Hey,! Apologies for just seeing your comment. Sometimes we feel a little harsh with the commentary so I'm glad you can relate! And yes we're also far too deep in the series now to bow out. We're gonna stick it out together. Have you managed to start a Fire In The Flesh yet? I'm so curious on your thoughts. We have that ep coming out Jan 15th 2024 :) We're also very excited for the next CC book, waiting ever so patiently xD

@@letterboxbookclub I have! I just started Ch. 16. The upside is that the story is progressing and much of the information is NEW! I am, however, still struggling with the parallels/dualities of Sera and Poppy's lives. They don't feel like two different characters, with different personalities, in two different time periods, living two different sets of experiences. They feel like the same person living almost identical experiences with love interests who ALSO seem like parallels/reincarnations of one another (is this the Multiverse??). And on top of that, we add in Sotoria?? Who probably ALSO isn't much different in personality than the other two. I'm just waiting to see who Sera and Ash end up in a thrupple with, because expectations have been set to be reliving the same plot over and over again. Like Groundhog's Day. This will be the THIRD TIME we've lived a lot of these themes. On top of that, stylistically, the writing is a bit hard to get through at times. The contemporary language and 20th/21st century slang is like: 🤨. I think that largely contributes to Sera and Poppy feeling like the same character with the same voice and mannerisms. There is a way to allude to a familial connection or reincarnation element without each character losing their sense of individuality borne out of their lived experiences....and that's what likely prompts these feelings of deja vu. x3! P.S. The golden cage so far is every cliche trope I imagined it would be. I'm going to keep reading, but I don't think this series is going to rate any higher than "middling" for me. P.P.S. I can't wait to see how far SM expands her universe and ties each world in with the others. I've been dying for the next ACOTAR book, because I really want nice things for Lucien. He really is trying to redeem himself.❤‍🩹
