Garry mate, i will take that as a brilliant compliment, thankyou. But yes, not sure if i mentioned it in my descript, but only hours prior i learnt of Kaylee Bell and thankfully, i had enough battery in the camera to get down there and try capture it and must say, dam pleased i di, cos she was brilliant. Many smiles all around. ;-)

It was a fantastic race, again and loaded in highlights. As for ol Jonathan Allard, im thinking his set up was fading out, but over the last more or less two years, what you see with young Joel is so good to watch. Once he gets those cross hairs on something, he will absolutely crank it, get that momentum going and never gives in. Not sure it you have seen on my channel, i have a playlist on Joel Myers Jnr, incredibly talented young buck. And hell yes... quick mention before i started editing yesterdays Gold Cup.. Max Guilford was absolutely on form massively, and absolutely fantastic to see Brad Mosen climb on board and go for the run with Max, mind blowing stuff, soooo dam cool once they start cranking that high line ;-)

@@FlashBackMedia05 so much to like as the wily old hands - Allard, Larsen, Duff, Pickens, Kerr, etc mix it up with the young 'uns snapping at their heels. With Max Guilford taking his car to US, and Dyllan Forsey & Caleb Baughn crewing for Joel M Jr (based somewhere in the Carolina's?) the young 'uns are cramming race craft/experience into themselves big time. It seems to me over the season JMJ has got a bit more patient - earlier he was sending it down the inside a lot (esp with lapped traffic) but later on was more cautious. And most of his come from behind wins thru the season were right near the end of a race when the mistake he was waiting for didn't eventuate - only then did he send it to snatch the victory. Is there a forum where keen fans discuss the races/trends/fan experience? I'm becoming ever keener on Sprintcars but find the lack of commentary/insider info a void I'm keen to fill.

@@grahamallan4861 mate well written ;-) Yes, i did notice a change in JMJs style this time round, the thing that absolutely blew my mind in the first yr Joel was here, the wicked slingshot, catapult effect he was doing, absolutely impressive and a good track to see that on was down there at Cromwell, incredibly well calculated and pretty dam faultless, but this time round, yes he has kind of eased up on the sling shot effect but dam good cos just wait to see it and hell yeah as you say, he cranks it near the end and out comes the Hurricane lol... He got Jamie Duff a beauty, i think that was Cromwell again, Duffy thought he had it covered but hell, Joel let rip but i think it was the underside ..... then there was one of the most magic things i have ever filmed, the Feature race for last round of War Of The Wings at Ellesmere. Hell, that was so dam good, storm hit with weather and Joel stormed it on the last lap from 3rd to 1st. Soooo many highlights. But the great thing this time round, our Kiwi lads have really stepped it up a notch, which has given us more fantastic racing.... Shit i need to get off here and go edit but you mention Max Guilford, hell he was bloody impressive on the 6th April, running that high line with wicked pace and another great thing to come into Sprintcars, thanks to Stevie Duff, was Brad Mosen jumping in Duffys 15C and he went along for the ride with Max as he stormed the outside. SPRINTCARS ARE IN MY VIEW... THE BEST DAM SPECTACLE THERE IS. Circuit racing fan all my life and now hmmmm... i dont even venture to the tarred tracks, clay is the nuts ;-)

Naaaa frenzel i would not agree there. The likes of Ruapuna, im sure they like the spectator numbers they are seeing come through the gate, especially on the big meets.

Western Springs has gone thru uncertain times in recent years - opposition from the community it is located in, plus the damage caused by weather bomb Jan.23. I'm sure that has not helped their fanbase or casual punters stay engaged. I don't think you would recognise the Ruapuna Speedway of today - lots of tiered seating, grassy embankments, hospitality units, ok food and drink options, and - tho I'm not expert - pretty good track prep/maintenance, and a slick operation to get thru the programme before noise curfew. Taint no way it's gonna get tax breaks or similar in current economic climate. In fact Ruapuna is going so well they just ran a 4 night "speedweek" that offered over nz$100k in prize money across Midgets, V6 wingless sprints, and Sprintcars. Attracted the best in all classes from around the country, paid $20k for final sprintcar feature ... I think the sport is doing ok in these parts 🙏👌

Oh, and I think the advent of Livestream means folks who aren't near a decent venue, or like to follow the action from around the country can pay a bit to fill their boots with speedway action - bums on seats @ venues is no longer THE only measure of "attendance" or interest in the sport - and I've just remembered we actually have two decent venues in Christchurch - there's Woodford Glen also (stock cars, modifieds, etc) plus a country track @ Ellesmere and a bike track/stadium .... Oozing speedway here in Canterbury 😄

But in the reality of the "Cut throat business practices and environment that the Sporting Promotion Businesses have "devolved" into these days "on this side of the ditch" at any rate, it really is "bums on seats" and NOT the "corporate groups" behind the venue that counts any more, Crikey, I remember a time when the Tobacco and Alcohol Industries ( or more specifically, the "Beer Brewing Industries," and you know as well as I do, that in mid-1970s, through to the early 1990s, when those guys spoke, the ONLY answer they EVER got from Governments at all levels, so that's local Councils, State, Territory AND Federal Governments, was "Yes Sir, No Sir, Three Bags Full Sir". Everyone who wanted to have a serious Government, ANYWHERE on the East Coast, from the Torres Strait to the "edges of the Tazmaniacs" but what anyone could relate to and what we all knew had to be

Absolutely, there is nothing like Sprintcars in action. As much as try to get right in there with camera, really need to experience the feel, the sight and the speed by having backside trackside. The ultimate!

Yeah mate you are dead right, when ever seeing the 16C Stealth come on track, always keep a eye on him, hes only young bugger but dam good kid and hell, he has a bright future in Saloons and of course at some stage, most likely step up to Super Saloons. Heres a good part of it, his Dad builds these Stealths, (Mark Osborne) so what better way to advertise a fantastic built car, than to have ya son pedal it and show its capabilities. Be sure to check out the video with Mark in action, although its not the action ya want to see, as he got airborne and nasty fall to the ground, but great thing with the build, he got out with no serious injury. And heres something many may not pick up, but while editing these videos, i can go frame by frame, and see things easily, without the speed, but Ashton (16C) almost done exactly the same "lift" as his dad did, but having a little less horsepower probably, had the 16C get all four back on the track, instead of all four hanging in the air .. ;-)

@@FlashBackMedia05 Yeah well, the thing about getting airborne is that bloody gravity bit, now that REALLY sucks. But the good thing about that is, knowing that it's your old Man that put the "Beast" together, and you know that your Dad's always gonna take care of you, he has to doesn't he? If you don't walk away from this, he's not going to get to many phone calls saying "make me one, make me one too" ... After all, he's in the business of making and selling race cars, and you young fellah, are my best advertising!!

Hmmm not sure what the hell that is all about mate but noooo, Woodford Glen is still all go and will remain going for many yrs to come.
