OK 120mph is very good! My friend is flying his 64mm L-39 and Futura on 7S about 142 mph :P This would totally be faster xd

Also i just discovered: Roll throws can be increased in the FMS phone app used for gyro tuning. Extending limits wasnt possible for me since im using a Frsky Rx.

Hi, I measured from where the leading edge of wing meets the fuselage. Not sure if that's quite accurate, but I thought that is what is showing in the manual. My first flight was battery all the way forward, it was safe for sure, but not really comfortable to fly.

@@tomheetderks9997 by “leading edge of wing meets fuselage” im guessing that is the plastic wing piece that comes glued on to the fuselage from the factory, yes? I am going to go on the safe side and order heavier batteries for this jet before i give it a maiden

@@MChronicleSword correct, on the plastic- so the very far forward part of the wing. I'm surprised it's 10mm aft, and you are using 4s and not 3s I assume? Keep in mind I just made small dots at 85mm and used my finger tips so not particularly accurate. anyway, I know I'm going to keep moving my battery back a bit at a time, it really felt like the 80-90 is pretty conservative as most manual recommendations are. If it helps, I just measured the front of my battery and it is 18mm back from the very front edge of the plywood tray glued to the fuselage. You should be more than good with a admiral pro 2200 4s, but obviously do what you think is best. Hope you have a great maiden flight!

@@ficosk8Yes lots of immigrants from this area. My father was from Boskoop Netherlands He immigrated here when he was 19 Tom and I are not related I knew him when I was younger at church, but then I met him again at the flying field and we became friends

sorry, I never seem to get notifications, just saw this. No gyro, really doesn't need one. 6 ch spectrum 610 sport receiver, ailerons independently wired to be able to use small degree of flaperons for landing.

I think it would not work as well if they are cut short.

It's very fast- Ben likes things that fly fast even more than I do 🙂

Because they've been neutered since then.

Thanks jim! I used my freewing Lippisch to help me design this one -:) yes, the little one screams, and is so agile as well, love flying the 64mm. I think the 80mm COULD be fast, but I believe I screwed up the thrust line, so over 2/3 throttle it really wants to dive down. Maybe a throttle to elevon mix, worth a shot, or design a thrust diverter for the nozzle?

Hey Tom, yeah it looks as though your wing incidence may need to add about 5 deg to get the incidence you need at full throttle. Now I think (unless the wings detach) you're not going to be able to correct the thrust-line. A new model might be needed; not sure how you'd correct thrust-line of the tube, just wouldn't be affective enough? Hey, look at it this way; with a new model you can correct design changes you always wanted to anyways! 🙂

I love that I can cruise around for like 7 min+ at lower throttle/ speed and it's still quite fun :) Thanks for the comment, and yeah maybe I need to build one with a 80" wing/ 120mm fan ?? And for sure with detachable wings- it may all be just the ticket to break my brain🤣 🤪

It’s pretty light for the wing area. But yeah, I was kinda shocked how quickly it got up. Eflite fan really pushes it along !
