quite a few green Sheffs in my bonsai collection: a Mangrove style group with aerial roots and a five cutting fusion starting to get a nice gnarled trunk and I just love their shiny green leaves reflecting the light, no watering problems thank God! Hey ho, God bless your endeavours 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱✌️
@@gayefanner731 Maybe a hybrid of the video styles, depending on what I have to say about the plant.

@@gayefanner731 Well, if it's not my most active subscriber. If I would've read this comment before making the video I might have started with a different plant. But now that i've made the first video I think I might do a bit of a species spotlight on each of my plans. I need a different name, though. I can think of at least one other youtuber that specifically does species spotlight. I am thinking about including some plants outside. So I don't know that that question's gonna get an answer in this comment. You may have to wait for the video wherever it shows up in the lineup.🤗 P.S Thank you for your input.I was not thinking about the outside plants, but now they may find their way into the videos.
Wow, that was the most extensive reply you’ve ever given, certainly to me anyway, thank you 👍
@@gayefanner731 Well, I need to remember i'm not just making the videos for myself. I need to try to think about what you and the other viewers would like to see. Like after making my latest video and watching another video. I'm thinking that even though I said that I don't want a varicated ednsonia, or a normal chef laura. I know, never mind the spelling. That's not even the right word, but I am in a hurry, so i'm gonna let it go for now. Back to the point, I think it mite be worth it to get both if I can find both for the benefit of the channel. After all, saying something is one thing. But showing is so much more.

@gayefanner731 I still want to, but I am getting away with it. That's actually kind of a bad thing. My concern has shifted from.I need to get the other tank going, Two. It's working, and as long as there's no babies, i've got time. I can't decide if i'm lazy and just using the fact that i'm doing something every day as an excuse. Or if i'm overworked, and that's why I don't want to do anything when i've got a minute to relax.
Ok. Well, of course you will know the answer to that ! ✌️
.....Victor.....some make it and some dont......In my opinion.....any Phal you get from a store is being rescued.......most will die from neglect or lack of growing knowledge....They have a much better chance with you.....Go get another one and give it a good home......
I feel aggrieved that you don’t think we’re worth re- recording a short video for 😞 I’ve come to terms with your videos being about what YOU want to share, but I definitely prefer to follow UA-camrs who go to a modicum trouble for their viewers 🤷🏼♀️
@gayefanner731 I've taken some time to think about your comment. It has taken longer than it should have to just realize you're right. Moving forward, if I get the slightest thought of I should re-record, I will and recognize that any thoughts of well (it's probably good enough.) for what they are laziness.
God bless you, and thank you for your honest and accepting response 🤝
I’ve noted that it’s practically mandatory to have a spare tank! I’m planning on two aquariums but will use both! However I’m keeping some of my largest pondlife pickle jars for emergencies! God bless your endeavours 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱✌️
@gayefanner731 I wish you the best of luck with yours.
Nice to see the fish, but why no plants in tank? Enrichment for the fish not merely aesthetics. ✌️
You can't keep live plants with most cichlids. There is one in there, but it's constantly getting moved around and will likely be killed by them.
Oh?! So why Cichlids, being a fishy/plant man? ✌️
@gayefanner731 Oh, I don't know. They were available, They can work but are a challenge. They are also a fish I have never kept before. To give a few reasons.
Fair enough ✌️
Plants are looking good ❗ do you have any that are ready to be split so I can get a couple of them?? Also how are the fish doing??
It looks like you missed the video. For one and all. Something like that. That video is kind of aimed at you. But it's also public. I don't think the aloe is in it, but when it's ready, it's gonna have to go somewhere.
The fish are doing well also.
Hiya, nice to see your other plants chugging along, I wonder if your Agapanthus outside are flowering? we have some enormous blooms at my new place. Fish next time maybe ? God bless your endeavours 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱✌️
It's starting, too. I didn't look at the other big one but the blue one I just noticed yesterday is starting to send up shoots
Hiya, I’ve been busy moving house these last couple of months so just settled down to catch up on a few of your vids. I’d have liked to have seen more of your fish now you have them again or more of your plants away from the tank as you weren’t showing the fish 🤷🏼♀️ hey ho, God bless you 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱✌️
I know the feeling. My excuses are lol. The tank is ugly and always will be to a point but there is one thing I would like to do at lest. And most of the plants 🪴 are not doing much. They are starting though. So we will see. It's good to see you again.
Ok, and thanx ✌️
@@gayefanner731 Your already putting ideas in my head for next wednesdays video, so thank you.
Yay! 👍
What kind of stones do you use and is there any soil in with the stones??
I think these stones came with one of the. I don't want a fish tank anymore setups. The guppies I used to have were building up a bit of a loam at the bottom that was going to benefit the plants. These fish, however, are considerably bigger and just stirred it up into the water column. Consequently, 99% of it has ended up in the filter. The canister filter needs to be cleaned again, and then it should clear up. But I really should be making a video now so I can upload in the morning.
Fantastic fish I'm so glad you got them again and I'll look forward to seeing any additional
Hey hon, I found your channel and subscribed. Personally I never ever cut a spike unless its dead. Dried up brown, dead! Especially since Rick told me those spikes are full of potassium. But yea it appears its going to branch. So excited to see that! It means it will bloom again too! 😊
Yes, the only reason I cut the browning spike is it was too late. I suppose, I could have let it dry a little more, but I'm confident. It was getting very little from anything that I cut. Even the plant, after getting a drink or two of aquarium water, made a cut lower than the cut that I made. It was very clear up to that point. The plant could use it anything beyond that the plant was sacrificing.
Ok, there are no comments on this video that I can see. The email is fishyplantman@gmail.com

Yes, I did think of switching the day, but this can happen on any day. There's no way of knowing what day is gonna be busier than the next, and there's not a day off. Something happens every day.
My white holiday cactus pushed out one single bloom this March. I was so happy and took a picture of it.😊
Yea, that's wonderful. I think you'll like next week's video. It's too early to tell. Of course, but my pollination project may go down an amazing road. I'm trying not to get too excited. After all, I haven't had a successful seed pod yet.

. I would like to send you a picture of my plant that you gave me. It's doing great?
Easy just send it to fishyplantm@gmail.com
I refer you to the Wikipedia article on Dracaena sanderiana ( lucky bamboo) btw same species as my example Sansevieria, a clear photo in the Gallery shows its orange roots. I rest my case ! ✌️
It could still have something to do with what they are feeding it. Still, carrots are orange, and anyone would have a hard time changing that.
Orange roots = soil roots. White roots = water roots 💁♀️
Why would soil make them orange?
Orange is their natural colour, like Sansevieria roots, as you said they were when you first got the plant. White is the colour they become when treated hydroponically ✌️
@gayefanner731 I'll have to test that theory with my next cutting. I have grown in soil and I don't remember that color.
It’s a fact, not a theory! You said it yourself !!✌️
@gayefanner731 Then it should test true. Am going to test it at some point anyway.
