Welcome to Sling Cape’r: Our Unique Sling Tsi Build in Cape Town!
Looking good! I enjoy seeing your progress!
Thanks. It’s not without its frustrations but it’s fun just the same.
Well done George, loving the vids. Hoping you and Vic are both well and enjoying your travels. Paul & Ally
Having a great time. Nice to hear from you guys. Hope all is well.
channeling John Campbell there I see with the Sling person visit 🤣
😂😂. Please don’t associate me with him!!
@@FalcoGeorge not THAT John Campbell. Dr John Campbell
Oh.. that’s better. Now I understand. You can group me with him ok.
That instrument panel looks really good!
Thanks. Still got some work to go yet but hopefully should come out pretty well. We’ve got a few different ideas coming up.
good one Bryn
Yeah.. very helpful.
which friends did Harry think they were? Does he know friends with a plane?
Yes. He had the right aircraft type but that was about all.
FNN was a nice color, was it lmola Yellow? Did u notice if that 210 had any flat spots on the tires yet
If it's nice then it must be Imola Yellow!! 🤣 The tires didn't seem to have any holes in them, although he was trying! 😜
what does the cardboard box do?
Just something to hold a screen at the correct height without the panel being installed.
lots going on at Morningstar
Yeah. It was quite busy.
how do you keep track of what wires are what?
That’s what everyone else says. The secret is, it doesn’t matter. You just connect them to anything!
@@SlingCaper 😁
I've seen worse on the desk mess :)
😂🤣
Rusks!!! 😋
Yep. That’s how you know Glen is here.
@@SlingCaper and tea!
Yeah….. yuk!
Looks like you’re having a fun/ frustrating time . Wondered how you’ve been , you’ve been quiet ! Dell computer ??? 😂
Yes. Fun and frustrating indeed. Very very busy to go with it. Yes Dell. 🤮. Unfortunately the thing that needs it only runs one Windows.
thanks for the update - hopefully Sling Garmin etc send you the stuff you need
I hope so too.
🙌 @emiratesteamnewzealand
@SlingAircraft the guy needs your rivets!
Yes!!
will that show somewhere on the dashboard -that on off list? Or is it just for testing purposed and back end use?
It’s just for testing and setting up the equipment.
@@SlingCaper ah thought so
yes they work!!!
You betcha
So the sky skoda got the speedbrake idea from the bucaneer?
Haha. Yeah mate. It’s got that look about it.
great work this week!!!! heaps of VP
Trying!
so many wires
And it’s just the start.
@@SlingCaper yikes... reminds me of our office cupboard lol
😂. Well I hope I can make it look better than that!
great progress and good to see Glen fits in!! DELL!!?? lol
Yeah. In the wrong seat but he fits.
What was the fast one with the really pointy nose at the museum?
Mirage F1. Nice eh? French design.
@@SlingCaper really
When does the engine turn up?
You’re asking the wrong guy! 😜
@@SlingCaper dang
What’s the hot pink rag?
You’ve got me on that one.
Sling not good at giving all and correct parts !
They’re terrible. I’m embarrassed for them. The building manual is a disgrace too.
Haha
Was that me spilling rivets?! You can only do so much with one hand!
@@SlingCaper yes LOL
Harry! 😂
@@VickiGGNZ let’s say he values thrift. 😂
@@FalcoGeorge 😆
He avoided having to clean up the rubbish. Glen got it sorted, however I’m busy with making more!
Did it have all the 43 parts?
@@VickiGGNZ No.. but it was a good start. About 8 to go.
@@FalcoGeorge great!
Yes, although we are discovering more as time goes on due to their poor manuals and record keeping.
Those power things are dumb 😂
@@VickiGGNZ you’re not wrong!
Having to have a bunch of adapters in your house seems silly. It’s obviously their way of “adapting” a new standard to an old. Ideally they’d revisit it and change to a better standard but I guess the country has bigger problems to deal with first.
284 hours woop
And so far to go !
What did you do to your thumb?
LOL.. you aren't supposed to notice that.. just a battle scar.
@@SlingCaper you know I do
Very clever figuring out the alternative to that. I’d definitely get stuck with not bring able to fit the drill in the space.
Necessity !! There seems to be a few of these instances.
@@SlingCaper my very own macgyver
It looks like tinfoil lol
Well its got a bit of that too!
Looking forward to the next stages of the build, and of course, showing everyone the Cape Town food spots and cafes in future videos
@@VickiGGNZ I’m looking forward to testing the food for its suitability to post on here! 😜
@@FalcoGeorge heehee yum
I know!
Awesome - looks quite roomy inside.
@@VickiGGNZ Heaps of room for us to visit places. Just need to convince Glen to take us!
@@FalcoGeorge easy!!!
He’s pretty excited.
I just found this channel George. I’ll be following along for sure👍 I know you’ll do a craftsman level job. Could you just operate that flapper valve with a “momentary switch” to enable partial operation?? Good to see you’ve got a ready supply of coffee close by 😂
@@wonderfulworldofWoody Hi Woody..enjoy.. It's an adventure for sure. Did think of the momentary switch idea but want it to be a bit more like a car. The people who sell the valves in the UK also have an analogue version. I will be reusing the current valve in a different spot.
awesome!!!
Thanks!!
Wow can’t believe how much you’ve done. ❤ loved seeing your old office ANZ plane. You’ve really got a thing about rivets now.
🤣
Glad you enjoyed it!
Did the 210 have any flat spots on the tyres?
It must have, surely.
Please document your entire project | where in the City are you building this?
Hi. We are building this at 91 Loop Street. It’s in the Honey Badger Café.
How did the cafe get its name?
Beats me.
Looking good mate!
Thanks 👍
That’s hideous
😂😂
Such an amazing backdrop
stunning for sure
Busy!!
always!
😂
😜
Cute paint job on that RV
It was a beautiful
Gorgeous day
Very!
And no cuts on your hand
for a change!
Well now, that is a pretty good solution for the trailing edge of the wing tip problem. I recently viewed another channel and he went all out by grinding it down and patching it. Super grand idea, thanks. I will be incorporating this into my build if you don’t mind. I should be receiving my wings by the end of July, I also purchased the extended fuel tanks. You’re the first person I have seen with that upgrade. Are you going to use the wing pumps from Midwest ?
Pleased you like it. Personally I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t take the extended range tanks. Very little extra work even if you hardly used them. Not sure about the Midwest pumps. They seem like a reasonable idea but I’ve never heard of the specific incidents where there was a problem and not sure I’m a huge fan of the facet pumps. We shall see. We will probably end up doing it.
awesome video!
Thanks!
