Water Pump Conversion Kit 50H-0238 product review

This conversion kit is for Ilmor engines in MasterCraft boats, that were equipped with the oil bath raw water pump system. This is to move the pump to the font of the engine while getting rid of the oil bath system. I just wanted to do a quick video of what is in the box, and what customers have said that have bought it from me.

LED Bow light install - wakeboard boats and runabouts can use this video.
This may be a dumb question, but, When you say “run the ballast pump” when filling with antifreeze, you mean empty, right? Cause the antifreeze is already in the tank via the tube and you’re just trying to get it in the line, correct?
yes correct. You will run the pump on empty. If you are alone. I would 1 make sure the tanks are empty first 2 just put a gallon in right off he bat 3 hit empty until you hear the tone change. If you have someone with you. Their main goal outside of the boat is seeing the pink antifreeze exiting the holes and exhaust. This way you know the antifreeze has gone through the entire system
Sorry I kind of rushed this video because I wanted to get it out. I will make a better one lol. People are starting to put their boats away, and i made this video pretty quickly
@ it’s not a problem! Just needed that one clarification. The rest of the video was great! Thank you for doing it!
Ryan, how often do you recommend changing the transmission oil? I only have 60 hours on my 2019, should I change the transmission fluid annually?
@@miketsou79 so under warranty at the time of this message, per ilmor it is annually. Out of warranty I would say 100 hours or every 3 years. Only because everything has a shelf life. Fluids do not last forever. Because the oil is only turning gears it doesn’t break down as fast as engine oils… that would be my same recommendation for the fuel socks, can you push things further? Of course. But should you lol not really. The main thing I see over 20 years is the most issues are from the least amount of regular maintenance. Also what a simple oil change could do is have you in the engine compartment finding something else you didn’t notice was a problem that could prevent your engine from being damaged.. Just simply even running your engine on a hose and inspecting the engine compartment can save you sometime by catching a water or oil leak, hearing air like a vacuum leak hissing. Seeing that your air filter needs to be cleaned or replaced. So many things you can look for.
@ Thank you, I agree 100%. Even though we don’t use our boat nearly enough as we should I think I will change the engine oil and the transmission fluid yearly just to be safe, what about the filters? Since we only put about 10 hours/year on average, do you think it is safe to change the filter every other year?
Love all the detailed contents on the channel, I have learned so much. Thank you so much! 💌
@@miketsou79 anytime. I try my best to fill my video with enough real information that it makes it simple but I think sometimes me over thinking it screws me up haha. I do everything in one take and simply cut parts out where I am just rambling hahaha. Are there any videos you would want to see made
This is by far the best video on UA-cam explaining the winterize procedure of the Ilmor GDI system, thank you for taking the time to do it. I have a 2019 X22 with GDI 6000, I bought a fluid transfer pump and was able to use the flush port to pump 4 gallons of antifreeze in HD bucket after turning on the engine, I believe it worked well because I see antifreeze coming out of the exhaust. I also see antifreeze drips out of the drive shaft which is interesting, not sure if that’s normal. I forgot to mention I had to close the seacock prior to turning on the engine and the transfer pump. I did open the seacock after so I don’t forget to open it next season and a little bit of antifreeze came out.
Thank you and yes there are a lot of ways to do these jobs of course haha. i ran out of time so i had to shoot the video on 2 different days in 2 different boats. The shaft will always leak water like that because the water from the pickup gets pulled through a hose that flows water on to the shaft through the dripless packing to keep it from burning out the seals inside the dripless packing. I have to say this was a tough one as i wanted to make it short, but kept messing up, as I didn't want to cut any corners in the video. I was tricking my own mind trying to keep it simple haha.
Great video. Thx. No need to warm up the motor before pulling antifreeze through it?
Not on a closed cooled engine no. The water is not running through the thermostat. Coolant is. If you did an open cooled engine you would want to get the thermostat open. Closed cooled the water only cools the coolers, the radiator or thermal command center, and exhaust manifolds.
awesome video. thank you.
Joe? Thanks for doing this video, I will tackle this job in my 205V.
Great video!
Do you happen to have a link to those lights??
OVERSTOKED!! Thanks for making this 🙌🏻
Looks like I might have to do this on my 18 XT 23. Great video on this! Thanks!!
Do you have a link to the Ilmor video you mention in the beginning of the video? You also mention that you were going to make a video of you doing the installation in the boat. Do you have a link to that?
what replacement actuator is that? Do you have a link?
I have not yet added them to my website yet. Feel free to text me on my work cell 916-538-9577.
Sorry this is all new to me. Cell 916-538-9577
How much does that actuator cost? Thanks
@@bamawake The Billet actuators are like $800 a pop. I've heard they fail as much as the plastic ones...
Thanks for the video. Very insightful
Let me know if there are any other videos you would like to see.
These lights can go onto any boat any make/model any year.
I might have missed it, but were the control wires for the lights already installed from factory? Or did you run them back to the head unit?
The harness already has them in it. depending on the year and or if the display has the option. If it has the option you should have the wires in the harness. They are all labeled at the ends. Also on my site is the wire harness if you do not have it. 508027A the switch end can be changed to whatever style you want. As I grow I will build things like this that are more universal. Just need to grow lol.
Let me know what video you want to see next? I am going to do an LED RGB underwater light next.
@@WakeWorldParts-cb1vj, ok I had tried peeking around from under the seat (with my phone camera) and see if I can find any wires - but nothing noticeable. I'll try and pull my bow backrest off and get a better look. (2018 X20, Dual screens - it does have the bow light option). I also tried looking for the heated seat wires but nothing for those either... (supposably, subwoofer area for the captain chair and near cargo light under the spotter seat). I have yet to find any videos on installing heated seats if you have one!
@@OpDawg1077 worst case you can buy the harness. I got lucky in the video. I did a 2018 XStar and i had to remove the front bow cushion to get to the wires because they were zip tied up inside. Like I said i got lucky with this boat in the video.
