ARCHERY DEER

Nevada archery deer success. This was a special buck. It's been 20 years since I harvested a mule deer with my bow... I hope you enjoy!
According to ndow the fish were all wiped out after the flooding a few summers back
Where did you buy the bag? Great video!
Which first lite outer jacket were you wearing?
I put them in my bag for all the reasons you mentioned. Safety and they have saved my day on cold MT hunts in November. They are so nice to have. I have the western mountaineering pants. They are worth every dime and made in the USA.
100%
I killed elk last week of Sept in Colorado… and live in NC! Shoulders, hams, back straps and tenderloins the processor in Hotchkiss Colorado called and said I yelled 116lb of meat which seemed super low to me? It is being shipped to North Carolina where I live at a cost of an arm and leg. Does anyone else think a 5x6 mature bull this sounds wrong?
It's such a hard thing to figure out. I find that when I go with the butcher I get less. When you do it on your own you are getting every little bit you can off the animal. I got a decent mule deer buck back from a butcher and only got 33 lbs and I've got more out of my whitetail does when butchering myself so I think that waste does happen when you go via butcher when they are cutting quick and focused on speed. I don't think it's theft but just they aren't focused on getting every last bit off the animal is my guess. It's hard to balance. When that happens to me, I may just make more burger and mix in normal burger to make the animal last longer. Congrats on the bull! I'm sure it will taste great!
Well, did you like them?
Yeah they did great for me.
6.8 western for anything you want it to be for. It's just that good!
@@bustabass9025 it is!

It's a great tent!
Absolutely awesome! Introducing the next generation to the outdoors is our God ordained job as dads. Totally miss you on GoHunt.
Agreed and thank you for the kind words!

Bryan , this is the type of camping that I miss doing. When I was a scout master we did a lot of hikes like this. Your son Spencer is learning some great skills but what you and him are doing together is stuff that will last him forever! Also sometimes just not hunting is cool too. Keep it up my friend!
@@bobrasmusen1029 thanks Bob! I like the low stress camps like this! They are fun!

Thanks
Thank you for posting this video. I was debating the two knives.
Glad it helped! Which one did you end up going with?
@@opencountryhunterI want with the sawtooth given the added length. We’ll see how it performs with elk this season.
@@michaelw.5921 Awesome! I used it on my archery buck last month and it worked great!
I live in Colorado and I quit all hunting because the state has made it more of a pain in the ass to get your tags to go hunting and nowadays they keep a majority of the money you put in when you don't get your tags that is a rip-off that is just disgusting I will no longer give the state of Colorado my money for hunting or fishing they can kiss my hairy butt
Desert is chocolate covered snow
Congrats Bryan, well deserved. Love the raw emotion and taking us along. Doesn't get better than your pops up there taking meat off the mountain either. Well done on a Great Buck!
Thanks Casey and yes it was way cool to have my Dad help on that pack out! Great memories!
Congratulations Bryan on a great long awaited archery 🏹 mule deer 🦌. I am so happy 😀 for you. I almost got emotional 🥹 with you. I know how hard it is and what it is like to try at something for a long time and finally accomplish that goal.
Thanks man!
@@opencountryhunter you are quite welcome 🙏 Bryan
Awesome video. Was there any water where you parked your truck? There used to be to be huge ponds around the sign up there.
Not after hillary, all washed out. Haven't had any luck finding fish either, probably hiked a mile up from where you first see water.
Pretty cool scouting and hunting video. Way to incorporate the younger generation in finding a buck 🦌
Awesome footage man thanks for sharing 🤙🏽 Say did you draw any cool tags this year guy?
Did you order your typical size? I've read some people go up 1/2 size with Hanwag.
Congrats 🦌🏹💪🏻
Thank you!
Muy bonito venado y muy buen trabajo disfruten la carne saludos desde Las Vegas
Thank you!

Excellent! That is how you do it! Congrats.
Thank you sir!
Congrats. This was a good representation of how bow hunting feels. Thanks for sharing.. My son just posted his Utah 2024 archery buck video and after watching it I came here.
Thank you for your kind words. Bowhunting is something else! Drop the link to his video here! I'll check it out! Congrats to him!

Great Buck!!! So happy for you!
Thanks Bob!
Congrats on the harvest! Hard work pays off!
Thank you!
Thanks for taking the time to do this. I currently carry a Victorinox boning knife but am looking for a one knife option. Thanks to your videos I'm going to go with an Argali Carbon. Thanks!
Thanks Nicholas! The Carbon is a great knife! I hope you get to use it this year!
This was my go to 10 years ago. Now I can’t imagine anything less than an air conditioned tear drop. Still have this tent, wasting away in the attic.
I totally get that! We used it on our Colorado elk hunt last year and it was a life saver in the snow! ua-cam.com/video/e7pZ5nh0Dn4/v-deo.html
@@opencountryhunter That’s a great video. Now that you mention it, I prefer the Marmot in cold weather. It’s just always so hot here in Dallas.
@@nate.leal. Camping in the heat is no fun! Tear drops come in handy in those conditions!
PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO SHOOT VIDEO WITHOUT THE FOCUS GOING BLURRY
Some cameras will have a focus lock setting. I'm not 100% sure if the FZ300 does or not but I would check google and see if it does and then you can focus on a target and lock in the focus while filming. Good luck!
The 6.8 is a late bloomer...people are starting to see real life performance and its gonna be a steady slow incline in popularity
