The two young guys here in the video are their producers (handsome Dexter and 91 shots) and their writers. People seem to think they're pete and bas' grandkids, but that doesnt seem to actually be the case. They have four tracks of their own here on YT under the rap names Nine and Dex, three of which are worth a listen. I'd check out "Pecan Pie" and "Ignorant Shit" from them.

Remember, Bas was a jazz musician/composer/arranger and Pete was in a Ska band. They know musical structure, phrasing (scanting which lead to rap) and swing. No surprise they can do this.

I have a feeling this gonna be one of the hardest album drops..gat-daum ever. I still cant believe this is real life when it comes to these two!...Its a hell of a thing to be able to witness. If you dont get inspired by these two...you cant be inspired!

BTW, we ALL need to buy their album this month. Everyone from youtubers to rap lovers have gotten SO MUCH enjoyment out of these guys. We need to drive their album up the charts. They deserve to be at the top of the charts in their life time> Absofuckinglutely.

There just aren't many voices in rap that meld together like P&B's. Their age gives teir voices a very distinct sound. Pete's rasp just sounds so cool, but then Bas' smooooth bass voiec and unequaled flow balances that out. They're like sweet and sour or sweet and savory. And on top of that, they don't do simply bars or simple flows AND they tend to switch up their flows multiple times in a single track. They're playing at a level that takes most rappers and writers half a life time to get to.

You've likely heard the story, but Pete's grandaughter used to always play drill rap when he drove her around. At first, it annoyed him, but he started to come a round. Asked her for the names of some drill rappers he should listen to. He came to legitimately be a fan of rap music and when he met Bas (who was currently a piano teacher, but had formerly been: a bare nuckle underground street fighter, former military, a lawyer, a piano player on a cruise ship, dropped a piano album of his own, then a music teacher, etc), he talked to Bas about the music and they kicked around the idea of making their own rap music. Since Pete's grandson (Nine) is also a rapper, he started producing their beats. Between Pete and Bas's flow and writing and Nine's production, they just have this fucking magical product that outshines even most of the best in the business today.
