Center console top repair. First ever video I have recorded, edited, and uploaded. enjoy.
Can I do this with a material I buy from Walmart or something
Ugh my 2007 is falling apart I can’t see in my rear view
excuse me. What is the measurement of the fabric?
Lighting is a thing
Wowww… the metal posts come out. Removing the old skin took an amazing amount of effort
Great work!!! Do you know how the 2002 Avalanche driver base foam is different than the 2003? 2002 has the belt going through the foam and the side bolster seems more bulky
👍🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻thanks
How much is the size of the fabric for the roof of the honda accord 2006? And what color is it?
Thank you
Nothing story if you have the sunroof?
Thanks. What material did you use for the padding? Its the grey material at the 1:40 mark.
Superbe travail. Comme l'original !
Beautiful!!!
Anyone know what they roughly costs to have replaced on a 2012 Honda Acord with moonroof? By the way, you did a great job on this. I have the tools and time but I've never doon this. No issue with repairing mechanical issues but never dipped into to upholstery, carpet, trim, or paint.
My Honda Accord 2012 needs this to lol
My daughter had a 2005 Honda Accord and the headliner was replaced by the original owners. She ended up upgrading to a 2012 and the headliner started falling off. I've seen this talked about on the Honda Accord forums. Apparently, Honda uses cheap glue when it comes to the headliners. I still haven't had it done. I haven't had much time. I need to call around to see if I can get some estimates. @@user-bj4nu4jf4d
oops i missed hella steps but i got it out hopefully getting it back in is easier 😩😩🤣🤣🤣🤣
Do you remember the size the seatbelt bolt was? Also did you have to do anything with the C pillars in the back?
I did my exact car this way, except I changed the headliner to black. With all the black and gray it looks good.
Thats pretty cool lookin man!
Hi that's a very nice and clean job. I'm going to replace the headliner on my 2005 Accord. It's the same interior trim color as yours. Do you have a reference for the headliner fabric that you used? Thanks
I'm sorry I don't, I usually get my materials from my local upholstery supply store, and I go with the best visual match. Going with original manufacturer supplied materials can get very expensive
@@top-stitchprojects6979 Thanks. Tomorrow I'm going to check Keystone in San Diego. Already removed the headliner. I hope I find a good match
No hog rings used on these Chevy seats??
No, i used sewn on velcro to secure the cover to the foam.
Can I send you seat, how much?
How much for a complete interior on an avalanche?
💯
Honestly you can't see much of anything except shadows but it seems to be a good video I guess.
Where exactly are you doing at 3:13
Same type of clip as 4:19
This was just great. But, for future videos, can you get some lighting so we can see what you're doing??? Kinda felt like I was in the "Batcave" for awhile there. Still, very informational without words. Good job ...👍😎
This is great but how do you remove the lid from the car! You cannot get to the screws to remove it.
what kind of glue are you using and what do you use ( the name of the chemical or product) to clean off the reside glue? Thanks
You're very talented! You made this task look so easy but I know it's a lot of work and it needs precision. Fantastic job and it looks great.
I have watched many Accord headliner replacement videos, they all lack details. This video covers from A to Z. Great job.
So helpful! Thank you
Thank you i had retired from lyft because of this. I didn't know what i needed to do to get the headliner out, now thanks to you i do. I think i'll reapply a black finish to match my leather.
🔥 great work, tons of work though
Good
ty took forever to find this
Thanks for the video. It’s a great help. I have the identical console lid (2005 Dodge Ram 3500) and am wanting to get it recovered BUT, ALSO add a customized recessed area in the top side (for wireless phone charger) and am wondering how difficult it will be to make the “pocket” area with/in the new material. *Adding to the difficulty, I want the “bottom” (and sides?) of the recessed pocket /charging area to be done in a different color, but same material. Sure wish I could sew! It is stated in other sources that removing the plastic bottom piece WITHOUT breaking some or several of the plastic clips off is almost impossible. You seem to have mastered the technique for saving them. Do you have any specific tips for this?
Yeah it's just knowing where and how to apply pressure to the clips so they release without breaking them, but there's always a few that don't make it. If you wedge a flat screwdriver as close to the clips as possible, gently apply pressure, and pull up on the plastic mold with your other hand, that should give you the best results. If you fell like your applying too much force, you probably are, just take it easy.
The correct way to remove the clips is from the top. Cut the material off from the top, then remove foam to reveal the clips. This guy may know how to remove the clips without breaking them, not it's an unnecessary risk when the material is being trashed anyway.
What color is that ?
Honestly i don't quite remember, i match it to the closest available material in my sample book
What type of glue did u use it looks better then shoe glue I used b4
Weldwood industrial glue from my local upholstery supply store
Thank you!! This was really helpful
What staple size you used?
For projects with thin plastic molds i use 1/4" staples sorry for the super late response btw
@@top-stitchprojects6979 thanks
What glue Or stuff are you using ? Is there a certain brand one should use ?
Removing the headliner off the car is probably the worst part.
Just get a circle soft wire brush and put it on a drill
I wanna learn how to do this shit. We need more channels like this that actually get to the point.
This is amazing how do you keep this from not peeling in the first place. So disappointed in the quality of toyota in this aspect Also what kind of staples and stapler do you use for this?
Did you ever find out what size staples?
What tools did you need size of Alan wrench and what not gonna give it a go!
Thank you!
good job, I need this on my same car, c30 !
Did he answer
to much flippin and floppin of peice your workin with to tell where you are at or where to go next bye thumbs down
I like the guys that get straight to the point. Good job guys 🤙🤙🤙
better than original !
How much it cost to repair a Toyota Avalon armrest?
Would you make this if someone ordered it? I have the s40 and I would be interested in buying new leather upholstery since the current has started to scratch and tear. How much would it cost to make the rear seats upholstery?
Did he answer
@@JulioMartinez-fj8zr nope
No I'm sorry i wouldn't be able to make new covers without installing them myself, check out your local upholstery shop for a quote on your seats, the price varies depending on skill, quality, and type of materials used.
