Thanks for uploading, Stefan. How were the trips to Moscow and Australia, in the end? Average, below par or beyond expectation?
They were both excellent in very different ways; the trip to Moscow was the more interesting because it was a very interesting point in history. The trip was in early 1988, so some opening up but still notionally a communist régime.

I tend to agree, I've forgotten how good early Paxman was.
This was when Paxman was fast, and amused by the teams, seeming to be a good replacement for Bamber G. Now, he is slow and sour! Also the questions were shorter and more direct then, whereas today, they are longer, with added hints.
He has pd. He's leaving next year. Amol rajan, a correspondent of radio 4's today will replace him.
