The last 8 days of August, my brother and I put over 1,100 miles on our Triumph Tigers in Colorado and Utah. This is a small tease of what's to come.

Take a ride with Tammy and I on Arkansas's last Ferry Boat. Peel Ferry. A two mile, 20 minute ride across Bull Shoals Lake. We also get to see all 17 gates open on Bull Shoals Dam. Oh yeah, we climb another old fire tower.

Have you ever been on a small Ferryboat? Peel Ferry is the last operating ferry in Arkansas. Crossing part of Bull Shoals Lake. A 2 mile 20 minute ride. Open since 1968. Operating from 7am to 6pm every day. I will have the full video in a week or so.

    My father bought an 04 RS Warrior brand new when I was a kid. He rode it for years until he finally upgraded to a 24 Goldwing. He was gracious enough to hand it down to me since it's been sitting his garage for a year, practically begged me to take it. I'm in love with the thing, coming from a DRZ400. So much power and 5 gears is plenty for a Warrior compared to reaching for a 6th constantly on my DRZ. Super comfortable with instant torque, and ability to move as nimbly as my supermoto.

    thanks for the vid. How many miles do you get out of a rear tyre? thanks again.

    • @OzarkHillsAdventures
      @OzarkHillsAdventures Місяць тому

      @peterdoyle3463 Over twice as many on a front tire. Only around 3,500 on the back of a sportbike and 6-7,000 on a cruiser. I've tried all brands. They all run within a few hundred miles of each other. I've slowed down a little, but for several years I averaged 17,000 miles a year on my bikes.

    • @peterdoyle3463

      @@OzarkHillsAdventures thanks again mate, good to know as thinking about moving to one of these. That rear tyre costs nearly as much as a set on my V7MG. The bike is my main mode of transport too, but not as many miles as you're doing. Some more power would be nice.

      @peterdoyle3463 Your welcome. Have you heard of the Korean brand of tires, Shinko? They are priced much lower than the more expensive brand tires. I think the life and performance are great for the price..

    I just bought an 04 fjr from the original owner. So far I love the bike but hate the seat. I've ordered a Laam custom seat. Im also going to lower the footpegs and install bar risers. (I'm tall) Riding this thing the engine feels almost electric, doesn't really matter which gear you're in, it pulls smooth and keeps going. Winter is right around the corner here so I'm getting it dialed to take a few longer trips next summer.

    • @OzarkHillsAdventures
      @OzarkHillsAdventures Місяць тому

      @goldentrunnell7450 Very cool. Congratulations. Mine had the upgraded heated seat that was very comfortable. And yes, the bar risers will help a lot. I believe you will really like your new bike.

      @OzarkHillsRider I was looking for a zx14 but this fjr was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up. Now that I've been riding it for a while I believe you're right, I think I'm going to have some good times on it. I've never had a bike with "bags" before, even running to the store for a few things it's actually nice having somewhere to put things.

    This information may help with the investigation: J.R. Ewing won more business deals than he lost, but sometimes his rivals got the better of him. Carter McKay undermined J.R.’s attempt to become chairman of Westar and Jeremy Wendell forced the sale of Ewing Oil, while Cliff Barnes wound up owning the company. Other rivals included Rebecca Wentworth, who waged corporate warfare against the Ewings, and Clayton Farlow, who squashed J.R.’s attempt to shut down the Farlow refineries. 😅

    I think my greatgrandma was originally from the Irish Wilderness being one of the Irish that was terrorized by both Union and Confederate forces during the Civil War. She ended up around Warsaw. The history is a bit dim that far back and I don't think she talked much about her early life. But I am thinking I want to come look around down there especially at the cemeteries.
