I worked in Fred and Murrays in Brooklyn in the 1960 era. I was there the day, they threw out their knish supplier and Murray decided to make his own. I participated in this basement project of experimenting. The knishes looked different, but they were really good. The ones in this video, are the outcome. This was what they looked like.

My hometown for the past 38 years now! Moved here when I was 5. BOY is it waaaaaay more crowded around here than it used to be (just in the past 20yrs, the "population explosion" has been terrible!). ANYWAYS... lol YEP!! Can confirm! This place has a GREAT pie!! I liken it a bit to "Vic's" in Belmar (I believe?) ...although I haven't had their pie in quite some time now. The sauce is just excellent, imo!
