I was watching this randomly a few days ago when I recognised the background, so I thought I'd pop it on here.
The Drive At Munden - Winter To Summer In 30 Seconds
Переглядів 7082 місяці тому
Back in February, I took a walk along the drive at The Munden Estate. I shot a little bit of footage of the bare trees and made a mental note to go back and do the same again in the summer and edit them together. This is the little result.

20 and 21st Century Architects are vandals.
A lot of vandalism of lovely old buildings has been carried out by Brent Council in the name of progress.
...excellent music
Willesden Town, grew up there from '73, lovely place, left in 2001, now a dump, a total dump.
Nice pics! Malaysian here. About 30 years ago I joined HSBC and went to Bricket Wood to attend their management trainee programme. Was there for about 7 weeks. 1996 was a great year.
Thank you for Sharing Gary.
Rest in peace paddy
Love how it’s changed so much
Love how a lots change but you can still recongnise where places would of been have you subscribed back mate ? 😊
Thank you for sharing this recording, I’ve been watching as much as I could but I missed them fledging, so very pleased I can watch it here.
‘Peregrine Falcon’ 🐎🦅 racing in first race at Ascot today! Had to place £1 e/w 😂🤞 Thanks for capturing one fledging, I been following them since the eggs were laid. Incredible!
Did it win?
Norwich cathedral ones have fledged as well
❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Sad times, special thanks to the three main political parties for allowing this and desecrating our green belt
The only person responsible for this is Eric Pickles. He made the decision to allow it. SADC did all they could to stop it, but he overruled everything.
Noisy arent they until sated!
Brilliant
Fantastic, Gary. Brought back memories. There used to be a sweet shop on the left side of Watling Street looking North. It was called "Duck Your Nut" , because the entrance was so low! Do you have a photo of that?
Excellent to see them return every year Not many pigeons around that area
Not for long anyway 🙂
I'm really surprised that local governments don't "employ" these birds more often in cities. Damn efficient, but cheap labor!
So beautiful
How can they relax with Mum constantly shuffling about ?
Just to say they're not allowed in the pub garden either. Shame for me because we loved the pub, then we had a baby.. Oh well... I understand the policy, it's a shame for us now but was great when we wanted a quiet pint before so there you go.. RIP Sam. (Pub Dog)
Jesus what a dull boring man. Sitting in his sad little pub . Moaning to one man and his dog, " Why do I have to pay my taxes". Everything wrong with this country.
I love this me and hubby trying to arrange to get rid of our kids to go for a lunch asap 😂Thanks Gary for putting this on yt and I have subscribed
😂😂😂😂 FANTASTIC. Go on Red Lion.
There are so many places on here I didn’t even recognise- it was so beautiful back then 🤩🤩
Such beautiful places and spots, thanks for bringing in the show.
Tesco in Harlesden features some old screenshots of old Harlesden in the bulletin board insde.
Healthy and agile falcon - but insanitary roof !!
what a fantastic collection and quite emotional to see again. I moved to St.Albans in 1969, when I was 11. It was the perfect t place to grow up. We live on Hall Place Gardens near the old bus garage. then to Abbotts Park off London Road. I used to wash dishes in The haven Hotel. I played football for the Great Northern Pub and we were caged by the manager of the Oden, right next door. Exec used to get to see films for free, including The Exorcist, EnterThe Dragon, Last Tango In Paris and Confessions of a Window Cleaner. I also used to go to Saturday Morning Pictures on Saturday morning when I fist moved there. Would go to market on Saturday morning with my mum to help her carry the potatoes. Around Christmas we'd go to the Tudor tavern for a steak. and Boxing Day to Batchwood HallI I used to ride my Honda PC 50 to work at the Herts Ad. Drank at The Horn of Plenty, The Boot and Scotts Wine Bar. I moved to London in 1980, then New York, Sydney and now Los Angeles but I really miss St.Albans
I’ve lived in the area since 1967, lovely place back then, prefabs, Roundwood Park, Brent Show, Jubilee Clock, M&S, Boots where the shoe shop is now, Wollies, Wimpy by KFC. There was a girls school on Park Parade by the roundabout now flats. The old Vauxhall dealer Scotch Corner with car wash. Good old memories, the nursery by the church up from Jubilee clock is still there that I went to. I remember the toy shop by the clock aswell, Toy Cave or `toy Centre it was called. The place is an absolute dump now sad to say. I don’t even walk along there now as nothing there for me, just rubbish shops, total dross claiming benefits hanging around, the stink of cannabis everywhere, what a shame, very sad really. So far now grief all my time here but it’s dangerous now NW10 !
It was never the best area, but I had a good childhood there. I left in the 90s. Sadly, as you say, it has certainly gone downhill. On the very rare occasions I visit now, I am happy to be leaving. I remember the Toy Centre, and my sister's first job was at Scott's Corner Garage. We spent a lot of time in Roundwood Park too.
Were you Willesden High or Cardinal Hinsley by chance?
@@porkscratchings5428 No, I went to Sladebrook.
Not much shelter from the rain in that tray
That was perfect got bit tearful we lived in hemel for 60 years in somerset now for last 10 years great pictures music brill thank you
Always a little sad when I see my old home town. Does anyone have any information on Marshalswick house? I thought I knew the area but never knew about that.
This is worth a look: stalbansowneastend.org.uk/topics/marshalswick/

Great job - well done!
Lovely thankyou
Great video, shame there were no years on the old black and whites.
Very few old photos include dates, but if any do, I'll add them to future videos.
Great video, Gary. Lived on Radlett Road until 1984 and went to Park Street School from 1983-1989. I remember paddling in the river by The Old Red Lion whilst my dad had a pint 😀
I find this so sad especially if you walk to Hedges Farm across the fields. All the Hedgerows are gone all the trees have been cut down, Oak and Birch with the birds still trying to nest in them. The Rail freight is coming!
Yes, the same shot will probably look very different in a year or two.
Great pictures Gary, they brought back a lot of memories from the late 40's through to the mid 60's
Fantastic Gary!
Gary Broadbent. A nice production and I like the uplifting music. What is it?
It a piece of music called Earthspan, by Paul Mottram.
Thank you.
Absolutely wonderful, more please.
Always enjoy these montages.
Brilliantly put together - so interesting to see! thank-you
I was born in MPL in 1960, lived there for 28 years, lovely memories. My grandmother on my mother’s side, used to go to Lady Yule’s fair when she was young. Came down from London on the train. My grandfather founded the Bricket Wood club.
Excellent duo.. nice one lads.
Funnily enough I was watching another video on St Albans last week, and a local mentioned the lorry crashing into that old house on Holywell Hill @0:56. Funny I'm now seeing a photograph of it. Love these videos, very interesting to see how much St Albans has changed over the decades.
The Odeon, the clock and the church. Those look familiar to me from my time growing up in Harlesden and Willesden in the 70s and 80s.
I have just read the book … A Song For Tomorrow … what a lovely lovely read.
