In this lecture, we have solved one numerical problem to determine required no. of V Belts for transmitting 20 kW of power. Important aspect was to calculate Cross Sectional Area of V Belt through its geometry. Mass of the V belt is calculated which is then used to find out tension on slack side P2 and thereby, power transmitted per belt.
