Description
Thank you for the new videos! boy your ground looks lovely. The last hoop we put in took two of us 2 days to drive all 38 posts into the ground. Starting on our 3rd hoop this weekend. Over all we are thrilled with how durable and strong these hoops are. All three of are hoops are Zimmermans and they have held up verry well to UP snow loads.. I've also had a chance to look at other hoops that our fellow farmers are putting in, the one peace I'm jealous of on their hoops are the perlin straps that go over the arches rather than using the conduit mounts. It would be lovely to have that as an option. Also the sliding doors look awesome for snow country, if I'd known about them this last order I'd probably of done so. Anyway Great video!
When will the 4th video be out? I just purchased a Zimmerman high tunnel 30x96 with poly on both ends. Thanks for your very helpful videos!
Neglected to first mention cross dimensional measurement of said rectangle!! Captain Obvious!
Where do I find the 4th video where you assemble the sliding doors?
Hi @nanettemi800 , In part 4 we plan on showing polycarbonate installation. Unfortunately, the sliding doors will be shown in a later video.
When will the 4th video be out? I just purchased a Zimmerman 30x96 with poly end walls. It would make it much easier to watch your videos!! Thanks for all the work you have put into them.
@@jjstudio3947 when do you plan on the 4 video to be available?
Hi @samuelmarlow4050, sorry for the late response. Things have been busy and I haven't been able to finish the editing for part 4 yet, but we're planning on making it available sometime in October. Hopefully that's soon enough to help with your hightunnel.
I have two planned but will include ego thermal engineering to keep it warm in winter (snow-ice) and cool in July-August with a sun screen option.
Josh, Excellent video! I Thank God and You for this video! I'm a little baffled though on one issue thoughh and its probably just me and something ai ma overlooking. At 33:29, you say you like to attach the center purlin BEFORE you attach the arches to the sidewall posts. Not only does that seem almost impossible, but, in the video, you attached all the arches to the sidewall posts BEFORE you added the peak purlins. And I don't see how that would even be possible anyway, because of the purlins length, making it nearly impossible and at the very least, quite difficult, to attach the peak purlin before attaching the arches to the side posts. What am I missing here??? Thank you!
I think he meant that he leaves the Tek screws out until after the center purlin is installed.
Sorry for the confusion. What I like to do is set the arches on the posts, next I install the peak perlin, and once that is installed I fasten the arches to the sidewall posts with the Tek screws.
Excellent video, very informative and well done!
ETA on part 3?
Part 3 (Endwalls) is in progress, but may be several weeks before it's posted. EDIT: Part 3 can be found here -> ua-cam.com/video/KZCR-79OJWc/v-deo.html
@@jjstudio3947Thanks for replying, looking forward to it. I emailed you guys about quotes on some houses, but havent heard back yet. Looking forward to talking with y'all.
Masterclass on swinging a sledge hammer 😂. He made that look a lot easer than it will be for most people! Nice work!
İf i wanna make 5x12 metres size so what is enough for me??21,25,27 mm??profile pipe
Much appreciated information, tips and tricks, Josh. Thank you! Now, have you installed sliding doors in the metal end walls? We are about ready to do this on our 30x72 high tunnel and would appreciate your instruction ;-)
this video is a godsend. I'm building our first 30x70 8ft sidewalls, W truss, and the 36-inch vent fans Zimmerman with all metal, there was no video explaining much about those options. Thank you for this!!!!
I had a book of instructions that had no options for my specific high tunnel and it was written by the Amish. very hard to understand instructions with handwritten and drawn diagrams.

90's raver builds a greenhouse. Love it!
Very well-done video with great detail.

Nicely done updated video! Part 2??
Part 2 is still in the editing process, but hopefully will be available in a month or two. Edit: Part 2 can be found here. ua-cam.com/video/i_k_oYFQmkA/v-deo.html
I'm in the process of building a 34/96 with metal hip and side boards. I'm going to have extra wiggle wire track on top and bottom for bug netting the sidewall curtains are going to be interesting installing all of that on the metal boards@@jjstudio3947
Excellent videos. Im just hoping for a bit a clarification regarding the stake on connects mentioned at 22:41 that the other end of the 6’ piece of rope is tired to. Are those attached to the cable? Did I miss the step in which that is done?
Thanks for the videos, they helped a ton.
Where do you find the bat tape?
Thank you so much I learned a lot Your video made it so much easier to do what I needed to do can’t thank you enough
I love this video
Thank you so much
What is the size ogmf those galvanized pieces
If you are watching this you have access to the calculator built into your device and the Wikipedia entry "Solar azimuth angle." If the math doesn't scare you, you can use the shadow cast by the sun to find true north and from that a 3-4-5 right triangle will get you east-west. You can save yourself the price of a good compass if you or a friend can handle the math and you don't have to compensate for local magnetic anomalies.
You can make a jig out of a two by four and notch out where the bows should fit on the perlin. Ex. 4 ft, six ft, etc
someone get this guy a glass of water
Too complicated Use roll up sides I put this together does not work Will not go all the way down
Anybody know how much it cost to install one of this 30’x72’?
Thanks for making the video very helpful. Where do you get the side curtain plastic?
Thanks for the very informative video. Question; why do you guys roll the curtains upwards instead of downwards? Is there a reason for it because all the chicken houses around here have them where they go downwards.
Hello, and you're welcome! Zimmermans uses the drop down curtains mainly for ease of use, but also it works well to open them regardless of snow out side. With roll up curtains, you have to wait until the snow melts before they can be used.
how long should it take to build it?
Where is video 4??? Great job on your high tunnel..!!
If u know where l can buy the kit, please send me a message to: monjardinennue@yahoo.com Thanks
good man very halpful thanks

Can this house keep chicken in terms of the sun heat?
You are great at thoroughly explaining you are gonna be a good youtuber but dont be afraid of being funny or having some goofy type things in your video even funny banter!! But thanks very good video
buy a fence post driver for $25 or so and save a ton of work
Thank you so much for this video Should the both sides posts be the same level ? or levelling each side separately. Thanks
Good job. Thank U for sharing. The video is V.helpful.
Once you have a High Tunnel like this, you will wonder how you ever lived without it before.
How does it do in the snow? It hold a good snow load?
Awesome. Thank you.
Um Um um
You confused magnetic variation with solar declination
Ok I don’t know your location but my question is over the year you have had it. How did the 6ft on center did your hoop house hold up under snow and ice?
Very informative - thank you !
