A Room with a Zoo: My Wild Experience, Review & Tour
Welcome to Costa Rica’s wild side, at Lapa Rios Lodge on Costa Rica’s remote Osa Peninsula, part of our best resorts and hotels in Costa Rica series. The lodge is set in a rainforest that meets the ocean, and your neighbors are monkeys, sloths, and toucans. Sounds like a dream, right? In this video I’ll take you on a full tour and share my experience staying at this super unique resort, and let’s see if the reality lives up to the price tag.
PLEASE USE OUR BOOKING LINK HERE:
Join me and my friend Maria as we embark on a safari-esque adventure. From a bumpy jeep ride to a thatched-roof lobby that might leave you questioning your investment, we’re diving into every detail. We’ll explore the 17-room lodge, its lone restaurant, and the bar by the pool (because, trust me, you’ll need a drink after dealing with some of the wildlife).
I’ll take you on a room tour with stunning views, though the lack of AC might surprise you. We’ll check out the tiny pool, the jungle spa, and the activities-spoiler alert, they’re mostly walking tours and might not justify the hefty price.
And don’t miss my take on the food: decent, but the restaurant vibe? Not so much. Plus, the bar’s soundtrack might transport you back to your awkward teenage years with its 90s and 2000s pop hits.
Ready to find out if Lapa Rios is worth the splurge? Buckle up and hit play!

      Yeah, not if you do not want to walk down flights of stairs to get to the hotel. Not if you do not want anyone to help you with luggage. Not of you want quiet in your hotel room at night. Not if you do not want drunk people singing ‘til all hours right outside your bed. Not if you expect soundproof windows. Not if you want quiet plumbing. Not if you want helpful staff. And not if you don’t want to walk through a cloud of smoke to get onto the boat on the gangway as this is where the smokers are hanging out.

    • @SwankGuide
      @SwankGuide 9 днів тому

      Hi there... guess it depends on how cold you like it.... and rain... I was there from mid September to mid October, I think a great time togo b/c you still get sunny days and by late September N lights are quite possible. Remember key to seeing N lights is no/minimal cloud cover, dark skys (i.e. June wont work), and solar activity... all those things have to line up. Good luck. I have a video in my Iceland series about chacing the N lights

    • @WillyAndreBergstrom
      @WillyAndreBergstrom 11 годин тому

      In southern Norway, November is likely the most miserable month. Cold, dark and wet, but without the Christmas vibe or the upcoming spring to look forward to. As for northern lights, sources differ. Some say November through January if you're going up north, others say late september/october and march/early april is statistically the highest activity periods.

That entryway when you walk in is epic. It’s beautiful if I could post pictures in this comment. I would you have to be there to know what I’m talking about. And it is the best in Montego Bay. Not sure if you've been to Round Hill, about 20-30 min outside on MoBay... I think it's better than Half Moon but no right or wrong.. it comes down to pesobnal prefernce. I'm not rying to tell people where to stay, just giving them enough info I hope to make the best decisions for themselves....

They also allowed us to go on the side where the villas were and where Prince Harry and his family like to stay. We actually got to go in the room. It was nice. It had almost like a Cape Cod feel. . I actually stayed there but ended up not recomending it b/c the nightclub across the street was so loud until 2-3 AM coundt sleep.... that was why it's not on my list. Did you have a different experience?

    I rode horses here when I was a kid (the horses were in the carriage house back then), and we were married there in 1996, and had our 20th anniversary dinner there. It holds a very special place in my heart...

    Was at this resort in April of 2024 for my girlfriend’s birthday, and it was amazing! Worth every penny!

      Glad you enjoyed it.... I stayed at 24 places in Costa Rica so relative to other places in Costa Rica I think it's really overpriced... just my opinion.

    $1300 a night isnt worth it IMO. You can get a huge airbnb for half that.

      Yeh maybe.... bad design and overpriced resorts do get me worked up especailly when there are sooo amny better options in Costa Rica at 1/2 or even 1/4 of the price.
