Hotel Cleopatra Palace hotel refurbishment. Why?
We took a walk around the hotel Cleopatra hotel in PDLA to see it prior to its refurbishment at the end of September 2024 and were amazed just how nice it is.

We had planned to walk along the coast and vlog it, but it was a bit hot. Instead we had a lovely (cheap) meal at Bora Bora and took a walk past Veronicas, the Gaelic corner, Golden Mile, through the Safari Centre and along the Parque La Paz strip….. ending up at Vegas Grill. 😃

We’re off on holiday to Florida soon, staying at Universals Endless Summer resort at Surfside. We’ve bought some new gear and needed to try it out. We had a great walk along the coast at South Shields up to Marsden and back. Thankfully everything worked like a charm.

Hello We have stayed in Cleopatra over the years and absolutely loved been there . We have stayed in pool view and more recently in Sea View rooms . We are under the same opinion as you both , only the bedrooms need to be updated , i hope they dont do away with character of the inferior. Going to Med for 2 weeks in Oct but would prefer if it was Cleopatra , we know our way round it 😊 Thank you for your updates and honesty. Thoroughly the best vlogs we have seen ❤❤
@@1979denman thank you for the kind words. I totally get why people love the Cleopatra. It’s a fabulous looking hotel inside with bags of character. We’ll be keeping a close eye on how the refurbishment goes and would definitely consider staying there when it’s finished.
Our room had a plunge pool on the balcony but did not get the sun and was freezing so never used it!

We were in the Cleopatra a year ago. The rooms do need updating but the rest of hotel is Ok. Enjoy your stay
@@stuartwood3064 cheers. I wish we could have had a look in the rooms to see what they were like, but I have to say, I was very impressed with the hotel.

Thunderstorms in Florida last 20 mins tops and then its glorious.
@@SEKZEEE we’ve been extremely lucky with the weather in Florida. We always seem to arrive straight after a hurricane and get 2 weeks of sunshine ☀️
@@Livinthedream22 Most I have experienced Is the daily thunderstorm, we have been every year since 2008 (except covid 20 and 21) and mostly in hurricane season, we go the end of the month and looking to do a couple of nights in Key West which we will book while there because of hurricane season. My parents and 4 other pensioners went when it was hurricane Charley, the women sent the men for the supplies and they came back with pringles and a lot of booze so they all slept right through it, the next morning they walk out the villa to see the villas around them had no roofs left but theirs so they hit the booze again while all us familys at home are in a panic trying to get hold of them which we did 3 days later 🙄🤦♀ I am glad you got to get some sun on your bones elsewhere though, have a lovely holiday 😉

How is the air conditioning in the rooms and the restaurant? Also the drinks service in the main restaurant? I’ve heard it’s not great??
@@kerrieflatts4249 we heard that too before arriving, but our room air con worked fantastic, as did the restaurant ones at the time. As for drinks service, it was excellent except the odd time around the pool if you ordered via the app. If the WiFi dipped, they sometimes didn’t get your order.
Heading to Las Americas again next week. We have never ventured to Los Cristianos but this has definitely given me motivation to have a walk along one evening.

We usually stop for morning coffee at Chiringuito Puntavista but that turns into afternoon beers😂 We'll make that the reward on the way back instead.

We love overcast .. there’s hundreds of restaurants that look nothing but serve lovely food… at extremely reasonable prices… nice to see a fresh pair of eyes 👀 looking at PDLA/ LC .. never do AI or HB .. the side streets hold little gems for you to discover.. enjoy and thank you for the vlog.. x

Sam the Owner Chinese Lad is so kind to us.. greets us like family with ice cold Cava ( gratis) very large Bombay and Tonic’s the fillet steak Hawaiian with pineapple and pepper sauce is amazing. Watching the street artists and never rush you .. our very favourite ❤️ place..

Brother in law was there last week, was not overly impressed with the food loved the rooms and pool area.
@@daviddoyle5291 we’re only bed and breakfast. We prefer to eat out. Breakfast has been great though.
Music at the Los Angeles starts a 9pm if you're there by then, there are normally seats. We are in PDLA for 11 nights on 3rd November

Just got home yesterday after 10 days staying at the Hotel Parque La Paz. Amazing hotel in the perfect location with every type of restaurant and bar on our doorstep! Wonderful holiday, and we will be back 😉👍

Yes the hotel has entertainment on every evening. They don’t organise boat trips but they can be found at the Marina
