Am I right in thinking that the one person who was in the Beatles inner circle for a good five years has never spoken about that time let alone written a book about it is Jane Asher? The one book I'd loved to have read can sadly never be written, and that is John's autobiography, though in a sense he did write it via his lyrics. Just would've loved to have read what he made of it all and his take on the break up and beyond. Watching Anthology was where I really missed him, conspicuous by his absence round that table in George's kitchen with the others....

Recording Sessions is a fascinating read and a brilliant reference book, I used it in conjunction when listening to the Anthology albums as they came out. But for me the best Beatles book for me is a joint No 1 of The Beatles Authorised Biography by Hunter Davies and The Beatles Anthology book, that huge coffee table tome. One written whilst they were still a functioning band and the other is basically the band's autobiography. But there are so many out there. Currently loving the books on the Fabs by Bruce Spizer, if you've not come across them, check them out, his next book on the band is out in the autumn...

It was the greatest rock show in history. The greatest gathering of talent the world will ever see. We were lucky to be alive to witness it happen before our very eyes, Dino! My feeling is that the UK show by far eclipsed what was going down in Pennsylvania, even though there were many great performances over there. Queen stole the show, hands down. It was a moment in time I'll cherish forever. 🤟

I trust they didn't pitch correct John Lennon's voice, like Adidas criminally did to Paul McCartney's Hey Jude recently on their awful advert.

Sounds like that was an amazing evening at Abbey Road listening to those amazing tracks and takes Dino. I attended a listening party many years ago of a PJ Harvey album, but for the time (mid nineties) the sound system they played it through was amazing, so I can only "Imagine" what Mind Games must've sounded like on Dolby Atmos. I'm surprised that HMV are not stocking the box set, as I bought all three formats from their online service. Got the 2 LP'S on Thursday, and the Box set and the 2 CD arrived this morning. I have only heard the ultimate mix (disc one) of mind games on the vinyl last night and it is amazing, it sounds so bright, the clarity is what surprised me, that and the amazing separation of the various instruments, and how clear John's voice is. He never needed to smother it in reverb or double tracking, he was an amazing vocalist as he was. All due respect to Sean, Paul Hicks ( Am I right in thinking that Paul Hicks is son of Tony Hicks of The Hollies?) and their team for what they have done with this album. I have to say that Mind Games has gone up in my estimation as one of John's great albums, and for me this box set, blows all the other's out of the water . My favourite box over POB and Imagine, and they are both amazing sets. Many thanks for this short but sweet video my friend. Have a great weekend, and I hope you manage to get the box set real soon. I notice you have them in plastic sleeves. Do you keep them separate from the box? I left mine inside. I'm nearly afraid to do anything else. Just curious to see how others keep this amazing box.

That is so cool, whoever has sent you that has got a real sense of Humour. I still have the very same copy of that cassette somewhere that I got back in '81. Less than a week to go. I have ordered the 6 CD Deluxe Box, the 2 LP and the 2 CD, just hope they all arrive together and on time. Been playing the 9 track Uncut CD quite a bit. I get the feeling that this is going to be the best of the John Lennon box sets so far. I don't understand why people are getting so wound up about others getting freebies of the box to review. It may have been when Andrew Dixon got the cube to review, that started this whole thing, but that's not his fault, and he always gives very unbiased and honest reviews of albums and box set's, including details I'd never have thought of. He says it as he sees it and if there's something there he dosen't like he'll tell you. So if there's anyone out there watching Dino V's channel and reading my comments, I really like Ferrari's, Rolex watches and Toblerones...😂😂 Any how many thanks Dino for this video, looking forward to your unboxing and review of this Box set of Mind Games. In the meantime I'm off to try on my McCartney II T-shirt that has just arrived in the post.....

Saw Paul two of three days at Rosemont Horizon in Chicago. Was actually in London on a pre planned trip before I knew Paul was to tour. So, I scalped a ticket to pay my airfare back to Chicago and after the two shows I went straight back to London to meet my friend. Crazy times.

I've not bothered this time, I've seen Paul so many times now over the years, the same with Dylan, that I've decided to leave it at that. Though I've got tickets to see Simply Red next year, but nowhere near the price of Macca tickets, or Springsteen, which I also decided against due to the enormo price that they wanted for them. Enough of this. I just wanted to say that I picked up my copy of Uncut at the train station at their branch of WH Smiths yesterday. The CD has whetted my appetite for the box set, the 2 CD's and the 2 LP's that are ordered and on the way to me, hopefully on release day. Not had chance to sit down and read the magazine yet may well do that on my lunch break at work tomorrow, outside if the sun's still shining. Before I go I'd just like to mention that not only is today my eldest daughter's 33rd birthday, that it would've been Stuart Sutcliffe's 84th had he not been taken from us at the tender age of 21. That was exactly my day….i had two tickets for Manchester mid front floor block……card declined.. twice!!! And what a pain I was in work and couldn’t keep checking…only odd seats in the Gods left now.. so until the secret show is announced for Liverpool, I’m out for the first time ever!!!!!!😂

My niece managed to get 2 tickets for Manchester 8 row £600 each

Loving this album it is truly brilliant and totally agree the band are really on top of their game and Paul's voice is ssoooo good . love it, love, love it. If you look at the booklet it tells who assistant engineers MV and MM are but I dont have it front of me and Im too old to remember

Got the 2 LP and CD's. Been listening to the CD's and I'm loving this album. Going to spend the weekend enjoying the LPs and the EP. My only gripe is why this LP is not in a gatefold sleeve? Why are they cramming two albums and an EP into one album sleeve, but aside from this I'm really enjoying this release, and then next month we have more to come with John's Mind Games ultimate mixes box set, really looking forward to that one as well. Thanks for this video Dino. Will you be doing a deep dive review of all the tracks on one hand clapping at some point?
