Probably because he finds low rpm cruising comfortable, I like it too. But this motor is not the best at it. I can still cruise at 60, 70km/h in 5th gear, and the thump is ok. It is a short stroke engine after all, despite the big torque available. A w800, a HD or an old brit single is very relaxing to ride for this reason.
