OCXO programing- fast and simple
Want to program our ocxo but dont know how?
You can do it even in arduino ide, fast and simple.
YOu can get it in enclosure or just bare board for project.
order it here: www.pcs-electronics.com/shop/rigexpert-products/other-reu-rigexpert-products/ocxo-3-channel-signal-generator-330khz-to-330mhz-2/
Description
Low-noise, three channel OCXO (oven stabilized) clock source 330KHz to 330MHz
OCXO thermally stabilized oscillator with three independent PLL-synthesized outputs. An addition, an auxiliary 10 MHz output in provided. All signals are 3.3V CMOS by default, with SMA connectors. The OCXO is optimized to serve for laboratory applications and for driving PLLs in RF/microwave/satellite applications that don’t require GPS stability offered by Tokenblauser. The three independent output frequencies are set remotely via computer (terminal window) and remains saved so permanent connection with the PC is NOT required!
Also available as a open-source project on GitHub.
Areas of potential use:
- Stable reference frequency for radio communications: transmitters, receivers
- Amateur radio: QO-100, VHF, SHF, FT8
- Laboratory-grade, stable RF signal source
- High end audio for synchronizing Hi-Fi ADCs and DACs
- Analog and digital radio and TV broadcasting
- Laboratory work, with three independent channels precisely in phase and thermally stabilized
Included in the package:
- OCXO in aluminum enclosure
- Short user’s manual (device is very easy to use)
Specifications for OCXO:
Power supply: 9-15V, 1A
USB interface: USB 2.0, type C connector (device is not powered from USB); Virtual serial port compatible with Windows, Mac OS and Linux
Output: 4 SMA connectors, 0.33 to 330 MHz output
Frequency control: remotely via USB via any terminal program, two saved frequency profiles can be switched with buttons. Set frequency is saved and does not have to be re-programmed after power off.
Output: 0.33 to 330 MHz output.
Instructions for use:
- Connect your OCXO to the DC power supply.
- The LED on the front panel flashes one or two times depending on a selected profile.
- To switch profiles, press the Set button on the rear panel for more than one second.
- Connect your equipment to independent outputs on the rear panel, or to the 10 MHz output on the front panel.
- Default frequencies are 40 MHz for output 1, 25 MHz for output 2, 24 MHz for output 3.
- To change output frequencies:
a) Connect the OCXO to your computer by using a standard “type C” USB cable;
b) Run a serial terminal software, such as PuTTY or HyperTerminal, and open a virtual serial port (baudrate and other settings do not matter);
c) Type “?” (without quotes) and press Enter for a help;
d) Enter “fq 1 30000000” to set the frequency of output 1 to the value of 30 MHz;
e) Change other output’s frequencies, if needed, and then enter “load” to update the outputs;
f) The frequency settings will be stored in a non-volatile memory.
You can do it even in arduino ide, fast and simple.

other good solution is using a PC ventirad with a TDP near 250W for a simple raison, heat will be better evacuate by a ventirad which is the job.... and for less than 50€ ils possible... If power is not applied with a cyclic level up to 50%, un simple ventirad 125W low cost is fine.... And a copper ventirad is better with caloducs.....
Great video, I used to use 2 150 watt light bulbs. But those are now hard to come by.
Elegantly simplistic
Question: - what can this be legally used for? 🤔
Can you provide some information (brand e.g.) or link for the connector that you are using in this video? Looks very similar to the M&P connectors.
i want to make my own dummy load ,but i dont know how to make my dummy load support 0-3Ghz Frequency?pls tell me

any link pls

@@PCSelectronics Thank You
That's such a great idea 🙏
I'm not sure, too hard to make it.
You can allways buy one 😉
Really stupid video with absolutely no explanation as to why.
Could you make a video of PC Transmitters PCIMAX3000+ working?
Install the card in the pc, connect the usb cable and power and you are done. install the software and transmit.
I want to connect DC Socket with it.... Will it work the same?.. And I should follow the same procedure?
hi i have to ask the cybermaxfm software because i can't set the rds display on my pcs transmitter thanks!

Would be better in a box, seems exposed, weak mechanical construction
It would be better in a box. Sometimes you just need to keep it simple. But feel free to put yours in a box ;)
Ironically, I'm building the exact same thing with a very similar heat sink 😆, although my heat sink is a bit uglier. I'm not sure I can find spacers in my town though. How long of a wire would you recommend between the resistor and SO 239? I've read too long of a wire creates inductance?
Thank you!
dump the stupid sound track~~
You can always use mute button 😉
@@PCSelectronics 😂😂😂👌
is it still pwm controllable ?
Yes and no. If you want it to be pwm controllable you Will have to reatach wires... This fan doesnt need pwm control to run full speed.
@Anonymous less efficient, lesser degree of control (won't provide a smooth 1-99% speed control like pwm)
That's the best example of idiot proofing I've seen recently. But you do realize they'll just build a better idiot tomorrow?
Transistors allways on stock.
Rigexpert aa30zero on stock. It can also been used as a standalone unit with LCD and rotary encoder.
Also for DAB+ and TV.

Hey the thin tab on mine broke flush off while I was wiping some heat grease off. Any ideas what to do? Thanks
sorry to hear that. there is nothing you can do. Resistor has to be changed.
@@PCSelectronics i fixed it by removing the top white slice with the lettering and soldering a thin tin tab to the what was left of the broken tab then crazy glue the slice back on top. Resistance did change however from 51 ohm to 58 ohm. tested it on my cb radio & amp outputting 240 watts. No problem. I have it mounted inside a metal electric outlet box with a metel cover and 4 holes punched out. Straight Solid copper wire from resistor to center of pl259 on the opposite side of it. Would have ordered a new one but it take a month for delivery from China

Great idea and well executed. I am thinking two 100 ohm resistors in parallel would provide better heat dissipation and more support for the SO-239. Thanks!
Finally learned how to use it. Great product. I especially like how it can be Bluetoothed to my Android phone. MikeinMinnesota N0WDM
Some body knows the "Extension Board" functions? Alguien sabe cuál es la función de la extension board?
This add-on card adds two XLR balanced inputs and two RCA connectors plus USB audio input. It also comes with extra low pass filter, limiter and selectionable optional external input (mp3 player or something else). The inputs are ESD protect and have RF filter. This is of course an optional item but it is highly recommended and it does make life easier as you can install exciter far from the input connectors.
i have a broken psu fan with 2-pin.if i do it like video,will be a problem?2 and 3-pin fans are 5v and 4-pin 12v.will be problem?
if you are not sure what voltage sistem do you have, dont do it. you are asking for trouble :)

Hi I have a 30watt transmitter and want to double it’s power so what wattage amplifier would I need?
stacked antennas could be solution for you. If you want to double the power with the amplifier you should get one that has at least 60W. In this case your transmitter will work as exciter to drive the amplifier and drive stage output should be reduced to match the final stage max input.
Strange video 😆. Got one for Christmas. Completely baffled by it so far. MikeinMinnesota N0WDM
