Driving Test Routes - Chertsey

Is Chertsey easy or Isleworth easy? And do you take new student?
They are similar, as long as you are familiar with the areas. Drop me an email rahansdrivingschool@gmail.com
I would say Chertsey is more country side ish and has. More high speed roads. Big roundabouts. Isleworth much more city like. Less high speed routes.

Hi Great video Do you need to signal as you approach on the multi roundabouts with lane markings?
Hello, yes you should signal on approach and leave signal on until you pass the exit before the one you want then you would apply your exit (left) signal. If your changing lanes i.e 'drifting' to the left lane as you progress make sure your checking your left mirror and a possible sideways glance.

Apex roundabout is such a monster to get correct. It's that fourth exit where you need to drift onto the left lane while also checking your left blind spot. I've had times during my practice where the left lane (cars coming in from the 2nd exit) are parallel to me and I have to take the 4th exit on the right lane instead, then indicate to get back onto the left lane once there is space. It's a very situational roundabout that can throw you into a really sticky moment out of the blue and fail you. Also in general, my instructor has said that if you are turning right into a main road but you're not able to get onto the left lane, then you won't fail if you need to cross over onto the left lane soon afterwards. This can happen when coming into the A4 from that double roundabout or near syon lane station.
Agree the apex is challenging, you also need to keep a good constant pace as you drive around and try to glance in your left door mirror. Some pupils feel a bit overwhelmed first few attempts and can sometimes be so focused on the left lane that they tend to slow down too much (and forget which exit they want) which tempts other drivers to try and 'get past' them! It's a good one to practice every lesson so you get comfortable with it
@z z he’s talking about the roundabout called “Apex Corner” at 4:52. It’s where the A316 (the dual carriageway he’s driving on) meets the A312. He approaches it on a slip road which happens in the test.
Hello - when you came off the Tolworth roundabout heading south and onto the slip road you accelerated to join the A3 but did so well before the 50 signs which are towards the end of the slip road. Surely you should wait to accelerate above 30 until you pass these signs? Thanks 😊
Yes that's right, accelerate right upto 30 stay in 3rd gear and as soon as your at the 50 sign then really pick up the speed to match the traffic on the main road
@@rahanadi7865 Sure, thanks. Those 50 signs should be further back in my opinion. That’s not enough distance really considering the impending join onto the A3. Thanks for the response, and the video which was very helpful.

Thank you for video.i passed the test this week on first try.its almost the same route to Lalehm. Examiner took me to clockhouse roundabout too .luckily all went fine and had just a couple of minors.

Hello, unfortunately I am not too familiar with southall, generally most test centres should be similar with their own challenges.

Fantastic video. Isleworth test route is all about local knowledge. This route literally marks the boundary of isleworth test route. The pain points are three roundabouts starting from st. Margaret’s. One way after quality foods. Bus lanes. Mini roundabouts near lamptons joining the great west road. The instructor has explained it very clearly. Now it’s upto pupil you practice

If it's your first attempt then look at it as a 'trial' run ..you just want to see what the test is like, don't put pressure on yourself to pass just to experience a test with an examiner in the car, you'll be fine 👍
Also would like to ask when going right 3rd exit on a multi lane roundabout is it ok to use the middle lane or is that a serious or dangerous fault ?
It depends on the road markings but if the middle and right lane are both turning right then try and preference the left of the two lanes (hope that makes sense) it could be a serious fault if you used the left lane to turn right and affected other traffic flow.
@@rahanadi7865 Ok because in that isleworth video going third exit is saw you use the left lane after the 2nd exit would it be ok to use the middle lane or is it just the left lane ?

Thank you for the video! Do you have some more? I found it very interesting!! I have my test the next 28th of August and I'm soooo scared about it! Do you know if they have parking in a bay, reversing or in to? Because I've heard they don´t do it in Ashford because they don´t have space for it... is it true? Thanks in advance.
Hello, yes they do have bay parking reverse & forward, there is a carpark by the river they could take you or maybe the Tesco supermarkets. You should look at the test as a 'trial' and just think your just seeing what it's like and it doesn't matter if you pass/fail. Best of luck :)
