I am an amateur composer, based in Hertfordshire, England. Best described as “modern classical” I aim for accessible music, with melody to the fore, in a range of ensemble size and instrumentation, from solo to orchestral.
Unless otherwise noted, audio and video playback has been created with the Sibelius score-writing software, with music generated using NotePerformer.
I am always delighted to hear from anyone about my music, or news of performances - please contact me via the e-mail address below. Some scores are downloadable as PDFs from my web site; please contact me if you wish to have scores of other pieces

Night Dive in Cayman
A tone poem of impressions from a night time scuba dive in the Cayman Islands. Main episodes in the piece:
00'02'': Prepare to dive - on the boat preparing to leave, on a dark sea with only the boat and jetty lights illuminating the scene
01'18'': in the coral reef
02'41'': a conger eel lurking in a cleft in the rocks
03'43'': a potential meal for the conger swims up
04'27'': the conger strikes, but the fish escapes to the safety of the reef
05'47'': a shoal of darting little fishes
06'55'': a giant turtle swims slowly by, scattering the shoal
08'35'': a lobster waves its claws in a stately dance
09'56'': broaching the "wall" - Grand Cayman is at the summit of an extinct sea volcano; the wall is the top of a sheer mountainous plunge into the dark depths, making a dramatic contrast to the reef
12'34'': returning to my girlfriend waiting back at the diving lodge

"The Lakes" is a short collection of pieces representing various locations in the English Lake District. Instrumentation is varied, from small chamber to full orchestra. Hardknott Fort is a ruined Roman fort on the Hardknott Pass overlooking the Esk valley. It has largely disappeared but the ground plan is complete. The setting is one of sombre deserted beauty, but also a reminder of the milita...

This piece is a jaunty imagining of a twenties-style pleasure trip complete with flapper dressess, blazers, and straw...

The second movement: a jaunty piece based around suspensions and held chords This is a revision of the original second movement which I was not entirely happy with

The fourth movement, in Allegro Moderato time, predominantly featuring fast pizzicato
Very nice, it could really benefit from a less mechanical interpretation to reveal its entire beauty
The calm melody together with the constantly moving passages is impressive. It evokes a sense of elegance, of the shimmering surface of the river, of the natural and historical landscape with its rivers.
Thank you, the intent was to represent the flow of the river both fast moving and slow moving, with its various pools and eddies
