You all have the wrong idea... the chinchilla didn't bite him. They just don't understand that other animals don't like to be groomed hard. Chinchillas have 70 hairs per follicle so they groom each other a lot, and very roughly. Other animals with less hair get pinched by the grooming and don't like it. Unfortunately, chinchillas just don't mix well with other pets... they either want to eat the chinchilla or keep it away because it pinches.

Beautiful dog. Cute chinchilla. Id be cautious having these two animals in the same room together. We've got the dog: predator and the chinchilla: prey animal. If either animal makes the wrong move on the other (as we just saw when the chinchilla bit the dog on the leg) one or both could get seriously injured or hurt. Predators and prey animals don't really mix. Jmo

Well, that was a surprising turn of events. Great job listening Cruiser!!. Turns out the Chinchilla was the bad boy. P.S. I could see them interacting "if" it was your Chinchilla and you were trying to get "brothers" to get used to each other. But, not YOUR dog and your FLATMATES Chinchilla(many things could have went wrong, and you would have been held liable in court).
