I would of sent the tinny beats in the first 2/3’s to the background or if at all cut them out so they could build up to the last 3rd of the track. Like the strings and think they compliment your voice and image.. could be interesting, lots of potential. look back at what people like Mica Paris was upto in her day, and other uk soul arts have been doing the last 5 decades. Would be good to see someone break the mold, if you’re up for it?! ; London soul scene needs to tap into the roots of the city.. Good luck
