Fast iDistort and ST-Map Node for Nuke
The iDistort and STMap nodes in Nuke can be quite slow when you have highly detailed UV's.
Here is a little explanation why and some ways to get around it.

Nuke's .nkc ViewerCache.

Taking a look at the caching functionality in Nuke, discovering a few bugs in the process. Nuke uses an internal file format called .nkc to store the cache from the viewer. I made a little python script to view the files. Huge shoutout to Shizlog for inspiring the kawaii mode :)
Introduction to ZipBlur for Nuke - "Guided Low frequency Filtering"
Переглядів 9 тис.2 роки тому
This is ZipBlur for Nuke. It's a tool for removing directionally oriented detail from an image, for example hair, scars, tears, wrinkles, image artifacts and other similar things. It's using a method I call “Guided Low-frequency Filtering” Nukepedia Link: (Awaiting Publication) 00:00 Introduction 00:26 The method behind ZipBlur 02:13 Creating a guided directional blur 06:44 Putting it all toget...
I want your node emoji please send plugin
Thank you for not gatekeeping the amazing stuff ❤️💪 Very cool!
Every one of your tools isn't just a really useful new/replacement/helper tool, but an thorough examination of the underbelly of how that tool and the methods that it uses work. Always brilliant Mads! Thank you.
very cool as usual!
Great work as always! I love seeing your videos and how you explain them. It inspires me to get some more videos out. There is a lot of cross over in this one with something I have been working on. I'll be keen to show it off soon.
Nice work as always, Mads. Will this be available on Nukepedia?
Great addition to the paintbrush toolset. Thank You!!
impressive
I loved your nodes style.. how you do that??
Nice!
thank you so much, this video is a gem!
Hi sir render point errors esue CMD box
wow lots of maths here ! this is absolutely superb.
Great stuff Mads!
I feel like this has been an issue since Nuke12. It has been getting worse. Thank you for pointing this out. Bugs like this mess with your head trying to deliver under pressure. They don't really fix any of these bugs with rotopaint and basic 2d stuff. The 2d tracker is in bad bad shape.
give me kawaii mode
Where can I find this nkc reader and the kawaii mode ?
😂😂😂
Very interesting, thank you for delving into that topic :D Also I want those faces on my node tree as well - that's not a plugin/script/etc, right?
I'm pretty sure it's a script, but I don't know how to access to that level of the nodegraph to add images to the nodes.
Wow! That is so great to get a glimpse of this strange caching behaviour and an awesome tool to work with it. Thanks a lot!!!
Amazing as always ❤
EXCELLENT IT'S MUCH SO GREAT CLASS
holy crap this is incredible
Amazing tool, saved me a lot of time already. I just saw your SmartBlur tool today, could it be that it's somewhat... related to this one? ZipBlur just seems more elaborate (e.g. the different algorithms)
amazing, thank you !

Thats the best explanation 👍
I have no idea what's going on, but I'm just happy to be here :')
Super interesting watch!
Man, you're genious!

Awesome stuff, Mads, as always! Absolutely agree with that comment about your explanation! It is the wonderful presentation! Carry on, Sir!

Wow. At it again Mads. Good work. And thanks for the explanation!!
Brilliant! Greetz from Brazil!
Superb. You area Amazing
Mads, so many thanks!! And especially for the deep explanation!!
That´s amazing Mads, thank you!
Amazing ❤️
brilliant
Brilliant ! I love the in depht explanation of the tool. So much stuff i‘ve learned + a new handy gizmo for daily comp work. You rock !
Love it! I have been doing some TD stuff around getting curve U, tangent, and a linear ramp from first to last points in nuke's rotopaint tool, so I really like what you have crafted here. I'll send you over my dev files if you are interested. Really keen to give this a go on a rope rig removal and see how far I can push it. Awesome work!
Oh my god
Genius!
Mads on UA-cam!😍 Amazing one 🔥
Mads! You are a genius!!! Thank you!!!
