July 4th Cody Stampede Rodeo Skitt with Larry the Cable Guy, he was the Grand Marshal for this year's parade. I would've started recording this earlier but I had no idea this was coming. They didn't do this when I went on the 1st. I'm sorry about the sound quality, I have no idea why it happened.

On my way home when I strolled upon this flatbed on fire, there were people that were there before me but left so I figured somebody must've called it in so I was waiting for the law to show up. A guy pulled up behind me so I approached him and asked him if anyone called the Sheriff and he said they told him he was the first caller, I was like what! I didn't want to drive past this vehicle with...

      As long as your animals know they are apart of the family then usually they won't hurt each other especially if they're all loved and treated well. You do have to be precautious of certain critters tho, I love my cats but I don't trust them with small animals especially birds. Thank you for watching! Love from the USA!

    • @heidimarchant5438
      @heidimarchant5438 2 роки тому

      If you're talking about the rehaul trucks as in this video then it's because they're belly dumps which means when they release the contents of the trailer it unloads between the axles instead of raising the bed and emptying thru a back gate. They drive over a pit that allows them to dump the load down into it. I will post a barly unload to put it into a better perspective for you. I hope this helps and thank you for watching😊

    Why does the top of the pile need to be leveled?

    • @heidimarchant5438
      @heidimarchant5438 2 роки тому

      Flat surfaces are exposed less to weather conditions and prevents deterioration. In other words if the beets have to be left on the pile grounds for a length of time then they won't rot as fast. It also helps taking temperature checks easier because some have to climb the pile to do that. Thanks a million for your question and comment and view! 🤗

      The pin that goes into the bottom of the ram was cracked, has been for years but they usually just keep welding it together. The farm has gone thru some employee changes an I think it got overlooked plus a different driver plus a lot of mud, it was a combination of things but that trailer has always spooked me,. why is the seed direct harvested and not swathed just wondering the reason . What yield is about normal for the location thanks

    • @heidimarchant5438
      @heidimarchant5438 4 роки тому

      We sell the seed and burn the rest. We put a defoliant on it to be able to harvest the seed due to our short growing season which doesn't make it quality feed for livestock. Tilling it under after burning it makes great ground for rotating crop the next season. Typical yield is 800 to 1,000 pounds per acre give or take, depending on the wether of course. Just to be clear alfalfa (if not grown for just seed) is typically swathed and bailed just like any hay and sent across the country, we get about 3 cuttings a year or season and that goes to livestock in regards to regular alfalfa. It'll grow back continually regardless of how many times you cut it as long as water and good weather provides.

    • @heidimarchant5438
      @heidimarchant5438 4 роки тому

    Can you plant an acre or so of alfalfa and harvest the seed by hand? Do you thrash it like you do wheat?Thanks for the video 😀

    • @heidimarchant5438
      @heidimarchant5438 4 роки тому

      Hi, great question! We don't thrash alfalfa the same as wheat because the combine has to be set up differently. Same concept yes but different process. Because of our short growing season, we spray our alfalfa with a defoliant to die it off so we can harvest it. You can cut off water and use a swather to cut it into windrows and dry it that way like beans. If you want just a small plot you can do it by hand but it's extremely labor intensive and you risk loosing a good portion of seed. You can also use a scythe instead of a swather. Where we live, we rely on an irrigation system and not the weather. If youre doing it by hand and have a barn you may even be able to hang it up like spices but you'd want it to develop seeds first. I hope this helps and good luck😉
