Hello Quail Family! I'm a new coturnix quail farmer, homesteader and small business operator from Northern California in the gorgeous Sierra Nevada Mountains. My vision is to encourage EVERYONE to raise coturnix quail. I will be illustrating basic practices in quail farming, processing, money-making endeavors, and focusing on using quail in the kitchen with EGGS and MEAT. Most important, I will be educating on why YOU will want to raise this bird too! We need to take an active approach on becoming more sustainable in these ever-changing times and I'm here to inspire you!
My new quail world started with 5 chicks brought home to me in February, 2021. From there, now I have averaged a covey of 300 birds a month!

Thank you for trying all the things & sharing the cons of what you tried! I was thinking of buying spray for a cage I have and now I’m going to just replace it with vinyl coated wire.
@@vickikenton5439 The excretion is too acidic and will inevitably break the spray down. If you need a small amount, I can deliver 😁

I live in SoCal, and my whites recently started.
Mine molt when the weather changes, spring and fall. They will look so much prettier!
Thanks for the information. I just purchased 6 week old hens and they started molting within a week of having them. I have also transitioned them from 22% traditional feed to 18% nongmo feed with more calcium. Since they are molting should I supplement with more protein, what kind, and for how long? Thanks
