FLGS Unsealed: No MAP? ALL Problems...
My hot take is that the Ultramarines should be considered a divergent chapter with the amount of shit they get
Would love to see more of these.
Man always start with the castigator so everything gets the ap bonus
Me and a friend started to get into this last year and managed a few slow games tto get the rules down, do you feel these will be quicker or slower than last edition to get your head around? Presuming we retained no knowledge of last edition and we're looking with fresh eyes?
Faster for sure
I definitely assumed it was one fire token per critical hit on scouge weapons. Hasn't seemed to have a big impact in my games so far with core saves and the fires being put out at the end of turn on 4+ but definitely one to get an answer too! Cheers for the video.
You cannot give the flamers dev wounds in overwatch. The strat specifically says in your shooting phase. That would be an out of phase interaction.
The Torrent point ignores the real elephant in the room which is Precision Strike improving the whole group's Lock to 3+
I don't think anyone disagrees with the fact the PS needs a tweak. General consensus seems to be either move it to 2AP or keep it 1AP but make it "single ship" rather than entire group.
If it's per wing, you get silly decisions about whether you want to attack with one wing of 10 (one Fire crit maximum) or 10 wings of 1 (10 Fire crits as a theoretical maximum). It's a time-wasting choice to give a player because it doesn't simulate anything.
42:00 Resistance fleets with nothing but Bombardment mortars as weapons. Its the build that's been going around and seems to be optimal.
That's got more to do with the state of the other Resistance weapon options rather than the bombardment mortar itself
@someguy3748 Sure, but it still matters for the question of whether anyone is running bombardment skew lists that depend on those bombardment weapons for anti-ship firepower.
40:28 If you follow that argument, there shouldn't be firing arcs.
39:15 Being able to fire Bombardment weapons from atmosphere at targets in orbit is absurd.
Dave said that is not attended at Weapons Free apparently.
I love how absolutely everyone mispronounces "Hiruko" as "Hiroku."
The "streamlining" of dropsites ended up making it much harder to understand.
Nice!
Mephiston was released on GWS a week ago
I think I've played a game against that Blood Angels player! Very cool to see him in this. Good guy
Looking forward the plastic Resistance battleship set. While it might make them look morenthe same, they'll be a lot easier to work with than resin!
Does "Sig" include spikes for SWACS range? 10:53
Genitor Tower? What is this Genitor Tower of which you speak? 8:31
Yay! The revisions allow you to have one of each structure! 6:29
Thanks for the game. It helpt me much better understand the new rules, especially the things which are now not written (as the rules changed from v1). Did you make the quick reference sheets yourself? Can you share it?
interesting paint job! Simple yet effective!
I'm surprised that you didn't mention Sustained Fire on the Magnetron Lash. Doubling attacks from 4 to 8 on the second turn of shooting at a target with Scald-2 makes this a dreadnought wrecker. More so even than the Mega Plasma Lance Battery because that lacks Scald.
I want that orbital mat. Just can’t find any in the UK. 😢
Cheers for the content!
Thanks for the runthrough ! Learned a lot.
The use of "reduce" is one of the most confusing things in the whole rulebook.
Turn 6: You can stand still on Course Change, it's just worded a bit strange with "must move up to half". "May move up to half" would be better and effectively the same.
Short comment, only 5 10 minutes in: the constant "or whatever" is a bit distracting and makes it harder to follow especially when diacussing ship's abilities. Not knowing the profiles and Rules by Heart I'd rather hear them stated clearly and more confidently. I'd recommend cutting it in the future. Same with time spend thinking about moves (unless where you are explaining your reasoning for a move). I Hope this is taken in the Sprit it is meant. Making this better. Will continue watching and will Post another comment when done. Really excited to See DFC2.0 coverage.
Notes: The Newton kill-sat is a Monitor, so it can't use Max Thrust. Edit: You caught that.
I really enjoyed the battle report. I can’t wait to play a game!
yes your admiral is still alive, but was it worth commiting various, unspeakable war crimes?
They are unspeakable because the enemy was unavailable to comment.
Super excited to watch this!
Super interesting stuff but the music is just a tad loud: can't wait for the next one
Thanks for the feedback. Sill tuning. I cut the background music in half for the next one.
@WhereYouGoForGames no worries. Love the content would love to know more. Keep it up
They really, really didn't want For the Species to be too strong. You have to be within 3" before activating, you only deal half of your remaining hull, and they still get backup or shield saves.

Quetzacoatl: ''How about we build a Uranium from actual uranium?''
Great video, been loving the DFC content you are all putting out! Just a note though, one of you mentioned that Volley weapons can shoot on the same side now, but I think this may be a misunderstanding of the FAQ. Volley-2 still can't fire 2 shots out of the same side, unless the target group happens to be in both side arcs. The point in the FAQ about not needing to alternate was specifically in regards to having multiple volley weapons in a group, or on a ship and across rounds. They were clarifying that if you shoot out of port with the first Volley-2(or more) weapon, and only got the one attack off, then fired another Volley-2 weapon on the same ship/group it isn't forced to shoot starboard because it's a separate weapon, and that rounds essentially "reset" the last side you shot from.
The Overlord of Flies passive specifies friendly Fighters & Bombers that activate within 14”, so it does not matter if they come from the Overlord or another ship.
I finally figured out Master of Gravity! You give it to a friendly group, which can immediately turn 45 degrees. Then, Vectored allows it to turn 45 degrees more than usual during its movement, for a total of 135⁰, which is pretty scary. Go on Course Change orders and you can do a full 180. Alternatively, Impel 45 degrees, go on Max Thrust, and turn up to 45⁰ at *any point* during its move. That makes Max Thrust insanely more useful.
Precision Strike vs. other Admiral abilities across all factions. Here, it seems to mean "each weapon of this type." In other abilities, it seems to mean "a single weapon." I'll have to look at this and see if it's my imagination.
Forcing an Unfair Fight: It says "or" not "and," so it's not 5 on the dropsite proper *and* 5 on each feature. However, it's not clear whether you have to place all of the Battalions in the same location--all on a single feature, for instance, or all on the dropsite proper.
Why does EVERY Shaltari ship look EXACTLY the same? They REALLY REALLY flubbed the designs for the Shaltari and the Scourge.. I honest to god wish they'd put in the effort for a redesign. Especially for the Shaltari. The Resistance has SO much uniqueness and flavor with endless painting possibilities. Then they go "Oh here's the shaltari.. they're all orange half circles.. and here's the scourge.. they're all purple tentacles! Brother ughh...
Im VERY glad they got rid/vastly simplified the whole Orbit nonsense.
gargles
Gave ya a thumbs up cause I have no idea why this has 35 downvotes.. its informative, you give solid opinions, and yer not trying to push them as facts. Loved it. Starting with the 2.0 set and plan on buying a bunch of UCM Ships... just cant figure out what. Actually.. if some of you Dropfleet vets could do something like that as a video.. that'd be great. "You bought the 2.0 Starter, here's how you can expand it!" ala heres how to get your first fleet built.. type video. :)
Hi! New player here, we’re struggling to understand fighters and bombers, are the individual bombers on each base considered an asset, so when you say a light cruiser deploys 12 bombers, I’m assuming that’s 12 individuals over 4 bases? And do each of those 12 models throw 3 attack dice each? So if they all hit the same target they’d throw 36 dice? Thanks!
Hey. Me and a friend got into this late last edition. And yeah you've got that right. The launch assets were represented by base per launch value. And each base makes attacks. Resistance are known for many dice at poor lock value 🎉
@xblue_kennyx4519 champion thanks for your help!
Also, you can combine wings launched by different ships during movement. This is important because for each bomber above six, the target has to allow one successful hit to go through without a K save. No K save means no re-rolls from Aegis or fighters. For example, suppose a wing of 7 bombers attacks a ship. One hit is going to ignore armor. The bombers roll their 21 attacks; bad luck results in only 8 hits. One of those hits bypasses the armor save. However, the target is a group of two ships, so they still get their 6+ backup save (BS) against that hit. Luckily, it goes through and inflicts a point of Hull armor. The target makes armor (or shield) saves against the remaining 7 hits. We'll assume 4+ armor (kinetic save). Armor stops 2 hits and the BS stops one more, so the target takes 3 more hull damage for a total of 4. What happens if 12 bombers attack instead? Well, six if the hits are going ro bypass armor or shields, but the target still gets its BS. With 36 attack dice you're going to get 6 hits or more, you're nearly certain to inflict 5 hull points of damage if you have absolutely terrible luck. If the target is protected by Aegis and can re-roll, it's going to stop 75% of hits with armor, plus 17% of the remainder with BS. This means about 80% of the hits will be stopped. If the bombers get exactly 18 hits (18), 6 will go through with one stopped by BS. The remaining 12 face armor, armor rerolls from, Aegis and the BS. 2 points gets through, for a total of 7. That doesn't seem like much of an improvement ove the 7 bomber attack, but it's against a vastly better protected target. Throw Aegis into the first example and hardly anything get through except for the hit that bypasses armor. If we look at a target with a 2+ KS (with or without Aegis), those bypass hits are about the only thing doing damage!
A lot of Shaltari ships feel much weaker now (my poor Mercury), but stuff like the Iridium could help make up for it. Just remember not to target groups because they'll ignore the status thanks to formation benefits.
Citrinine seems to be a straight upgrade over an Emerald.
