Buick Regal Wiper Parking Issue
Переглядів 52 тис.12 років тому
Wipers wouldn't park in the correct position when turned off...wipers would park pointing straight up. Solution is shown in this video
Thanks you are the man! I looked at at least 10 videos on this situation and yours was the best. Short and right to the point.
Thank you!
Thank you for the video! This video helped me eliminate a vehicle headache!
I have a problem that my tab (due to this happening a few times) broke off. I need to replace the wiper motor parking plate (the part with the tab) but I have not been able to find one anywhere. If anyone knows where I could get a replacement part that would be great.
Worked for me. Thanks for posting
It worked,Thank you for the video.
The little black tab!!! Thank you so much! Driving with the wipers straight up was making me crazy! My 2001 Buick Century will be much safer and nicer to drive now that the weather is getting wet and cold. Thanks again!!
Where was the wiper parking before you fixed it?
Straight up. Right where they would obscure the road the worst.
I'm just having issues getting my wiper arms off if anyone can help
You have probably figured something out by now, but I used a wiper arm puller. Tells the wiper arm "Resistance is futile!" Similar to this one: smile.amazon.com/Lisle-54150-Battery-Terminal-Puller/dp/B000I14RY6/ref=sr_1_6?crid=8AIMFH56U5X9&dchild=1&keywords=wiper+arm+puller&qid=1605999158&sprefix=wiper+arm+puller%2Caps%2C190&sr=8-6
Just got my 97 Regal's fixed. Took a while to figure out though. Thanks.😉
I only have this issue when it's cold out like winter
I did, too. I think the part that is supposed to catch on the little black tab might get sticky in winter because the 20 year old grease that's supposed to lubricate it gets thicker in cold weather. So, after bending the little black tab, I also shot some WD-40 into the mechanism that catches on the tab.
Thanks, don't know if you are still active but thanks for this video. You saved me a lot of money
Leonard Currie You're welcome!
I did not have to bend the tab. Mine was solid so I saw no reason to believe it moved. I poked at the pawl (the part that catches the tab) and made sure it was free. It worked. I then added some oil and tested it a few times and it worked so I put everything back together. I repaired a 97 regal.
Thank you, 2000 grand prix. I'll try it.
This worked. Took me about 20 minutes start to finish. Thank you.
