Are y’all OK? I know you work in the Lake Lure area and I haven’t seen any videos from your channel. Hope everything is going well for you and thoughts and prayers for everyone affected by Hurricane Helene. ♥️
Prayers for Lake Lure and Chimney Rock after the devastation. Referred to yall from Hillbilly and I see you guys are nearby us (near Taylorsville NC)…. Anyway new sub and binging your vids. Ive got a 2020 Reflection and by watching Hillbilly see that my converter is already bad…
Rv Hillbilly pointed me here. BTW, mispelled "friends" on outro vid.
Never did an RV ac/heat setup up before, but used to repair Amana, LG, GE Ptac's for hotels and found all kinds of fun stuff that the assemblers had screwed up, ah, the good old days when you could actually take one apart and clean all the coils without replacing the cheap ass Styrofoam housings.
Finally found your channel, this is Laundry Man Adams. I think we met on Kenny’s live stream some time back. Glad to see you guys are doing well and look forward to your videos.
Wow, as Johnny would say back in the day... How Bad Is It? It's bad! Supply chain damage is out of control.
not being able to get a direct replacement was not the issue. Installing a new ac, though did require a new ceiling assembly. We went with an advent to reduce the cost for the client. There is a new office memo that on Airstreams, we only go back with direct replacements in the future.
Holy moly two back to back.
Yep, ended up installing a standard advent (not low profile) but upgraded to a 15,000 btu.
I am going to start doing dry runs with my coddiwample from now on.
We are actually discussing setting up a place in the warehouse to bench test all components when they arrive, prior to scheduling the job to prevent issues like this.
That sucks! Sorry to hear about not one, but 2 bad units right out of the box. Great video! Thanks for sharing Tony!
Thank you for watching.... it happens unfortunately.
Sorry to see that. It’s amazing to see a lot of bad stuff right out of the box. Great video and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching... We appreciate it.
Well that sucks. Good idea bench checking the a/c before you install. Even though you shouldn't need too. Thanks Don
Shouldn't have to... I agree. Thanks for watching.
I have actually started bench testing Coleman and Dometic to check for cooling before I go out to install them. Too many are bad out of the box. I wouldn’t expect that the mount would be damaged. It’s always frustrating to go through so much trouble and find a bad product. I have had a brisk air get jammed up because of a high crown on the roof. Sounds like that’s not the case here. Great video, and Great Job!
Thank you and we appreciate your comments and you watching.
Dam a Avent sure can leave a nasty taste in your mouth.. 😢😢😊
It was actually a shock... we have never had to work on an advent. We have been installing them for 3 summers now and have never even had any callbacks, warranty or issues.
Missed it by that much!! lol.
Thanks for watching.
YAY!!!!! I am first again. Gotta love those old long-term campgrounds. Airstream did strange things. WOW!!!! Thank you trucking company for dropping the AC. That sucks guys.
You never know what you are going to run into in the long term campgrounds. In this one, they are sold over and over agian... really no way to pull them out or get new ones in. Many times, previous owners have made additions and things can get really wonky...
@@yourfriendsinthervbusiness Oh trust me, I know.
That ain't mustard yellow. That is WV Gold with Navy Blue lettering. Awesome job on this video guys. Can't wait to see you again in a few weeks.
Now Hillbilly, you know how much Anthony likes "Too much Mustard".... Ha Ha
The Breakleys do look lovely!
Yes, they do. Thanks for watching.
Nice video!
Thank you and we appreciate you watching.
Thanks for sharing, Don
Thanks for watching
It was so nice meeting you at the hotel. Can't wait to watch all your videos.
Great to meet you guys too!! Thanks!
Two talented RV tech's together with their wives for a fun afternoon - so nice to see - thanks for sharing this video - from an ole retired furniture maker in Michigan
It was good times! Thanks for watching.
You guys made one good statement, as to cost, ya mite as well buy a Park Model. I like that, plus my thinking is how many nites can I spend in motels or B&B for 170K. At 78 I don’t think I’ll get another one, if I did it would be a Toy Box of some sort for my travels to Utah, and maybe the Hatfield Trail systems 😊
It was so awesome to meet you at escape inn in pa. What causes our water to smell like rotten eggs?
it was nice to meet you as well. I would recommend servicing the water heater and then run a few ounces of bleach through the entire system and flush it well.
Great video Tony! How about removing the motor with the squirrel cage fan still attached? R&R the cage while the motor is out?
I was probably brain farting... on the coleman the squirrel cage has to come off before the motor.
Enjoyed the video ! Yall are the first ones I call when I have a rv problem!
I am glad you enjoyed it. thank you for watching and we also appreciate you choosing us to serve you.
Thanks for the awesome shout out buddy. Can't wait to see ya'll this weekend. I see the DNA on the evap coils. I would have left more than that. ha ha
It was great to see you guys this weekend. Yes, that my DNA
Great video. Thanks for sharing Don
Thanks for watching.
Always nice to watch a seasoned RV tech at his trade - used to be a carpenter often going out in all kind of weather so huge appreciation for what you do
Thank you and thanks for watching.
I had to replace the motor on my fifth wheel Suburban furnace because the bearings went out. RV is almost new, but we’re the second owners. Expected it to last much longer than it did.
nothing lasts like they used to... thanks for watching.
I have used Wago 221 with the lever action instead of crimping. Never had a problem.
yes, we use wagos in many situations, but with this being exterior, chose to do the heat shrink, more water proof. Thanks for watching
I watch Kenny at Hillbilly RV all the time. He recommended your channel.
Awesome. He is a great guy.
Just subscribed. Sent oven to your channel from Hillbilly RV
Awesome. Welcome and thanks for watching.
Try pistol grip pliers
What’s with all you RV repair techs and dogs? Have you seen Hillbilly RVs latest video and a big husky? He said it was a stray and smelt foul. Lol.
Camper people love their dogs...
So im guessing the relay on the old box was good ? How often do you come across problems like these ?
The relay on the board was bad, the old control box was left in to run the furnace.
Great video Tony. Do you perfer Milwaukee tools ?
I’m liking them pretty good, yeah!
Thanks for this upgrade video. Helps to alleviate some of the trepidation of tackling it ourselves. Do some companies build more robust models for dealing with the environment they'll be put to use in? Very hot and generally dry (Phoenix, AZ) versus 4 seasons with humidity & direct precipitation.
We have a class a with a happi-jac bed lift. Nothing but problems when it was new but now all good. Still have bad memories of it not working and using c clamps to keep it from falling down on us while driving so we could get it back to the dealer!!
I appreciate the detail you put in your repair videos.
Thank you, I do try to be as detailed as possible, it can make the videos longer though.
Outstanding asm of the new lock set great job.
Thank you kindly!
Thanks for sharing. Don
You bet and thank you for watching.
Oh no....What did you do to the dogs? ha ha You need at least 2 more hands buddy.
Thankfully, nothing, the owners did..... yes, and sometime, 4 more.
Seems like a nice lock. If you do get a hat mount camera, don’t make sudden movements when you’re recording gives everybody vertigo.
They are great locks..... we have one on our coach as well. I was just reminded that I have a tripod, maybe I should get that out next time.
Were you able to finish the job ? Did you have to replace the rails ? Mine has this exact same problem.
No, the client was moving on and going to take it to dealer.
I’m curious if they needed to replace the whole system. You did a great job getting everything apart and back together. That is a very difficult job.
Hillbilly said this was the new channel to check out ;-) Was hoping to get a more close up look at how you did the upper corners. Going to be doing a small slide on mine so I'm checking out how different people do it. So far I like the way James did it. Sounds like he did something similar to you. He kind of notched them so they fit together.
Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the job, I forget you can't always see what I'm doing... Thanks for watching and welcome.
Great job Tony, thank you for sharing
Thank you for watching
Excellent job of videoing. It is tough doing both the repair and the video and keeping it all together in a meaningful way all by yourself.
Thank you and I appreciate you watching.
The gasket under the A/C unit looks different from others I've seen. What keeps water from filtering into ceiling?
compression of the gasket keeps the water from getting in. thanks for watching
I’m definitely judgy of how dirty that roof is…🤣
I do give many customers your information..
