Our local restaurant took this off the menu and it was one of our favorites, so we decided to make ourselves. Turned out fabulous. We will add it to our own menu.

The temperature in Vegas on this weekend was 117 degrees. Time to bug out. Mt. Charleston is a great place to do it. Only about an hour away and lots to do. We just got to our spot and relaxed. Had a nice 2 hour rain and did a lot of nothing.

Probably our last trip of the summer to camp desert, our property in AZ. Started out cold, windy and raining but turned out nice as always. Priority 1 was to learn how to fly our new drone. What a blast. Recharged the battery several times. Now have spares. Always a good time at camp desert, except for the snake which turned out to be a red racer. Can't wait for fall.

Took the grandson to Lake Side RV in Pahrump. He had a grand time. The weekend before, we drove through the Valley of Fire via Callville and Echo Bay campgrounds. Stopped by Red Stone and some hot springs along the way. We have since purchased a drone, so there will be some fun stuff coming.

Trip to tropical Miami Florida. We should have packed warmer cloths. The Miami Airport was a little crazy, but we still had a good time. Air boats are a blast, but the guide would not let me drive.

Weekend was supposed to be at Red Rock Campground, but the only space available was listed as standard size. Well, it wasn't, so we picked the worst possible time to go to Lake Mead RV Village. Nice place but the valley had record braking winds all weekend, which made it not as enjoyable as it could have been. Still had a good time.

Now that the weather has cooled off, even though it is still pleasant during the day, we thought we would get out to camp desert. Close to the same time, we thought we should check out some camping options close by. Lake Mead has a campground (dry camp) and RV Village (full hook up) that are less than an hour from us. Recommend online reservation for the campground and calling for the Village. ...

Our reservation at Hill Top on Mt. Charleston was cancelled due to tropical storm Hilary. We check Willow Beach, and they had space, so we took it. We wanted Mt. Charleston to escape the heat. No escape at Willow Beach. Still had a good time and would go back when it's cooler.

Went to San Diego for a couple of reasons, the lessor of which was a birthday gift for me. We spent the 1st two days cruising around Sea Port Village and eating amazing seafood. Beth had us set up at the Grand Hyatt on the harbor which was amazing. The storm was not bad where we were, other than a lot of rain, cancelled flights and rent a car problems. Other than that, a very enjoyable trip.

When we called for a reservation, we thought it would be sold out. Not so. We were practically alone. It was hot, which was surely a factor. Still another good time and new adventure. Lake Mead could sure use some water.

Weekend getaway to the AZ property. Always relaxing and enjoyable. Good food, good company, good weather (except the wind) and good times. We'll be back.
