Wow I wasn't expecting old bell to sound nice
these bells are very very old except the front 3 but they sound aboustly incredibly good
the back 8 came from todmorden christ church
They are a cool ring to have a go on as I am only restricted to these types of rings at the moment.
Hello
These are great bells such a smooth ring
Yes they are
I’ve rang the tenor here
Bernard Taylor was leading down wasn’t he
amazing bells. What happened to the video of GTFU'ing the tenor here?
EARAPE!!
These bells have a beautiful tone.
Is that Peter Scott with glasses
Sounds really nice, sounds really medieval!
went here today, do you know where i can get some footage of all 8 going?
You’ve probably found it by now but here’s a link ua-cam.com/video/8Q-098_kQF4/v-deo.html
Wich tones does they have
they sound to be in Eb
Hello
so why do you like bells so muchh..
How ever can you tune pots? Also lovely ropes where can you get them from?
Sandpaper or sanding attachment on a drill. I have just purchased a pot and will purchase 5 more friends for it
Ringer Fred great I have a Sand kit for a drill and a sander machine
You have to be extremely careful and itll take time. It will lower the note only
Also before tuning coat the outside in a very weak pva water mixture. After tuning coat the inside. Only lightly and very weak glue - just enough to make it turn off water colour.
@@tittums the liss campanile were buckets then flowerpots
Why two staircase doors on each side?
Don't visit this tower unless you want to be constantly nagged at because your striking is a little bit out
Strict band eh?
@@fredmills368 just the captain, I reckon. He shouldn't speak to visitors the way he does
Ive come a cross a few nasty ones. Once the minute I stepped in the tower and first rang my handling and striking were criticised. Just some people.
@@tuatara77 to be picked at is a bit strong id take it as advice on 12 bells you have to hold up more at each handstroke and backstroke as the bells are slower the tower captain is only putting people right and correcting striking errors its not picking on anyone. it says in the ringing book which i read when i was a learner you are more likely to be shouted at with good reason but its not personal and theres no ill feeling its just to correct faults requires fast and positive action
@Ivan Steel I can’t think of any really strict ones, but I do know of one not far from me that’s run by a complete arsehole
Whose the guy who raises the treble?
Simon veal
Thank you so much for posting this - magic! (Cheers from Australia)
dose the clock chime here?
Why?
Ringer Fred because I wanna
Know
Has anyone else noticed how the tenor sounds rather flat from the rest of the ring?? If you look at the nominal tones for the bells, you can see that it (technically) goes D, C#, B, A, G, F#, E, Db.
Wanker.
Bit uncalled for to be honest...
max dovex shows as C#
I don't go to Church but i visited this church before
F#+ / Gb-, sounds nice!
great !!! very different than us!
Cracking striking for bells of this weight - very com mendable
