Thanks to Prof. Shweta Prasad Madam for interviewing Prof. Vidyut Joshi Sir. It's a comprehensive analysis of the status of Sociology discipline in India. I enjoyed and gained a lot of intellectual input from the interview. He covered so many aspects of the subject just within 30 minutes. He touched upon the French Revolution to neo-liberalism; the history of Indian sociology to the future role of sociologists; e-commerce companies to carbon footprints; competition to cooperation; old value system- inequality, liberty & fraternity to new values system- ethics, equity & ecology; need to follow polymer approach by sociologists to need for streamlining the distribution by the government/s; economy to stress; lifestyle to food; four pillars of education to human being as living thing (not a resource); millennium development goals to UN SDGs; issues emerged from current market model to AI, etc. Finally, Sir analyzed well about why people work. On the whole, Sir explained the past, present, and future of Indian sociology.
