One Labour politician claimed that the parents of children at these schools are being subsidised by the government because they are not currently being charged VAT. That's because the shools are regerded as businesses and so should charge VAT and give it to the treasury. The argument that those parents are paying taxes but not using the government education system is apparently not valid. clinical staff are tied down by legislation,litigation and regulation. there is probably a whole tier of managers that could be stripped out and not noticed. there should be some sort of "rule" that says for each none clinical roll, you have to have X clinical staff. Now there are more none clinical than clinical -- thats how to fix the NHS
