Great breakdown. A fatal flaw of pops defensive schemes is having his guard die on screens and go UNDER which just does not work in the modern game. We saw it all of last season and 3/4 of this game until the middle of the 4th. Almost every P&R resulted in Pops guys sinking under and leaving the guard wide open behind the arc, thankfully this was adjusted from the very beginning of the Houston game and the results speak for themselves. Its such a simple change that makes a world of difference I hope it isn't short lived.

Good job! Yeah, Spurs looked very unprepared defensively in Game 1. These are all problems that can be fixed quickly.

I think communication is the main factor. Castle, Wemby, and Sochan are excellent defenders just need to talk more. I can see the defense improve in the next couple of games.

The Spurs will turn this kid into another All Star. Willing passer, good bball IQ/court vision, a winner and a Dawg on D. His size at that position will be a huge problem for opponents. Coach Hurley is right, Castle could be a bigger Jrue Holiday.

We won't see his true playmaking or scoring skills until the Spurs get proper spacing. Still, I think if he were to be playing 30mpg he could average around 5-6 AST with this squad which is excellent for a rookie.
