NH 4000 Footers - Mt Cabot/The Horn
Mount Cabot is a 4,170 foot mountain located in Berlin, New Hampshire. The mountain is the tallest mountain in the Pilot Range of the White Mountains. It is the northernmost 4,000 footer mountain in NH.
After two failed attempts we finally conquered Mt Cabot. We hiked up the Bunnell Notch trail to the Kilkenney Ridge trail. Once we reached Cabot cabin we set up our tents and spent the night. The next morning we hiked up to the summit of Cabot adding number 40 to my list of 4000 footers. We continues down Kilkenney ridge and tagged both the Bulge and the Horn on our way down to Unkown Pond. From there it was an easy hike out to the car on the Unknown Pond trail

Переглядів 3673 роки тому
Owls Head is a 4,025 foot mountain in the White Mountains and is part of the Pemigewasset Wilderness. It is one of the only NH 48 4,000 footers without a maintained trail to the summit. (But so many hikers have been there, that the trail is obvious.) There are no views from the wooded summit, but you can catch some great spots with views along the Owl's Head Path looking to Mount Lafayette, Mou...

Review - Backpacking With The Mavic Air
Переглядів 575 років тому
I took my new Mavic Air Drone up to a local mountain and went through some of the most common automated shots that the drone offers. I videoed it with the camera in both auto mode and then with an ND 16 filter for some cinematic footage for comparison. I also show you how I plan to take the drone with me on backpacking trips.

The Tripyramids are three peaks: North Tripyramid (4,180′), Middle Tripyramid (4,140′), and South Tripyramid (4,100′) located are in the Sandwich Range of the White Mountains in Waterville Valley. The latter peak is not considered an official 4,000 footer because there is not a sufficient change in altitude between its neighboring peak. I did Owls Head July of 22. The Black Pond bushwhack is very easy to follow, no harder than the Black Pond trail. It’s more herd path than bushwhack. Just need to go through a muddy section past the pond outlook. It saves 2 major river crossings and almost a mile. Brutus Bushwhack was not hard to follow but had lots of slippery roots.

If you had turned left out of Woodford Reserve then ten minutes down the road is Castle and Key distillery. Y’all achieved quite a few on the Bourbon Trail. I hope you enjoyed visiting the Bluegrass State, the home of beautiful horses and fast women. 🤔😁
