      I said pumice stone for toilets because they’re more softer of a pumice then the ones for pedicure , the one for toilets breaks down easier and gets the stuff off stoves and toilets with easy and barely using elbow grease

    thanks so much for your video. I happen to have cedar shavings. could those work?

    • @kerschnerfarmstead
      @kerschnerfarmstead 2 місяці тому

      So this is a hard one to answer because SOME varieties of cedar are food safe and SOME are toxic. So I would probably err on the side of caution and not use them unless you know what type of tree they came from ☺️. Hope this was helpful! Have a blessed day. ~ Kirstie

    My recipe is super simple. It's just apple cider vinegar, enough sugar to be fairly sweet, salt, and pepper, and some herbs. Boil. Then, pickle the eggs with slices of onion and a couple of cloves of garlic. Wait one week. I just call them sweet onion pickled eggs. They're delicious.

    Thanks for the new info on the lids. Did you wash the apricots, and how? Now I want to see how you'd do this process "cold" - am somewhat confused lol!

    • @kerschnerfarmstead
      @kerschnerfarmstead 5 місяців тому

      So to cold start when canning fruit you will start with cold jars, cold product and a cold canning pot. You will get your jars ready the same way only everything is cold/cool. Then put them in your canning pot filled with cold/cool water and bring it to a boil. Once your pot reaches a boil you will start your timer and process the same. I hope this helps!

    When you concentrate melons the fact that they’re a gourd becomes more obvious so some of those savory gourd-flavors that we know from gourds like butternut squash and pumpkins becomes more prominent. Especially noticeable if you heat dry instead of freeze dry.
