I bought my Pescador Pilot Pro 12 from Academy in December 2017. It appears I got the "updated" drive. However, I have found the drive's mount system to be sub-par at best. The 5/32" hex fasteners Get loose from just normal pedaling, not even hard pedaling. THen the mount allows slop to creep in and next thing you know the drive keeps popping up. Extremely annoying. I began carrying a 5/32" Allen Wrench with me to tighten down the mount and take out the slop so I could continue my day's fishing. Before that, I had to bring a length of paracord so I could tie a bowline around the pedal shaft and rig a "harness" back to the chair frame to keep the drive head from pivoting forward and popping out. But today's fishing outing took the prize for frustration. The left-rear hex fastener on the drive mount TORE OUT of the deck altogether! It took the plastic section with it. Paracord to the rescue...again. Since the interior of the kayak cannot be accessed, the only way I will be able to repair this bad design is to get some kind of heavy-duty MollyBolt-type fastener to drill thru the deck, insert the MollyBolt and then tighten down the hex fastener withtbe 5/32" Allen wrench. Here's the thing - since I no longer trust any of the other four drive-mount fasteners, I reckon I will have to do this repair to all four fasteners, not just the one that tore out. I no longer have confidence in this drive nor it's mount. It gets worse. About a year or so ago, Perception & Wilderness corporate parent CONFLUENCE was bought out by a French-Canadian kayak manufacturer. So I have no idea what kind of customer service I will get from the factory when I call this week.

Great video I absolutely loved it. Great casting and great hooksets! The camera mounted behind is perfect. Not sure why you keep looking back like a 3 yo wanting his dads approval. Checking to see if you are still recording I’d guess. Also just a tip, when bass hit right next to the boat... do a thumb drag..... release the spool and give them 30 sec to run... but control it so it doesn’t get slack. All that said.... best video I’ve seen from kayaks in the hill country!!

Do you have a rudder on that kayak? It doesn't seem to drift when you stop paddling. I was thinking about getting the same kayak to fish rivers and creeks.
