Have you had any leaks, a lot of people say you need to use some sealant as well? How did the windshield go?
@@AndyFarnfield-oq8gt No leaks but it's only been in the rain once.Windshield went ok.Had my wife help with it.Definitely easier with two people.
Nice and informative video. I have a 46 Chevy PU with the same style rear window. Your video will be a big help, especially the tool tips. Thanks for sharing.
@@bulldogstrut1 No problem.Good luck with yours and thanks for watching.
that was awesome seeing how you use the bead roller to make graphics. Keep up the great work
@@kentieber7309 Thanks.I Definitely need to do it more often.
first person I ever saw install a window from the inside
Might've been easier from the outside but this worked. Thanks for watching.
Very cool project.. Going to be nice when you get it finished... Take care my friend....
Thanks.Appreciate it.
I have a 1941 international panel k model which i mounted on a 1978 scout traveler chassis, it was a nice easy swap and the tracking width is correct and no frame modifications needed to be done , ive also swapped out the 345 and now run a 440 magnum in the old girl , keep up the good work she,ll be great when your done it,s only a matter of time , and an ihc panel is definitely worth every hour it takes to do it , 👍
Thanks.Sounds like it would be pretty fun with that 440.
I have a '49 KB2 and just these body styles! Kudos man for choosing an IHC for a resto! Love it!
Thanks.Yeah I love em too, although I wouldn't call this a resto.
Why would a 48 have a smog pump?
It's on a 91 Dakota chassis with the 5.2 318.Only thing from the international is the body.
I have a hood in good shape.
good video
Thanks
Glad to have found your channel 👍 I'm subscribed!
Thanks.Much appreciated.
More parts are better than less parts. Looking good.
Thanks.Thats true.Time to start storing parts in the house.
this was great. things to consider when i start restoring the 1963 M38A1 Marine corp jeep we have. Loved seeing the thread insert tool you used on the back fenders
Thanks.Good luck with the jeep.Let me know how it goes.
Finally some supervision,lol
@@kara9664 Yeah I probably need it.
deal with the wires and make it look good and accurate
Yeah That's what I was thinking too.
Looking good. I like your simplistic approach. Me.... I tend to overthink it. I guess thats why my Studebaker Rat Truck is still unfinished.
Thanks.I definitely overthink things too.Sometimes spend hours visualizing stuff and moving stuff around.Just gotta shut your brain off and go for it.
Thanks for the video, it helps a lot to watch someone actually do it other than just reading about how to install windows. I will be installing new windows in my 51 Ford F-1 in the near future. This helped for sure.
No problem.I'm the same way.I'd rather see something done than just having it explained.Glad it helped and good luck on yours.
Looks good......are you on Facebook?
Thanks.Nate's Customsigns.Havent posted much on there in awhile.
Any videos of the actual engine swap? I have a 48 f1 , planning an 5.3 swap
No videos of it.I boxed the frame rails and then set it back as far as I could.Made some mounts from 3/16 plate while it was hanging from the hoist.Had to use the f body oil pan since It's got the mustang 2 suspension. Also gonna need block hugger headers.
Which specific wiring harness did you use
Psi.Had to buy adapters for the injectors because they were a different style but no problems with it so far.
It looks AWESOME! I'm looking into a 49 F2 right now. I'm a Chevy guy, but I'm getting a good deal on it. And I would like to go like you're going. That old patina road race, track style truck. Love your truck it's awesome!! "Inspiration is needed to continue on". Thanks buddy.
Thanks.I'm more of a Chevy guy too but I think these older Ford's were some of the best looking body styles.Pull the trigger on that 49 man.Once you start making progress on it you'll be glad you did.
gonna be an awesome build
Yeah if I ever get it done.No insulation in the shop so progress is really starting to slow down.
I feel your pain there! Same here
They needed the roof for a project or a sled
Lol yeah I can see using it as a sled.
I found a 46 in really great shape good to see someone else doing one up
Yeah it's pretty rare to find one in decent shape around here. What are your plans for the 46?
@@therustyroller3049 street maybe a rat not sure the place has my 34 international pu way to kool plus many other deliveries ford chevy etc. All with excellent metal. Probably 1 with ls supercharged . Just something to roll around being different.
Just where bouts are you I'm down here in ne Georgia
@@markstack2309 southeastern Missouri out in the boonies.Nice area, just close to anything.
Not close I meant
Love those old panel trucks. Looking good.
Same here.Sucks they're getting harder to find though.Thanks.
Nicely done , 🫵🏼💯🆒
Thanks
Couple questions. What front suspension and what oil pan. Ive got a 50 with a M2 front suspension and my oil pan is going to be below the rack and pinion.
Got the mk2 kit from speedway that came with the springs and shocks.Think they're speedway brand.Had to get an F body oil pan.
When I worked at a dealership back in 1970s there was a guy that use this technique replace window he used clothes line rope I don't know if you can get that stuff anymore
Not sure.Probably just about any rope that size would work.
Cool video 😊
Thanks
Great job, building on a budget, even using flux core wire. Nicely done. 🫵🏼💯🆒🇺🇸
Thanks. Some of the welds looked a little rough but it'll hold.I hope lol
🤘 looks really good
Thanks.
You stole those seats for $40 .
Sure did.Dont find deals like that very often.
Thanks very interesting
No problem.Thanks for watching.
Nicely done, I remember doing the rear window in my 51 GMC with the lock strip, what a pain, I was liking the rope install tool . 🫵🏼💯🆒🇺🇸
Thanks.Got lucky it was a small window and no lock strip, made it a lot easier.
Subbed , it's got a ls 👌👍
Thanks. Its my first one but won't be the last.
Initially I had one on Edna that was a piece of channel welded to the frame. I eventually went with a stock chrome bumper and cut out the old one. Also went with the bumper tuck brackets to keep it close to the frame. I have a video on my channel about it. Great 48 you got there! Edna is a 50
Thanks.Yeah I kinda just slapped it together and didn't put much thought into it.I'll probably end up doing something different with it later down the road.
@@therustyroller3049 it looks cool. I like it
@@adventureswithedna Thanks, appreciate it
Good video. I'm not into LS (at least not yet) but knowledge is a good thing.
Thanks.Yeah this is my first Ls so I'm still learning.Definitely won't be the last.
Great build on a budget, the bed looks cool, nicely done 💯🆒
Thanks. It actually ended up costing a lot more than I planned on but that's usually how it goes.
That’s normally the way Hot Rod builds go. 🫵🏼💯🆒🇺🇸
Great video, enjoyed watching 🫵🏼💯🆒🇺🇸New Sub for you.
Getting it there dude. Starting to get it tweaked more and more. I remember helping you unload that truck off the trailer in nothing but pieces
Yeah that's been awhile. You need to come down and take a ride in it sometime.
Sick truck buddy, I was blessed enough to have had a 48 too.. I went alittle different rough with mine.. but made good money on and everyone enjoyed it.
Thanks.Probably about the best looking truck Ford made in my opinion.
I agree... I'm working on a 64 step side now, 7inch of body drop down on a 99 crown vic classie.. I didn't start it I picked it up after the body wax set on the frame.. buy it will turn out nice for what it is..
Nice. That body style looks good lowered.Post some pics when you get it done.
Nice truck! Can't wait to see it rolling
Thanks. It is drivable but still some more bugs to work out
I've done some pigeon poop welds too .
As long as they hold together.
Hell yeah man it looks good. I like the snek. Nice job on the editing too!
Thanks man.Sometimes the editing takes longer than the work itself but it's worth it.
@therustyroller3049 Yeah, that's the downside but it does get easier.
Looking at the door it is not that bad. Look up Iron Trap Garage as they have several step by step vids showing door rebuilds and fabrication.
Just didn't want to spend the time on it.I might later down the road if I don't find another one. Thanks for the tip I'll check em out.
Sunroof over a bed
Lol yeah maybe. Not something I would've done now I'm stuck fixing it.
I have a '49 KB2 all restored. Its a fun truck and gets a lot of looks. Only draw back to it is how slow it is. 40-45mph is where it's most comfortable. So at the very least doing a rear end swap would be advisable. I know a guy who has TT loads of parts for these trucks. He's in Missouri. Message me back if your interested in his contact info. I look forward to more episodes. I know you will get 'er running. These green diamonds were virtually indestructible! I won't take much to revive it!
Thanks for watching.I decided to do a chassis swap with a 91 Dakota so I'm not going any farther with the original engine. The video after this is where I tear apart the Dakota, check it out.Yeah that contact info would be great.Dont know how to pm through UA-cam.
Keep up the destruction, lol!
I plan on it.
Thanks
No problem
Nice T-shirt! Lol hope your paying your helper. This is exactly what i have planned for the old ford. Just looking for the right doner truck.
Hey I really miss that place. She gets paid in ice cream but she keeps demanding more.Ls it
@therustyroller3049 they always demand more. Good employees are hard to find these days lol. If it wasn't my brothers truck that passed I would but he was one of those true blue Ford nuts so I'm going to keep it ford and just work on it all the time!
