The reason why people care so much about this is because it exists as an unspoken rule in Savage progging, especially with a static, and especially if you're raiding as a part of content.: _If you say you are blind, you _*_are_*_ blind._ And you will not make any attempts to try to research the mechanics. You won't even follow outside suggestions unless actually desperate, and if you aren't blind, you disclose it but never give advice. This guy just moved a huge distance just to stand beneath the thunderstorm cloud in Ramuh and acted like it was a major revelation that he discovered.
im not sold on that, i dont know much about raiding in ff14 but showing random tiny clips as proof out of context can oftern time paint a wrong image of things. i mean these guys have hundrets of ppl in the chat maybe they were giving tips or somehting, also there worldfirst raiders there pretty good at figuring stuff/strats out. maybe it was only 90% blind and they knew some stuff .. who cares ?
Never paid close enough attention to the raiding scene. As someone who has done both, and even far more dedicated prog in WoW than 14, I have watched some of Echo doing these progs in 14 at least, and it's been neat seeing them enjoy the challenging and brutal experience of these encounters. It's a shame that Max here embodies the opposite of that, the actual WoW Andy with a huge chip on his shoulder who needs to show how "easy" the 14 encounters are by instantly solving them via magical clairvoyance. And then making an excuse to NOT do the actual blind tier when it's new.

Looking up the mechanics is only cheating when you decide to say the rules are “no looking up mechanics” and then do it anyway. Which is what this guy did. He made a self imposed rule and then broke it, then pretended he never broke it. FF14 being mainly puzzle fights there is a huge difference between what it looks like to follow a guide or friends instructions and what it is like to actually solve the puzzles themselves rather than just struggle with reading tells and execution of premade strategies. Plenty of people are fine with watching those who already read a guide prog a fight. But to advertise falsely that you are blind when you are not is not only lying to and insulting your viewers but it is stealing hard earned credit from those who actually struggled to figure out the strategies. Even UA-cam guide creators will often credit other people’s strategies when including them in their videos.

He did that once right after he cleared the eden raids. It was the first tier of endwalker and Max didn't even raid lead. He had Naguura watch other teams and copy their strats to clear ther fights when in the past Max needed 1 pull to have a tactic ready but this time he had his fucking melee player figure out stuff and lead
Max lost the race to Scripe again today and Max seemed very salty about it crying that people stealing their strats when in fact Echo got faster to phase 3 of the last boss of the raid. Also its weird to see Echo have their main channel be the main point of the race meanwhile Max hoards all the subs and viewers to his personal channel where he sits being a glorified DBM (he doesn't even do callouts he is literally a mascot that gets paid the most)

@@kyuxe I think it is normal in a blind streamed race to look ahead at the competitions videos and copy strats if you want. The issue is really that it should be limited to copying off your current competition. Since the current competition is also blind and won’t be that many mechanics ahead of you and their strategies will likely be sub optimal. The team still has to decide whether sniping the strategy is a good idea. And the faster they make progress the more likely it is that their strategies will be sniped by the other team. It still falls within the range of adapting quickly on your feet and pushing most of the prog forward on your own. And it evens out. In older content using guides that have been published a long time ago and tuned for max uptime would be more of a race to who can execute a complete plan more quickly than the other. Which is still a race but not a blind race. If viewers were promised a blind race then that is what they should get. Not to mention if your competition is doing the race blind and expects you to be too then that becomes straight up cheating.
I mean to be fair ... I figured out the E10 Shadow mechanic the moment I saw it, along with in Savage ... but I've been playing since 2.0, 2nd month it came out. Frustrating when someone's cheating though 😕
They're using ACT and you're surprised they aren't using other tools or guides? You can create alerts in ACT triggers or Cactbot that only go off in your headphones if you want and make the visual alerts pop off outside the window that is streamed. This way the alert audio and visual cue doesn't pop up in OBS on stream. I'm sure they're using Timeline tool too which shows you which phase the boss is in and which attack is coming (and exactly when it procs) based on the time you entered each phase.
That's why i don't trust if people saying they do old raids blind, if wanna blind then do current savage. But it's already too late anyway, current tier is already 4 months in.

When I started to watch Max, his whole build up to actually solving something did not match what was happening on the screen sometimes. I did watch every now and then and when Echo started, it felt how it was supposed to go. It's only now that I've seen this video. So many people were hostile against legit questions in his chat how he came up with certain strats.

These examples in this video are just the extremely blatant ones, and not even all of them, but there are so many more minor things that he did/said that he really shouldn't have known. It was so refreshing watching Echo be truly blind through these fights though.

@@zemperish that’s the point, all of what I said is true and factual, the other creators piece was all opinion based. He isn’t going to figure out everything in the game, no one does. Obviously I know it’s possible, and if he did it’s kind of sad, all I’m getting at is that this guys video on it was way overstated and clearly for views… which I’m guessing he is accusing max of in a roundabout way.
@@sihi5634 Oh yeah I'm sure the video creator did it for views, on his 1 video channel with monetization disabled, zero links affiliations or ways to make money from it, makes perfect sense. And also mrnig4000 did figure out every single mechanic in the Eden raids after a single wipe, just to then stay quiet and come up with nothing for the Endwalker tier, hilarious. I think that's the best type of evidence, the one Max himself provided by failing spectacularly and then running with a tail between his legs.
I just took this as some salty mofos upset whenever someone mentions XIV raids being difficult, that they would do anything to prove it wrong. even if they have to lie and cheat to make it seem like they could just apparate the solution seemingly out of thin air because "casual game is lol easy".
I look up guides before everything including normal dungeons because I like doing it, then I watch cutscenes later on UA-cam - Pretty typical someone from WoW would lie about such shit and I am someone from WoW.

The true evidence of max cheating was the fact that during actual progs at the start of new tiers, max couldn't come up with any strats, and Echo would clear bosses much faster than limit.

Honestly I know I am new to FF14 and the community, however the first few minutes of your video is just pure elitism and I avoid players like you, like the plague. The way you talk down to those who dare look up a guide or have some prior knowledge of the raid is exactly the reason players in ff14 and in WoW despise the so called 1% raiders. I'll agree he should have been honest and not stated something as foolish as a blind progression run, I mean it for the most part wouldn't mess with the overall MSQ and wont harsh your vibe doing your MSQ so yeah, I would agree. And yes he should be called out, however acting as if anything other than blind progression is somehow inferior within raiding is both absurd and probably false. You know it's been three months since I started FF14 and yeah more players are engaging, still as toxic of a community if you touch the wrong button as WoW and that sheer elitism is just as blatant. Shitting on other players who do not want or feel your gaming experience is the best method send's a poor message to new players and this is coming from one, it's honestly really unfortunate this video popped in my feed, already getting a bad taste about the community as a whole this did not help.
Dude stop bitching and complaining. This community doesn’t give a flying fuck if you look up a guide or do something blind. HOWEVER! Limit Max was advertising all of this as BLIND prog which interested many FF raiders to see how a veteran WoW player could tackle mechanics, which is the whole point if the video. Max literally lied off his ass and when he got called out he talked down to the FF community. He’s getting called out for being a pathetic liar who has to protect bis ego, not because he didnt do it strictly blind. Which tbh like it or not, blind is very fun.

@@vyirusxgaming8201 Nobody is complaining about looking at guide. The problem was he tried to gain clout claiming he was doing it blind and Max's claims about how watching guides ruins the fun. Some people enjoy that. At no point does the video say there's a problem if you want to do it while watching a guide.

He's so wrong about "we gain nothing from it". He knows that being a 5head is something that will have people keep watching his stream. On top of that, he will be known as the guy who solves these raid puzzles fast, which of course is nice to see. I was just like Simon, wanting to see these world class raiders raid in "my" game giving them my full support. At first I watched Naguura for the simple fact that she had her music not too loud as I wanted to hear my own game music. When I started to watch Max, his whole build up to actually solving something did not match what was happening on the screen sometimes. I did watch every now and then and when Echo started, it felt how it was supposed to go. It's only now that I've seen this video. So many people were hostile against legit questions in his chat how he came up with certain strats.
As fascinating as this is, I have to stop watching because my static is only at A3S . Maybe I'll come back in a year or two.

Most people were directly accusing you specifically of looking up information, not "your group collectively" This video was honestly a breath of fresh air. I had come to the same conclusion when I was first watching Limit prog through these fights. At first I was actually really excited to watch them prog because I thought it would be interesting to see how WoW players blind prog FFXIV fights but, like you said at the start, if you have any amount of substantial blind prog experience its very obvious that Max had more information than he should have. These examples in this video are just the extremely blatant ones, and not even all of them, but there are so many more minor things that he did/said that he really shouldn't have known. It was so refreshing watching Echo be truly blind through these fights though.
