In the Chenab Valley region, around 54-55% of the population is of ethnic Kashmiri descent. However, due to the younger generation in urban areas not speaking Kashmiri the language's prevalence has dropped to 47%. It is likely that in the next census, this figure could fall to 30%. But despite the decline in language use, the region's inclusion in the so called Jammu division will not change the ethnic Kashmiri identity of the people...we are Chenabi Kashmiris❤ Btw Kishtwari language as mentioned in stats spoken by abt 4% population is also another dialect of Kashmiri and not any different language.
