Traveling the MidWest I come across some really cool towns. I try and take the little time I have to try and capture some of the cool and interesting buildings, businesses and scenery. I hope to highlight things worth visiting as well as freeze time to keep a memory of the quickly disappearing midwest small town. Our Small towns Pontoosuc IL. Every small town of the midwest has stories to tell....

I was hoping to find a video on how to open a bottle that did not have a tab! Yes, it did not have a tab.
I have an M1 also and love it.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone try to patina a stainless steel, it definitely puts me off ABEL steel considering you were a little successful. I’d prefer a stainless steel to do a little better than that, may as well stick with the A2 steel.
I miss spoke in the video. It is an A2 steel. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.
Bonjour les marque blanche sur le mur c'est la chaux des béton qui ce disous et ce cristalise sur les granulat extérieur . ont beaucoup ce phénomène sur les bunker en Normandie.
WOW Very Cool, Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to share that. I wondered as it looked like it was almost corrosion breakdown. Thank you again. You are a Rock Star.
They look like bridges. The textures look like mold. or a seal of some kind. I saw the whole video. I hate long videos like an hour long ones. Livestreams I hate as well.
I greatly appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. I am trying to find a good balance of vedo time. UA-cam wants the videos to be either shorts or over 10 min. I find when I re watch my longer videos I start getting board. LOL I do like the short under 10 min videos. Thank you again for your support it is so greatly appreciated.
First!
Awesome Thank you!!!!!!!!
Worked as a cherry farm hand for 3 years with my esee 2.5, might upgrade to one of these or a white river.
Both VGKC and White River Make some great knives. The Rambler is really a solid blade that has a good balance of strength, but not to heave, As well as enough blade to do most handy tasks and a large enough handle to keep everything secure and under control. Yet not to heavy or large to get in my way. It may not be the sexiest but it sure is ready to go to work. thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. It is so greatly appreciated.
I bought a rambler from jacob about 8months ago one of my fav. Knives
@@john41413 ya it really is a all around solid knife.
Is it a bigger version of the tribute?
A Bigger Tribute would be an interesting one.
Is that the rough neck?
No that is the VGKC Mantis. I have been carrying this for a couple of months now as a pocket dropper. I great little EDC work knife. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
If you're not bagging is there any benefits to a lift blade?
Yes There are a few. One it high lift blades pull a vacuum causing the grass to stand taller for a more even cut. Another thing is it discharges larger clippings and can throw the dry ones farther. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
I have a new gen with the clip point in black/black FRN that I got from Hogue in May 2023 I can squeeze my handles together - but don’t really mind it. I just wish it was grippier and a bit more stout - I’m about to experiment with JB Welding the gaps on the back of the scales to add rigidity and throw some weight on there. AWT scales are in my future.
I am interested in your JB weld results. I took a point of a knife and created a texture that is ok ish. It doesn't look amazing or cool but it works. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I greatly appreciate it.
I need something for a Honda HRN216VKA
@@thtdudenamdbilly I wish I could help. I no longer work with that company.
You can adjust to your hearts content. where does one start.
You sure can. I usually start with straightening. LOL
Chase the light. LOL I have heard that before.
It brightens my day. LOL
Just beat on it. I doubt you are strong enough to break that 80crv2 steel.
@@coreybrown6045 ya I doubt it as well. Thank you for your comments.
This is why i like carbon steel. It can take the abuse.
@@patrickmunneke8348 I will definitely have to use it more than just this to find limits. I thought for sure with a 17 deg edge I would have seen something. Lol good deal though. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I greatly appreciate it.
As long as you can repair the damage on the knife. You will be fine.
Ya That didn't even dull it. And I have the ability to repair quite a lot. LOL Just let er rip LOL
@@fuelediowa Ya there is going too far like doing what Joex does.
Great knives!! Love my adventure!!
I want to get an adventure some day. As well as a few others. LOL
@@fuelediowa lol right!
Brother man I think your channel is getting blocked or something I always miss your videos! Great looking patina, I love 80crv2 with all my heart! 👊🏻
@@VeryGoodKnifeCompany hmmm that stinks when I check my dashboard it says I am in good standings with no strikes. I do wish I would get more views and comments. I was surprised how sharp I was able to get it. Seriously hair popping. I never really beat my knives so I just touch up the edge every once in a while. What are the benefits of nitro other than stainless. I did see you beat the crap out of that one.
Love it! It’s so cool it came so sharp like that!! It’s worth it just for that
Ya they do such a great job from the shop. I really like finding such great American made knives.
That suckers sharp
Ya I am super surprised how sharp it got. Being a spray form of D2 I want to see if it gets chippy with a narrow angle. This is at 17 deg each side. Now I just need to use it more lol.
Here from sharp ends.
Thank you for checking my channel out and taking the time to leave your comments. I greatly appreciate it.
Wouldn't the White River Sendero Pack fall into this same category? You kept saying you were going to do an in-depth video on it but I haven't seen that yet.
@@Rossski yes I do need to put that together. I just want to make sure I do it justice. As a survival EDC the reason I didn't mention it is that it is a bit thinner. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. I greatly appreciate it.
I thought people left it overnight to patina.
It depends on the steel. Some are more resistant than others. This could have gone a bit longer. But I think overnight would have pitted. Thank you for watching and talking the time to comment
I just got a knife from VGKC on your recommendation. I recorded and unboxing and first impressions video yesterday and I tagged you in the video. It's coming out Friday! I hope it's all right that I tagged you. It's the video of your farm knife story.
@@sharpends4279 that is awesome. I just seen your short on the traditional Jr. I really want to get one of those. Need more ad sense funds first lol. It is perfectly fine to tag me. I believe that small channels have to promote each other to be able to try and grow. Especially with these established channels that get 25k views the first day. Some day we will be there. Lol I can't wait to see your video on the vgkc
I've heard good things about that steel.
@@BIGHOUSEBLADE53 it can sharpen up crazy sharp. I have one that is at a 17 degree edge I will put to work some day and see how it holds up.
Its all the same. Olsa makes both those in the same factory including the quinn. They look the same cause they are the same just with different engravings. The more you know bud.
Ya it is so hard to keep up on all these places. I wish they had to keep things more open. Just like amazon does not have a Made in the USA filter. I hope more in the know will happen. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. it is appreciated.
Being able to drive around and take photos. Life must be ruff.
It is a blessing for sure!!!
I think I counted 9. LOL I wonder how many people actually go through life and never notice things like this.
I would have to count myself but I do not want to take my boots off right now. LOL
Some interesting photos.
Thank you
It is called a series. It is a theme that we use to sell art. It happens naturally when we create art. Sell Prints at galleries.
Man I hope I am good enough and am able to sell prints from a Gallery some day. That would be really cool. I have been photographing for almost 20 years consistently and never noticed. Now going back through photos and flags in a lot. LOL Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
@@fuelediowa Google galleries near me. Or galleries in your home town. Or galleries in your state. Then approach them with a portfolio. Don't call ahead. Just walk in. Be professional and social.
Another thing you can do. Is do an art show. You spend more money. But you meet a lot of people. They get to see your work. Price everything set up a booth expect to pay about 100 to 200 bucks to rent an area. Invest money in prints of your work. Fill your booth with prints. Charge about 20 dollars a print alone. 40 bucks if it's mounted. 80 bucks if your print is mounted and framed. Bring 100 business cards. Also thats not even the cost of the tent, table, and frame holders.
First!
First and Greatly appreciated.
Great looking knife. I like what he stands for making knives for the working man at a good price. I havent picked one up yet but i am planning on it. Have an amazing 4th
Ya I really like finding small dedicated businesses and being able to support them. I have no problem giving VGKC knives to my kiddos to last a lifetime.
I do not use light room. I try to stay away from adobe products.
Lol me as well. I have used Capture One for years. And never had time to learn any graphic design like PS I just gotta try and get it right in the camera. Lol
@@fuelediowa You know painters thought photos were cheating for years.
I can't argue with them. I could never paint a photo I took.
For me, the foreground was in focus whereas I want the mid-ground in focus. When I paint I tend to blur the foreground.
Ya I keep going back and forth. On POV I think I may try focus stacking some day.
@@fuelediowa This is after being in the shower and thinking about the image. I think the subject matter should be the barn. Because a lot is going on with the barn. From your photo, I cannot tell if you are taking a picture of the barn. I thought it was a house with a broken tree next to it. The only reason why I know it is a barn is because you said it was a barn with equipment next to it. It is an old barn and it is rustic. With old equipment next to it. And that the trees are damaged as well. Just adds to the idea of the barn's story. The winding road right now is the subject matter. I do feel that a foreground is wise. Also, the foreground should be the plants. Just that the winding road is a S curve. Just like the Banksy painting, Girl with a Balloon. We use the S curve to accent the subject matter. It is a great way to lead the viewer's eye to the foreground from the mid-ground. You could do what Banksy did with the S curve. You could use the winding road and the barn. The same way that Banksy uses the string leading to the red balloon. The Asymmetry of the tree line is on the right side of the photo. The farm field is on the left. Relations with each other are the real seller. Which you captured perfectly. I implore you. Sir, please retake the photo with that idea in mind.
When I worked in the QC department testing blades the engineers brought in some to be tested for Europe for noise standards, some were perfectly flat, what I didn't know was that the flat blades were almost totally quite
Some blades create a ton of Wind and all the noise to go with it.
My gosh I have NEVER seen a lift that high on a blade, bet it's noisy as heck
Yes very noisy and move a ton of air.
Having worked in the Quality department of a once major Lawn Mower MFG and testing our blades that was made by vendor Fisher-Barton this is a good clip
Thank you.
You have your outtro made.
Man I am afraid it would be corny lol
@@fuelediowa "Thanks for watchin, leave your feedback give me give me some comments let me know what you think. I'd greatly appreciate it hope to see you around here soon and hear morefrom you guys thanks." BOOM CORNY! really tho, really? Nope.
Hope you and the family are well! Thanks for the shoutout brother, happy to hear you love them!
Anytime my friend! I can't wait to check out a traditional Jr. Quick question would you mind sharing some details on 80crv2 and the nitro you use obviously the stainless but the pros and cons
@1:58 Minut
Thank you
I had the X-T3 the same amount of time as my X-T5. The X-T3 was in much worse shape from wear and I had to get rid of it due to a defective shutter release. The X-T3 forced me to turn off the camera constantly to save battery. The silver paint on my X-T3 was not as durable as on my X-T5. It came off the corners of the upper trapezoid after the first 3 months.
I have heard the silver was not as robust as the black. I have only had the black bodies. I have also heard more than once about a shutter button issue on the X-T3 but have been lucky I guess. Thank you for taking the time to watch and share your experience. It is greatly appreciated.
Yup, I am not on facebook. I would have had to do that with the before and after turned on the whole time.
Really that is interesting. I very seldom ever use the before and after. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. It really does help this channel and my family.
All I know is my XT4 went back to the shop twice, so far with the XT5, I haven’t had any issues!
I have very good luck with my Fuji gear. I never had the x-t4. What all do you like to photograph? My 3 and 5 I have drug with me everywhere I go. Very seldom do I not have my camera with me. In fact if it is a function that a camera and photos are inappropriate I probably wouldn't go. I don't visit friends that hate their photos taken. Lol
Subbed! I prefer that clickiness of the 3 even if you have to crank a little harder than the xt5
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I greatly appreciate it. There is a reason I still have the X-T3 lol.
I learned something.
Really? That is cool. I like sharing information and teaching. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Nice job god bless
Thank you I greatly appreciate that. God Bless you as well.
Actually, WTG was started in 2018 by Victor Linn in Taiwan where he lives. It was never an "American made" company.
That is some great info. Thank you for sharing.
