Love that Adoption Now is on UA-cam now!!! Yay!
Losing the second baby on the bday of the lost 1st child would feel synchronistic to me. That would feel like a sign that they’re ok and together. What not to say when someone miscarriages… “What in your consciousness created this?” Someone actually said that to me while my baby was dying at 8 weeks of pregnancy. I learned it’s important to not assume what anyone is going through. We all respond differently. Just saying “I’m so sorry!” Is enough and then just listen. 💗
What an absolutely lovely couple! Beautiful family
Hello. Im actively trying to adopt in DR. I am having trouble getting started. Is there away I connect with this family for a conversation. I was trying to get agency info and process info.
Transracial adoption is traumatizing. Korean kids a victim of this would have been better off being adopted by an Asian family, or specifically, a Korean family.
The problem is that the Asian families don’t adopt them. Instead of being raised in an orphanage they are placed for adoption. They are sent to families that will adopt them. I have two adopted children from South Korea in 1995 and 1998. We raised them with other Korean adoptees in our town. I took them on a motherland tour to visit South Korea. My son got to meet his birth mother. Please don’t say that inter racial adoption is traumatizing when that’s not always the case. I speak from the experience of living it.
Location is just as important. Just don't hear about many stories about Asian adoptees from Hawaii, NYC or LA that went terribly wrong.
I was adopted from Holt I lived in the streets I know my father hung himself and my mother was also killed by drinking a lot because she was having sex with army men I stayed was confused as to why these men kept coming in and out lady found me wondering the streets and put me in orange where I stayed for two years when I was adopted to the American family I had one sister and two brothers which hated me and did everything to hurt me by saying you are not our family go back to your country they did everything to make sure I did not fit in I was mad holt did not screen this family I tried hard to please the adopted family won to chef school any chef school I wanted but they did not want to pay for a dorm so they placed me cheap college abuse kept going they gave everything to her kids but when but I said I engaged they took a black bag left on the lawn and said I have been kicked out the big blow out was I was happy that I didn't have to be abused sex from my adoted kelpt showing his penis to me and when I to my uncle what was happening I was disown HOLT SHOLD CHECK MORE CAREFUL WHERE A CHILD SHOULD PLACED ITS NOT ABOUT SELLING A CHILD FOR MONEY BUT THE WELL BEING OF CHILD
Hello. Are you open to 1 on 1 consultations?
Bottom line is be open and honest.
He was talking about governments do everything to keep families together but Korea shames unwed mother so mush and the government won't even register a baby as born without it being an open shame, babies left on the street. Shameful Even as adults they keep it quite as they are thought badly of.
What is a white brain? The person you become depends on the culture around you. If I grow up with a black family and end up thinking and acting like them, my “self” is a part of their culture, calling it a black brain would be weird.
Korean culture and "white" American culture are wildly different. But, yes. It would be called "black" American culture. There is a dude that was adopted by a black couple in LA. Was a long time fire fighter. Read about his story a while ago. There are a few others you can find online as well.
Everyone has their cross to bear in life. Parents or no parents. No life is perfect. Also sometimes it is better not to know your birth parents. I have seen a show dedicated to people finding their birth parents and many stories did not turn out well when they found their parents. Many ended up feeling more hurt than before.
True. My friend found her brother's adoption papers. He was born to a mid forties woman serving a life sentence for murder. She had been resided in an all female prison so the father was a prison employee. The brother doesn't know. I hope he never looks into it.
Regardless of how the search and reunion end, EVERY HUMAN BEING HAS THE RIGHT, EVEN A NEED, TO KNOW THEIR ROOTS. NOBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO OBSTRUCT THAT SEARCH OR REUNION.
I wasn’t told by Holts to assimilate my daughter into our family but I did. Though I told her over and over she should be proud of her heritage! She wanted nothing to do with Korea. After her first year of college I sent her on a Mother Land trip, provided by Holts! She came back and said, “Mom, I was around all those Asians and it didn’t bother me! Thank you, Jesus! That was what I had prayed for!
Is Holt still open? This was in Ilsan, right? I volunteered for Molly Holt at her home for handicapped children in 2004. I was a Korean War orphan. I also attended the Korean adoptee conference that Same year in Seoul. It was interesting. Many children were taunted at schools and society at large because they were Asians or half Asian. Your daughter could have felt left out. I’m glad she went back to Korea and had a positive experience.
The Lord gave me a vision of my Korean daughter. There were many miracles and answers to prayer! God used that time to show me how real He wants to show us He is! Lori came in 1964 and I now have a great granddaughter, who is beautiful!
❤❤❤
What a beautiful story, i know Esther will be love for ever.
My sister God Will bless you and your family for everything you díd throu adoption to bring the Kids in America for a better life.Sis May God continued tó guide you and protect you and your family.
Firstly, I was so pleased to hear that Glen took the time to hear the stories of the kids who were NOT adopted, and aged out of the orphanages. Folks need to hear both sides of the story. Also, the feeling of being the "only one" is a big problem for many international adoptees raised in communities without Asian populations. We found that with our daughter. Domestic adoption IS an ideal, but, as he says, not all countries have accepted that possibility. Lastly, YES, family preservation is very important, it is essential to a child's security and well being, and being raised in an intact two parent home is the best for kids. Sadly, many kids today don't have that here in the US, divorce and "single parenting" being so common.
maga2024 a great prolife president
Is that prolife or someone that's saying what others are telling him what a good talking point to get others prolife to listen to him, them and others.

Know yourself so who, what, where, how you will make your life to be as you want it to be.
I’m a adopted and I do not hold anything against good or bad parenting towards the people who adopted me. Our own birth parents abandoned me which lead to who, what, where and how we ended up in a good or bad family. Some adopted get lucky to be placed in a genuinely wanted parents. And, some adopted are not so lucky so they ended up with bad parents. I believe, we, adopted are responsible for their lives outcomes. You can’t hold on to excuses to what someone did or not. Whatever your life handed to you, you have to make the best of it. I made lemons into lemonade!
Good for you, Celisa! You are right, our past helps us understand our emotional responses to things, but never EXCUSES how we behave today.
I want to be adopted Im 16 years old.
We can CHOOSE to feel after some time. It works. I can choose conflicted feelings, ingratitude. I can choose to focus on confusion or clarity. Our FREE WILL can do a lot for us. We can choose to dwell on sadness or anger or we can choose to renounce what doesn't work for us. I've seen people who focus on their RESPONSIBILITIES rather than their RIGHTS and they are extremely successful and joyful.
I really enjoyed this episode! I’m an ardent fan of the podcast and it was great to be able to put faces to voices this time around. 🙂 I love hearing these stories- I wish adoption in the UK was like it is in the US!
Thank you for listening to our show Abbie! Your response is such an encouragement to us!
