Artist: Neurosis Song: Purify Album: Through Silver in Blood (1996) Lyrics: Blazing eye sees all Nature of firey triumph Patterns unfold Whispers revealing Path of spiral reaps Fetal buried gold Humbled in the womb A centre opens To the unknown Can you feel your fate Can you see you're Biding time hide From your life Drowning in the birth Place of the sun Descending the path Of an ascending god...
IMMENSI I NEUROSIS METAL FOREVER AND PUNK IS NOT DEAD 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤
The song "Purify" by Neurosis depicts a journey of spiritual transformation and personal purification. The lyrics employ vivid imagery and metaphors to paint a picture of introspection, growth, and the quest for enlightenment. The opening lines ("Blazing eye sees all / Nature of fiery truth") suggest the presence of an all-seeing and all-knowing force, possibly representing a higher power or inner consciousness. The "Patterns unfold / Whispers revealing" symbolize the unveiling of hidden truths or insights that guide the protagonist along their path. The lyrics "Path of spiral reaps / Fetal buried gold" imply the discovery and exploration of deep-seated potential within oneself. This journey is characterized by humility and a recognition of one's origins, as indicated by the line "Humbled in the womb / A center opens / To the unknown." The line "Set your mind to soil" implies grounding oneself and connecting with the earth, perhaps suggesting the importance of finding balance and stability during this transformative process. The closing lines ("Flames to blades / On earth, stabbing / Scorching sacred lust / Fall back to stone / Fall back on spear") depict a confrontation with primal instincts and desires. This could represent a necessary reckoning with one's shadow self or deeply ingrained patterns that hinder spiritual progress. Overall, "Purify" explores the themes of inner transformation, spiritual awakening, and the pursuit of enlightenment. It portrays a journey that requires humility, sacrifice, and self-reflection while acknowledging the struggle to overcome personal obstacles and find alignment with higher truths.

Sound on my mind reminds me of a old Cortázar short story, about a 20 century Guy who out of blue, find himself being chase by natives from a another era.
How is this heavier than EYE tho?
My soundtrack during the early days of the pandemic along with Godspeed and Swans
Amazing song
guitar tone ? pls
🤘🤘
There are so many great albums, magnum opuses in metal, however I often find that, when I check out such an album, I'm a bit disappointed. Maybe I expect too much, but for me, a lot of the iconic albums of metal bands are just not as great as I expect them to be. Here it is not the case, it hits the nail right on the head. I never had a drug fueled trip, never took acid, or a mushroom, or anything like that, but listening to Neurosis still gives you that transcendent feeling, which is no small feat. I have not really heard any other band that managed to do that. Maybe some older Meshuggah, or Paradise Lost; but this is just a different kind of hit.
Try listening to Stoned Jesus. Ukrainian band (god damn wars!). I'm the Mountain transcended me at the workplace when I heard it first.
@@kapiljoshey8989 Yes, I know them, they're great for sure :)
One of the greatest to ever do it. All their albums are great. They tap into some primordial spirits when they write it seems.
Never heard this band until I went to see them on a whim and now my life is fucked.
Why did they remove it from Spotify (sad smiley)
I came here for that very reason. Times of Grace is missing too. That's too bad 😔
One of the best songs ever from one of the best 90s album
THIS IS COMPRESSED INSANITY ...ENRICHED INSANITY.....PURIFIED MADNESS
I got this album on release and straight away knew it was special. The artwork, titles, lyrics and music all fell into place nicely. Purify, to me is the heaviest song ever.
Fuckin' shit, this song is amazing.
04:35 here we fucking go!! Build up is incredible in this song!! ughhh
The bagpipe outro has to be one of the finest moments of any metal album period. Such a shame they never break this one out live anymore.
along with the second half of Aeon, that part is probably the best in history of music, I also love your pfp
There is so much love in here.
Play this at my funeral
I did ..rip buddy, you will be missed
This song sent me to God himself, well I was tripping on cid lol
What a fuking masterpiece
I legit feel sorry for people that haven’t sat down with a song like this and just absorbed it.
👏👏👏
And I'm fine, I'm not sorry.

First time listening. This song KILLS 🤘
In my eyes this is the greatest and most complete song of all times.
are you blind?
My pick is " symptom of the universe" black sabbath but we will never agree it is UA-cam.
This song always manages to "Purify" any anxiety, stress, and depression I may deal with. \m/
amazing, huh? the majority of humanity doesn't know how robbed they are with their FCC approved Hollywood stamped playlist of mediocre bottom barrel recyclicationary drivel
@@dont.ripfuller6587 nice description

@@tfwnoyandere Yah, but that's not where I'm coming from, pinky promise. The stuff I described (out of fistration that it's even an issue) is quite literally fine tuned and designed to go against our natural frequencies at a cellular level, while redundantly numbing the mind with banality and "art" created from a marketing standpoint. It hasn't always been like this, and perhaps it may see a shift in the future, but calling it as I see it now, the standard of what is most broadly broadcast is set pitifully low from where it could be. Just my opinion, I appreciate the call out 🤙🏼✌🏽
ey, Quaigon ..
Listening to this feels your an astronaut that just got your lifeline severed from the ship and now your drifting further and further into the vast emtpiness of space
This song is sheer dread personified
space is fake, Copernicus lied
They said this is the heaviest of all time. I don't know. Maybe. But I did enjoy it, unlike most of those "heaviest songs ever." So yeah.
ben shapiro is tramns-gpobic
That pfp is high quality
dont remember making this comment honestly but thanks
love the ending
Came here while procrastinating. Certainly not time wasted.
This is the only song that would be acceptable to play at Satan's funeral
Fascinating comment. Are you sad about the fallen cherub's demise?

This is the best Heavy Metal song in the world.
Oh my fucking god
I came here because I felt I needed a truly transcendental experience on my birthday. I was not disappointed.
James The Animator happy birthday in three months. Also nice DEP pfp.
you could try making spaghetti with this RoxyRaye girls recipe if you want to get transcendent
Pure fucking energy...
I really want to get into Neurosis, but I despise hardcore punk. This song is incredible though.
Sam Socash It's post-metal officially, but the vocals may have an influence from hardcore punk.
Listen to the tide and stones from the sky.
Just go on and listen to them trust me
Nolan Beasinger The Tide was the first song I heard from them and I loved it. Have had Souls at Zero and Enemy of the Sun on repeat since. Not always too sure of the messages, but I feel like the lyrics are well written.
Its Neurosis. Its not anything else.
saw these guys open for Entombed in uk NeuBastardRosis rule!"
Saw this band open for PANTERA in 1997. Good show. \m/
YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Lol Pantera should have opened for them

meh its alright . good musicianship. just not that into it i guess.
Have seen them twice, but probably not in years. They did a killer show at the old Trocadero Transfer in SF. Met Jello Biafra. Truck got broken into. Slept on a beach as the sun came up. Memorable evening.
I think i find the People who give a drop down, and kill them.
AWESOME TRACK!!!
this is why the band is called neurosis ImI
Fucking masterpiece
