i only came to know about Purple Kiss a week ago from a Nerdy dance cover (stopped following kpop long years ago). luckily the yt algo didnt recommend me this before i've seen & heard enough to be very impressed by purki, else i probably would have not given them a chance lol so yeah that other comment is sorta correct, maybe dont clickbait/ragebait for a group facing a dwindling fanbase. if i were a ex-fan or on-the-fence fan i also would have bailed after the part on concrete jungle 😅 edit: thanks for the other compilations tho, they're fun to watch

I think this is one of their strongest title tracks and visual concepts overall! but i do wish the album was longer because im also not really a fan of ballads and the more bittersweet tracks so getting 2 of them on an album this short that is so heavily focused on darker aspects visually was a little bit disappointing, however I love the title track so much that it more than makes up for it to me! I also like concrete jungle for the place it has in this album, especially since i feel like not many groups do intro openers anymore but I cant totally see why you feel the way you do about it! for me i like that it feels a bit substance lacking and like its teasing, enticing (?) me to listen more, just pulling me in and sending me RIGHT into the banger that is on my bike! i also think that encore shouldve been placed after on my bike because the switch into sweet nightmare reallyyyy threw me off! thank you for sharing your thoughts!!

I wanted to like this album but I'm just really not feeling it at all. Of all their albums this is what I like the least and honestly don't think it's gna be in my rotation. It may just be my music pref but their sound just keeps drifting further from what I like. I'll still try to support and watch upcoming perf/content but this era is not for me.

i thought i was the only who didn't like Sweet Nightmare, personally it's my only skip in the album, i even like Light The Way better lol. i don't think it's their best album but it's not their worst either, i'd give it a 6 or 7

I enjoyed "on my bike" (reminded me of my heart skips a beat ❤) and "encore", but this album doesnt feel like up to the standard of cabin fever or geekyland. I didn't really vibe with bbb and 7th heaven, so this feels like purki is back 🎉 Now, call me crazy, but i feel like there is sth going on with the creatives at RBW and it is affecting both Oneus and Purki. Both have released these generic title tracks lately. I love purki so much! Let them shine RBW! 😢 Anyway, i hope Headway sells a ton 🔥

Tbh i wouldnt even consider this their worst album I absolutely loved it, this girls never dissapoint to deliver amazing vocals and tracks! My top3 songs are Encore, Sweet Nightmare and the Intro (i always adore their intros oml its such a shame they're so short) On my bike its also a good song and title track(i've been playing it on repeat 24/7), though the MV felt cheaper than what they usually do, i still enjoyed watching it Ofc its not their best album (i dont think anything can beat Cavin Fever and Geekyland) But its still a good album and im definetly not dissapointed i can proudly say that the result was worth the wait, and definetly i wouldnt even think about saying its their worst album

im just so glad that theyre finally back to the purple kiss i stanned in the first place. on my bike was enjoyable, probably my second favorite track, but man, encore just hit me in a way that no purple kiss song has in a while, i absolutely love it. concrete jungle wasnt bad, but their intros have been a lot weaker lately, which is disappointing. i liked sweet nightmare but it wasnt really a standout, and light the way sounded very good, just not my personal style (i almost never like any of purple kiss's ballad-type songs)

IMO this is so much better than BBB, i love PK with my life but BBB was so 💀 for me srry:(, and i loved this comeback but i must admit that it feels very cheaper than the previous releases but i blame RBW for that.

the main thing I disagree with you on is that Encore is messy. personally i don't find it disjointed at all and tbh it's one of my favourite purki b-sides, but maybe that's just because of my general music taste XD also i think this could have a really fun choreography! think of something like Yena's Wiked Love, i could imagine it being really spooky and theatrical and fun personally this is my favourite album since Cabin Fever, but as i said, that's just cause the previous two albums weren't really my style of music I appreciate your honest but respectful review a lot!! <3

I think since Jieun left, I find some parts of their new songs and stage performace empty. With 7 heaven, I kinda lost interest with them. Though I still give them a stream but maybe not as hard as sweet juice and other past release.

aww i hate that you didn’t enjoy this album as much as you’d hoped :( bbx was a big disappointment for me, so i understand. i however, think this is one of my favorite albums from them!! i just loved every song so much! I’ll be honest, i usually don’t like their ballads in a “I’ll like it on Spotify but I’ll usually always skip it” way keshhsks but i really liked this one! i think it’s the lyrics that did it for me! even though we have different opinions, i can agree with all your reasonings lol! chaein really shined for me this comeback! at least you’ll have a bunch of new content to watch!! ❤

I like this album more than BBB, I liked Festa as a one off but I definitely like the vibe and the b sides on the album more. Although I am starting to feel worried about them the sales are so low.

Just want to say concrete jungle is probably one of my fav intros from them, i got the vibe of the title and album right away and it just hits so hard

When I saw the teaser pictures with the horns, I thought there would be more of a meaning as well. Overall, the album is okay but it doesn't have anything that stands out too much for me. I know the BXX album was a hit or miss, though I enjoyed it because vocals popped out and their B-sides were highly replayable.

I’m just happy we get more purple kiss music. I love all of their songs no matter what.

I think sweet nightmare would have fitted the Angel/Devil concept better and could have been a strong title. I wish that and on my bike had been two comebacks, it feels like some missed potential

I think encore is the most danceable song out of all lol... They should definitely have a choreo for this with a puppet concept

I just finished listening to Headway, the latest album for Purple Kiss. The title track On My Bike is probably high up there for me on all the October releases we've had this year. Top Three for sure. In terms of the b-tracks, I'm starting to believe that Go Eun is the best person who writes for Purple Kiss. (Sweet Nightmare and Encore have no reason to be that good). Even Swan's Light My Way is decent, and I'm normally not into her more slower songs. It's a solid comeback and a good album, but then again I'm biased when it comes to Purple Kiss. I just wanted to point out that Go Eun tends to write some of my favorite songs of theirs, and I'm starting to think the fandom (and K-Pop stans in general) have been sleeping on her talent. Not only is the woman an amazing vocalist, a beauty, and can dance with the best of them, but she's writing these b-tracks like she's Soyeon.

Title track definitely a banger. Their voices definitely shine with the rock sound and honestly very refreshing to hear from them in the kpop landscape. I might get a concussion listening to this song on repeat because I can't help but headbang to the bridge xD. The mini album is a pleasant listen, but it sort of lacks their variety/versatility? It's basically half dark creepy spooky and half mellow and easy listening, which personally I won't complain about because I'm a fan of slower songs. But when you have a group as talented as these girls and you know how capable they are to pull off many genres, I can't help but yearn for that variety yanno. Imagine being floored by songs that absolutely highlight their vocal strengths: Goeun's powerful belts and runs. Swan's alluring technique. Chaein's pop/rnb identity. Like even Ireh's clear and bright vocals and Dosie's sweet tone have grown to be some of my favorite voices in the scene. And while I do love how Yuki adapts herself to fit every song, man I pray for the day we just let her go off the leash and go full bars on us. I'll forever manifest for that day (and a full album), but right now I'm going to enjoy this comeback because they still slayed this one.

This comeback is so much better than BBB and 7heaven. I think my fav songs in the album are Encore and On my bike. Concrete Jungle is a good intro. I really like Sweet Nightmare too. Light the way is not a bad song, but it's just mid and forgettable. They def have better ballad songs. The MV was quite simple but good. I still prefer Sweet Juice and Ponzona but On my bike is def on my top3 title tracks. Overall, I'm just glad their dark concept came back. This is not their strongest album, but not their weakest (BBX...).

I agree with what you said about ON MY BIKE and basically nothing else hahahaha This might be my favorite Purki album. I adore all the b-sides. Concrete Jungle is just okay, maybe my least favorite intro, but the standard is high with intros. Sweet Nightmare is my favorite on the album followed closely by Light the way. I love them both so much. I like Encore giving us creepy Purki for the first time in a long time. the dark and the rock of pk is back, but the music quality isn't. songs actually are not that bad, but the arrangement absolutely not at the rbw's standard. it feels like something from debut group of indie labels.

To me this is a vast improvement over how empty and lifeless BBB felt both musically and creatively so I’m all for it, but I’m counting down the days till PK tries the horror aesthetic again
