Polara iNS Crosswalk Buttons installed this year to replace the bulldog Buttons. It gives you the street you are crossing "Barrington at Dundee" and both have a rapid ticking noise.

Recorded:July 4th Polara EZ Crosswalk Buttons. This was taken during a visit to Florida. Only one Button works it says "Yellow lights are flashing". The other button does not work.

Recorded: July 3rd Polara iNS Buttons installed not sure the year. This was taken during a Visit to Florida. The Buttons just have a flashing red light. And Some Buttons say "Change Password". Only one of the just says "Wait". I think maybe because they are fixing the sidewalks they are not working right now.

New Pedsafety Crosswalk Buttons installed last month to replace the Bulldog Buttons. Only one button crossing Rand Rd has a beeping noise. The other buttons say Commercial or Rand Walk sign is on to cross".

Recorded: May 25th 2021 Campbell Crosswalk Buttons installed. When you hold the button it gives you the street you are crossing Golf Rd or Plum Grove Rd. Golf or Plum Grove walk sign is on to cross.

Novax Crosswalk Buttons installed on Foster Ave. I have never seen this type of crosswalk before. The ticking sounds like the Polara iNS. The Buttons crossing W Foster Ave say " Walk sign is on to cross Foster." The others since there is no street name it just has a beeping noise.

Recorded: June 26th Polara Buttons installed. 2 Buttons were replaced with iNS that make a machine gun noise. Also the EN2 make a machine gun noise. The 8 wire 3 work only they say "Walk sign is on" and one just makes a buzzing noise.

Older Polara 8 wires buttons. All say "Walk sign is on." There is one Button crossing West Lake that just makes a buzzing noise. And 1 Polara iNS Crossing Lehigh that makes a machine gun noise. Glenview IL

@@STUAA2024 Yes, I like those that they program with the street name but sometimes they don't program all of them just 1 or 2 only.
The Polara 8-wire is also not weather-resistant.
@Joshua_Park_693 yes they are not weather-resistant and during winter it gets very cold in the negatives some buttons loose there sound fast.

@@IllinoisPEDCrosswalksAreas Standard Walk RT4/Rapid Tick 4 is the the default walk sound on pretty much all models of polara navigators

@Ezia1 I'm not sure this is my first time seeing the buttons. Only one button crossing Foster says walk sign is on the others have a ticking noise because there is no street name.

The voice on the buttons sounds a little distorted than I remember. The Audio Library sounds something else, and it's not distorted there though.
@STUAA2024 yes these sound a little distorted I'm not sure why. The Buttons that I checked out at 167th and La Grange they don't sound distorted.

As far as I know, Barrington and Dundee, is the same deal as this intersection, only one side with Polara buttons on it, but the Polara Bulldogs are gone supposedly, and replaced

@STUAA2024 Hopefully I can check that intersection. I don't pass by that intersection that much. But I did see last time that yes the Polara Bulldog buttons are gone and they have Polara iNS on one side crossing Barrington.

The 3 on the side of the iNS indicates the amount of wires it uses.

the japanese have a lovely crosswalk system, for kids mostly - worth seeing. The Dutch also have some basic but brilliant features - at crosswalks with high injury rates, they provide a basket of bricks. To cross the street, simply hold the brick above your head then replace it when the cars stop.

Apparently, according to Polara's Audio Library and Google Maps, there is an intersection that originally had Polara Bulldogs, but the buttons were recently replaced with Polara iNS or iDS, it's on Barrington and Dundee, they talk (that is where the Polara Audio Library info comes in...)

We have these in Irvine.
These don't count down from 20 or above.
No I think because the sidewalks aren't too long you can cross them fast, they don't make the countdowns that long.

Yes, I also want to find one that counts but I think the iNS they don't program it with a countdown but I will try to find one.

@Ezia1 Thanks, But sometimes I do have to rush because the left or right turn lanes cars are always turning on some intersections. But yes always have to wait for the walk sign to come up especially on the busy intersections.

I heard an N2 button say a countdown exceeding 22 before.
Really what intersection, and I've only seen 3 Intersection that countdown including this one usually at number 19. The new Polara buttons they don't countdown.
@@IllinoisPEDCrosswalksAreas Walnut Ave and Harvard Ave. The N2 button counted down from 27 but only 1 button because the other one lost its working sound. Again, that's in California.

I heard the N2 do a machine gun in Irvine
I saw one of the intersections in Irvine had a Polara iNavigator that replaced a Polara N2 Navigator.
Yes I wish I saw the N2 Navigator but they replaced them in 2022-2023 on some intersections.
