Unlike Warrior Within, this game has audible EAX reverb with DSOAL so there's no need to boost it. However, environment transition is sudden even though EAX 3.0 should support smooth transitions.

It's amazing that the positional audio is being converted to a totally different (and only marginally compatible) format, then converted to a different format *again*, and yet it still manages to sound so good. Aureal was way, way ahead of its time. This must sound amazing on original hardware.
Just to be clear: I'm talking about the raw track #2 The raw 5.1 track (encoded into AAC/AC-3 by UA-cam)
It's been 3 weeks and this video still does not have a 5.1 audio track. I've checked with Apple TV4K, Samsung TV and also tried to download the video with jdownloader where I can select any format for the video and audio, and there is no sign of 6ch track to download with it. Does it take that long for youtube to process? I can listen to other 5.1 audio tracks from other videos on youtube on all my devices, but not your video. Not even using PotPlayer.

2 years late. I know windows sonic can do 15 objects vs atmos for headphones 16 objects And I believe sonic can take in a bed of 7.1.4 However I do not know if sonic undstands E-ac3 +JOC and am 98% certain dosen't understand trueHD. There is a 3rd party software that can extract E-ac3+JOC to bed channels (excludeing sparse JOC) called cavern. But they also have there own hrtf that you may as well use at that point. "This is the safest setting because Dolby Atmos over HDMI has a maximum of 20 objects, and Dolby Atmos for Headphones a maximum of 16. Windows Sonic has a maximum of 15." The headphone spatializers from Sonic/Atmos/DTS support a lot more dynamic objects, at least on recent Windows learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/coreaudio/spatial-sound#microsoft-spatial-sound-runtime-resource-implications As for E-AC3, I'm not sure about JOC but any app that uses Media Foundation may support Dolby Digital Plus (not TrueHD) Atmos decoding and spatialization through the Spatial Audio API (Sonic/Atmos/DTS) learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/medfound/dolby-audio-decoder I've used Cavern and it's great, though the HRTF isn't that great so I'm hoping this project comes together so we can play Atmos tracks converted to Cavern format with a custom HRTF ua-cam.com/video/7VfkKhpt25M/v-deo.html
@@3DJ The Microsoft documentation does not refrence anything aside from base dd+ I did notice that cavern encoder let's you load a custom hrtf may be worth a try if you have one. I have looked in to making a custom hrtf to try out ither through 3d scanning or microphones in ear. There is a chance that dolby atmos for headphones does process joc data as people have reported it working on old builds of Netflix provideing atmos when atmos for headphones is enabled and EAC-3+JOC being properly decoded in photos and media and tv with atmos for headphones.

It's not. You have no environmental sounds.
That first part might* be true because long after I posted this video, I came to find that even though my USB X-Fi sound card acts like it supports hardware acceleration, I suspect it might actually be some sort of built-in software-based emulation like ALchemy, but embedded in the card so it works in XP. I'm yet to find documentation to confirm what it's actually doing, but I think the giveaway is that hardware CMSS-3D (ct_oal.dll, which apparently this card doesn't support) sounds noticeably bright, like this card when enabling CMSS-3D in the control panel for virtual surround (maybe that part's software too), but just not when using its 3D renderer/library. Either way, EAX isn't about environmental sounds themselves, but environmental effects (particularly reverb) that's applied to the sounds. You can clearly hear the echo in the footsteps and the coins hitting the floor when EAX is being used: EAX off: ua-cam.com/video/anOs9s5qJpc/v-deo.html EAX on: ua-cam.com/video/NDBIeuy6_GU/v-deo.html EAX is also applied dynamically, depending on the environment, so the spacious reverb isn't applied until Agent 47 climbs up onto the boardwalk

To me it definitely sounds 3D with proper height effects, especially in the timestamps you linked in the description.
But that's the thing. It's really hard to tell whether it's true height or a mismatching HRTF. Without a personalized/matching HRTF, sounds can 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘮 like they're above you, but it's just a misleading, warped soundfield. It's similar to like having a real 7.1 surround speaker setup and raising the front speakers to the ceiling. Even though you technically do hear them above you, it's not a proper, positional height channel because now that stuff that's supposed to be in front of you at ear level will also sound elevated. You can also try closing your eyes and see if sounds "escape" the soundfield halo around your head, especially if it's uneven (with mismatching HRTFs, front sounds tend to be higher) This also happens to me with OpenAL Soft's default HRTF (MIT KEMAR), unless I use a matching HRTF like this ua-cam.com/video/xjlK0NeJc8A/v-deo.html Anyhow, we'd need to dig deeper into the game's code/API calls to see if it's really proper 3D spatial audio or just surround sound that happens to be virtualized by the spatial audio API. If I could replace Sonic's HRTF with mine, I'd know for sure but this HRTF is just too ambiguous for me.

How to install geo-11 with ShaderFix without installing Serendipity1.1 and ReShade to fix the corona effect or whatever the fuzzy glow/halo around lights are call, is rendered incorrectly ? I want to play the game in 3D vision but keep the original game. Please help me.
Since geo-11 requires Direct3D 11, you'll need something else to make it use that API because by default, it uses Direct3D 9 which doesn't support it. Also as far as I know, this game was never fixed for Direct3D 9, so if you wanna fix it using that API, you'd need to learn shaderhacking using helixmod helixmod.blogspot.com/2014/01/learning-how-to-fix-games.html But from what I've heard, it's easier to use 3DMigoto (part of geo-11) so then you'd need to use Serendipity, dgVoodoo2 or some other mod to make the game use Direct3D 11 first
Also, if you don't like or your PC can't handle serendipity effects, I think you can disable everything and the game would look like it does originally. I've read that dgVoodoo can complicate shader fixing, and at least we know it's doable via Serendipity. This was done by masterotaku, though, who's currently the most experienced active 3D Vision shader fixer so if there was a better way, he'd probably know
@@3DJ My setup: Win10 Pro 64bit i7 4770k + 16GB RAM GTX 980 + Nvidia Driver 452.06 + 3D Vision Driver v425.31 I installed according to the instructions on the 3D vision database and the display in the upper right corner is about 30-32 fps I then pressed the HOME key and unchecked all of Reshade's effect checkboxes. And I continued to press the F12 key to disable TAA and UseDitheringForAlphaObjects, the graphics were clearly visible but had a lot of aliasing. I went to the game's Menu to adjust Anti aliasing but could not remove aliasing so the graphics looked terrible. Second thing, when I look at a tree and many other things it has a shadow, if I close my left eye the shadow is on the right, if I close my right eye the shadow is on the left. I have disabled autoconvergence (setting "dm_auto_convergence" to 0 in "d3dxdm.ini"), but if I press Ctrl + F6 to increase convergence, I cannot adjust it manually to my liking. When pressing the Shift + F6 key, the maximum convergence display stops at 4.50 Can you show me how to remove all the effects so the game looks almost like the original. Thank you for your reply.

What do you mean by „Host OpenAL” and „Creative 3D library”? Which is „sens_oal.dll” and what is the other?
If I recall correctly, Creative ALchemy can actually use 3 different audio renderers: - Creative native OpenAL renderer (ct_oal.dll): lets the driver + hardware X-Fi sound card handle audio mixing - Creative software 3D library (dsound.dll): generic software emulation embedded into the ALchemy DLL itself, as a fallback in case ct_oal.dll fails to load - Creative Host OpenAL (sens_oal.dll): Sensaura-based software OpenAL library, which is originally meant for native OpenAL apps/games, but you can force it by renaming it to ct_oal.dll, replacing the driver library so that ALchemy thinks there's a compatible X-Fi hardware present

@@3DJ one of our most talented shader hackers finally fixed it and the performance is smooth even on a 2080. This is with the complete edition on Steam. Only issue was to have the Steam Overlay active for some strange reason. Without it there was severe stuttering. It was also reported to play around with VSync. My issue was the overlay. This is a dx9 game so there aint too much freedom.

EAX is mainly intended to make the sound environment more realistic so I'm not sure it really improves music or video, but if you really wanna do that, I know a few ways to do it on Windows: - If the player uses DirectSound output, you can use DSOAL (check out first link in this video's description) then force a reverb preset in alsoft.ini: github.com/kcat/openal-soft/blob/9d695bd3b603e8427b3a40f0c27708bf56a9ecac/alsoftrc.sample#L266 - For example, you can replace: #default-reverb = with default-reverb=Auditorium - Install EqualizerAPO then install and load this VST plugin DLL github.com/datajake1999/EAXReverb_VST/releases/latest

Is there any mod that wraps DirectX 9 to 11 for SAMP? Because RenderHook not works on SAMP.
dgVoodoo2 is probably your best bet. but the stereo 3D shaders would probably need to be re-fixed if you're looking to use geo-11. Also, SAMP might block (or even ban you, idk) if its anti-cheat (if it even has any) flags new DLLs. Though I should mention DSOAL which also requires dropping DLLs in the game folder worked fine, though it might have been because I dropped the DLLs into the C:/Windows/SysWOW64 folder, which I don't recommend messing with anyway
@@3DJ SAMP doesn't have an anti-cheat system, dgVoodoo2 isn't worked too (not opening or crashing). Do you know any other mods to wrap it? Also, SA Optimized Map mod already included in RoSa Project.
@@CanerKaraca Hmm I just know about one that converts D3D9 to Vulkan and another one to D3D12 but neither can be used with geo-11. emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Wrappers#2000's_and_later_APIs For Vulkan, there's vk3dvision and for D3D12 there's a pretty early one called Flugan's Geo3D, which you can find in the 3D Vision Discord server linked in the description, but I don't think they're neither easy nor have good results compared to geo-11 in D3D11. But anyway, RenderHook compatibility with SAMP/MTA is apparently so far-fetched that it has become a meme in their discord server so I wouldn't count on it anytime soon discord.gg/hUzU6MJjr3

I'm already using it (it's in the mod list), or do you mean it's not working properly? and EAX is basically environmental reverb (echo) filters that are applied to sound effects depending on the current scene, which SA comes with, but it's been broken since Windows XP after they broke DirectSound3D and by extension (pun intended), EAX (Environmental Audio Extensions). However, we can restore/emulate it on modern Windows using ALchemy (for Creative sound cards) or in this case, I used DSOAL (which works on any sound card). Pretty simple to install (instructions linked in description) and should work with most if not all other mods (even SAMP and MTA ua-cam.com/video/xxY_xaFrYm4/v-deo.html), unless they make major changes on how the sound system works.

What software do you use to get stereoscopic 3D from GTA?
I used geo-11. it's a community-made plugin to render stereo 3D in DirectX 11 games. The base GTA SA is a Directx 9 game, but the renderhook plugin makes it use DX11. I also have NVIDIA 3D Vision hardware, which allows 3D in DX9, but otherwise, for other hardware you'll need both renderhook and geo-11, so check out the instructions link in the 3D Vision section of the video description. And btw, most 3D displays will need setting direct_mode to sbs, but geo-11 also works in VR (look up VRScreenCap)

Off the top of my head, I know of these 2 options: - Install the NoScript browser addon for your browser, then click on it and for youtube.com, click Custom and uncheck webgl - Search for a browser addon that allows using "UA-cam for TV/leanback" (UA-cam Smart TV on Firefox or UA-cam™ for TV 4K on Chrome though both were limited to 720p on my end) Then add tv#/ between youtube.com/ and watch?v=, like ua-cam.com/users/tv#/watch?v=ZE-GzKgqc20

I remember playing through this about 2 years ago and was amazed how amazing this old game was before Tombraider got really serious about their development. Tombraider2013 remains my all time favorite.
@@WatchInVR1 This is a full playthrough, and yeah, I really loved the traversal mechanics in this engine. I wish they had remastered TR 2-5 with it like they did with Anniversary. but yeah, the reboot trilogy is in a whole other level, especially considering Shadow of the Tomb Raider was one of the last native 3D Vision games.

Oh shoot, you're completely right. That's because the guides are WIP and links are automatically generated and often point to the main installer, which is usually the latest, but I gotta manually add a link to eax.dll 4.0.1.0 instead for this. Yeah, to be honest I don't know either lol. I just added it because as a general rule I like to use the latest version of software, unless something's broken after a specific version, and I'm yet to encounter issues caused by this particular one. I did notice that upgrading eax.dll makes some games behave differently, at least internally. Like in Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, updating it from 3.x to 4.x makes DSOAL check for EAX 4 support, but it ultimately falls back to EAX 3 for some reason, I'm guessing because that's just what the game's natively capable of. I'm not sure Underground 2 even uses EAX, but it does have some reverb effects that transition smoothly, unlike SSR.

I used the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 [SB1090] airtable.com/shrTaLf6ypgwiV8MQ/tblJplYyMfi109VnD/viwTGQc8qvXTtZmf9/recXT87a8NWeMo1fB It's recognized as a DirectSound3D Hardware-capable sound card in XP, tho recently I've been questioning whether it's real/native hardware X-Fi or some sort of built-in software emulation like ALchemy that presents itself as native hardware, so I wouldn't recommend it for accurate X-Fi since it sounds a lot like ALchemy's Creative 3D Software library. In VMware Workstation player, I can just let the Windows XP virtual machine take exclusive/direct control of the sound card just like any other USB device. Internal cards could work in theory, using VMware vSphere to do PCI passthrough, but I've never tried it.

I switched to it because VirtualBox was a lot more complicated to set up and had worse performance. @Ultra_Wide_Gaming yeah, the official Github actions lack OpenAL Soft (dsoal-aldrv.dll), so you'd need to get it separately from the OpenAL Soft official site binaries, Appveyor or Github actions. That's why I made a pull request that includes everything needed ( github.com/kcat/dsoal/pull/52 ) which is what generates releases on my fork. As for the seemingly mismatching versions, they're actually the same, just using different counters. I started referring to build versions by their Appveyor build (e.g. 1.0.40) before I found out that, officially, DSOAL is still on 0.9, so I used that instead to name my Github fork's releases, and added a .x, where x is the counter for OpenAL Soft stable releases since I added the Github actions, and also added a "pre-release" that includes every DSOAL update and the latest OpenAL Soft at the time of building, using the commit hashes for versioning instead. so tl;dr the latest build in the DSOAL github actions is the same as [2022-07-06] DSOAL-87ae4d4 OpenALSoft-0474a36 on my fork.

@@ultra_wide_gaming7128 1.31a is very outdated, let alone 1.1, which I don't think is even needed anymore since the most recent DSOAL build just so happens to fix all the games listed in the 1.1 ReadMe, and then some ( github.com/kcat/dsoal/issues/40#issuecomment-1176451294 ) As for the issues with my fork's build, good catch, turns out I had set a flag I shouldn't have set but I reverted it and now it should work: github.com/ThreeDeeJay/dsoal/releases/tag/latest and about dialog not being spatialized, someone reported that shooting the robot bird in the first level makes the rest of the clip play spatialized, but the next audio clip that plays will go back to playing like it's in front of you in DSOAL or just non-spatial stereo panning in ALchemy, regardless of the direction you're aiming. How do we get it to show the sbs correctly? i see it in the scrub bar, but only have anaglyph as an option.
Since UA-cam removed the SBS view, we gotta resort to a third-party app like PotPlayer on Windows, which can play UA-cam 3D videos in several formats, including half/full-width SBS/TAB/etc. Some devices like 3DTV/VR might have a youtube app capable of displaying 3D videos properly as well.
