    Great work!!! Do you know how the 2002 Avalanche driver base foam is different than the 2003? 2002 has the belt going through the foam and the side bolster seems more bulky

    Anyone know what they roughly costs to have replaced on a 2012 Honda Acord with moonroof? By the way, you did a great job on this. I have the tools and time but I've never doon this. No issue with repairing mechanical issues but never dipped into to upholstery, carpet, trim, or paint.

      My daughter had a 2005 Honda Accord and the headliner was replaced by the original owners. She ended up upgrading to a 2012 and the headliner started falling off. I've seen this talked about on the Honda Accord forums. Apparently, Honda uses cheap glue when it comes to the headliners. I still haven't had it done. I haven't had much time. I need to call around to see if I can get some estimates. @@user-bj4nu4jf4d

      I'm sorry I don't, I usually get my materials from my local upholstery supply store, and I go with the best visual match. Going with original manufacturer supplied materials can get very expensive

    Thanks for the video. It’s a great help. I have the identical console lid (2005 Dodge Ram 3500) and am wanting to get it recovered BUT, ALSO add a customized recessed area in the top side (for wireless phone charger) and am wondering how difficult it will be to make the “pocket” area with/in the new material. *Adding to the difficulty, I want the “bottom” (and sides?) of the recessed pocket /charging area to be done in a different color, but same material. Sure wish I could sew! It is stated in other sources that removing the plastic bottom piece WITHOUT breaking some or several of the plastic clips off is almost impossible. You seem to have mastered the technique for saving them. Do you have any specific tips for this?

    • @top-stitchprojects6979
      @top-stitchprojects6979 3 роки тому

      Yeah it's just knowing where and how to apply pressure to the clips so they release without breaking them, but there's always a few that don't make it. If you wedge a flat screwdriver as close to the clips as possible, gently apply pressure, and pull up on the plastic mold with your other hand, that should give you the best results. If you fell like your applying too much force, you probably are, just take it easy.

    • @spacecoastkid5033
      @spacecoastkid5033 Рік тому

      The correct way to remove the clips is from the top. Cut the material off from the top, then remove foam to reveal the clips. This guy may know how to remove the clips without breaking them, not it's an unnecessary risk when the material is being trashed anyway.
